Nick sat there with Brian,
Howie, and AJ. They were sitting in the living room of Kevin’s house. Kevin called them over because he had something
to tell them. Kevin came into the room and looked at them. He sat down and took
a deep breath.
“So, Kev, what’s the big news,” AJ said.
“Guys, I have given this a lot of thought, this is the hardest and toughest decision I ever had to make,”
Kevin said.
“What is it, cuz?” Brian asked.
“I’m leaving,” Kevin said.
“Leaving what?” Nick asked.
“I’m leaving the group,” Kevin said. Howie, AJ, Nick, and Brian sat there looking at him.
“What,” Nick said.
“Kev,” Brian said.
“That’s crazy,” AJ said.
“Kev, are you sure about this?” Howie asked.
“It’s time for me to move on,” Kevin said.
“What did I do?” Nick asked.
“Nick, you didn’t do anything, this is my choice, it’s time for me to spread my wings and see what’s
out there,” Kevin said. Nick got up and ran out the door.
“Kev, you said we would always be a group, what changed?” Brian asked.
“Life, I’ve given thirteen years of my life to BSB and I need to go and see what else is out there,”
Kevin said.
“I can’t believe this,” AJ said.
“I’m sorry, guys, but it’s time for me to go,” Kevin said. AJ, Howie, and Brian hugged him.
Kevin got up and went out back and saw Nick standing there.
“I’m sorry, Nicky,” Kevin said. Nick looked at him. Kevin saw that his eyes were red.
“Why are you doing this!” Nick cried. Kevin hugged him. Nick cried on his shoulder.
“It’s time for me to move on,” Kevin said.
“I did something wrong, didn’t I, you got tired of picking up after me, you got tired of being around a
screw-up,” Nick said.
“No, Nicky, you didn’t nothing wrong, I made this choice for myself, to see what’s out there,”
Kevin said.
“But I don’t want you to go, you are the big brother, you are suppose to guide us, and take care of us,
and be there for us!” Nick cried. Kevin held Nick close.
“You guys will be fine,” Kevin said. They went back inside.
