Kevin walked down the hall of his high school. It’s been over ten years since he graduated. He stood in the doorway of one of the classrooms and saw his wife, Hayley, sitting at her desk writing some notes. He knew she loved teaching and he knew she wouldn’t give it up for anything. He leaned against the doorway and watched her. He started to go in when Nick came up beside him.

       “Hey Kev,” Nick said going into the classroom. Hayley looked up and smiled.

       “Hi Nicky, let me finish this and I’ll be ready to go,” Hayley said.

       “What’s going on?” Kevin said.

       “Nick needs help finding a present for his mother for Mother’s Day so I’m going shopping with him, I left a message on your cell phone,” Hayley said. Kevin looked at his phone and saw a message waiting.

       “I’m sorry about that,” Kevin said.

       “I’ll be home later, okay,” Hayley said as Kevin came over to her and he hugged her.

       “Okay,” Kevin said. He kissed her forehead and left the room. Nick closed the door and locked it.

       “I still can’t believe Kevin’s having an affair,” Hayley said.

       “Why not confront him about it,” Nick said.

       “Because I want to see how long he can go before telling me, he doesn’t know that Kristin called me and told me everything, god, he’s sleeping with her best friend and he doesn’t know that she knows and has told me,” Hayley said.

       “So you are waiting until he confesses before doing anything, what are you going to do if he confesses,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

       “I don’t know, Nicky,” Hayley said. Nick knelt down beside her chair.

       “You know I’m here for you if you need anything, you are my best friend and I’m your best friend,” Nick said. Hayley smiled at him.

       “I know, and I don’t know what I would do without you at this point,” Hayley said. He stroked her cheek and smiled. She looked into his eyes and he looked into hers and they leaned close and their lips met. They pulled back and looked at each other.

       “We shouldn’t have done that,” Hayley said.

       “I know,” Nick said. They looked at each other. She stood up and they were into each other’s arms and kissing deeply. They moved over to the couch she had in the room and laid down on it with him on top. They started removing each other’s clothes. Nick pulled back and gazed at her.

       “Do you want to do this?” Nick asked looking deep into her eyes. She pulled him down and kissed him deeply.

       “I want you inside me, Nicky, now, make love to me!” Hayley said. He pushed himself inside her. They moved together and held each other. They kissed deeply as she came around him. He came after her, spilling himself deep inside her. He laid on top of her. They held each other close.

       “That was so amazing,” Hayley said.

       “Yeah, and we had no protection unless you are on birth control,” Nick said looking at her.

       “Kevin didn’t want me on birth control, but I don’t care anymore, if I get pregnant, it will be yours, Kevin and I haven’t made love for six months, and I know I’m not pregnant, but I might become pregnant after making love with you, and that’s perfect for my revenge,” Hayley said. Nick looked at her.

       “So this is revenge,” Nick said.

       “No, I wanted to make love with you, Nicky, I have dreamed of making love with you for a long time now,” Hayley said.

       "I've wanted this, too, but I didn't want to come between you and Kevin," Nick said kissing her neck.

       "Right now, I don't care, it's you I want, it's you I dream about," Hayley said. He kissed her deeply as he made love to her again.

Chapter 2

Hayley went home and saw Kevin on the couch with another woman, making love. She cleared her throat. They broke apart and saw her. Kevin’s eyes widened. Hayley shook her head and ran upstairs. She grabbed her clothes and started packing her bags. Kevin came in and saw her packing.

       “Hayley, it’s not what you think!” Kevin said.

       “It’s not what I think, you were making love to another woman in OUR house!” Hayley said as she continued packing.

       “Hayley,” Kevin said.

       “I’m going to go stay at Nick’s house, and I want you to leave me alone,” Hayley said grabbing her bags. She went downstairs and saw the girl covered with a blanket. Hayley went out the door and put her bags in the car and got into her car and went to Nick’s house. She went up to the door and it opened and Nick stood there. He helped her get her bags in and he closed the door and pushed her against the wall and kissed her hungrily as he pressed his body against hers.

       “I went home and found him on the couch making love to her, I packed my bags and left,” Hayley said. Nick began kissing her neck.

       “You can stay here,” Nick said.

       “I was hoping I could,” Hayley said.

       “I want to make love to you and make you mine,” Nick said kissing her shoulder. She grabbed him and turned around and pushed him against the wall and kissed him hard. She kissed his neck and unbuttoned his shirt and pushed it off of him and kissed his chest. She licked his nipple and moved down and unbuttoned his jeans and pushed them down and pulled his boxer briefs down.

       “Do you want this?” Hayley asked taking his length in her hands. She looked up at him. He gazed down at her.

       “God yes, but not here, upstairs,” Nick said moaning. They went upstairs. She pushed him on the bed and got on top of him. She kissed him deeply and moved down his body to his erection and she licked the top of him and took him in her mouth and sucked deep. Nick moaned. He couldn’t hold back and as she took him deeper into her mouth, he came in her mouth. She swallowed his offering and she moved up his body and kissed him deeply, letting him taste himself. He rolled them over and removed her clothes. He kissed her neck and moved down and took a nipple into his mouth and sucked. He moved over and nursed on the other breast. He moved down and licked her stomach. He opened her legs and moved down and licked her. She moved. He thrusted his tongue inside of her. She moaned and rose off the bed a little. He made love to her with his tongue. She came and he swallowed her offering. He moved back up and kissed her letting her taste herself. He laid between her legs, the tip of him teasing her. He kissed her deeply and pushed himself deep inside her. She wrapped her legs around him and they moved together. She came around him crying out his name. He came and spilled his love deep inside her body. He laid on top of her and they kissed hungrily.

       “You are mine now, you always will be no matter what,” Nick said.

       “I’m going to divorce Kevin, and I want to be with you forever,” Hayley said. Nick smiled and kissed her softly. They heard the doorbell ring. Nick got up and got dressed. Hayley got dressed. Nick went downstairs and opened the door and saw Kevin standing there.

Chapter 3

Nick stood there looking at Kevin. Kevin looked at him. Hayley came downstairs.

       “I would like to speak to my wife,” Kevin said. Nick looked at Hayley. Nick stepped aside. Kevin came in and looked at Hayley. They went into the living room while Nick sat in the kitchen. Hayley looked at Kevin.

       “I want a divorce,” Hayley said.

       “I don’t,” Kevin said.

       “Kevin, we haven’t truly been husband and wife for awhile now, you had an affair, I have known for awhile, Kristin told me,” Hayley said.

       “Oh great,” Kevin said.

       “Why did you do it, what happened to us that made you want someone else,” Hayley said.

       “I knew Nick wanted you, he wanted to be with you before we got married, he confessed to me that he was falling for you but didn’t want to come between us, so after we got married, I bumped into Kristin’s friend, Amy, and we started having an affair and she purposely told Kristin about it so she would tell you, but after you found me and Amy together, I realized what I was doing and I didn’t want to give up on you and me, so I ended things with Amy,” Kevin said.

       “Nick and I began an affair, today at school, we had sex on the couch, well, actually we made love, and before you got here, we were making love, Kevin, I want to be with him, he’s the one I want, you and I won’t be happy if we both want other people, it’s best that we end the marriage so we can both be happy because I can see you want to be with Amy,” Hayley said.

       “You know me well, I’ll go talk to my lawyer about divorce papers,” Kevin said.

       “Thank you,” Hayley said. He left. Nick came into the living room and sat down beside her.

       “Wow, now you can be with me,” Nick said.

       “Did you really want me before me and Kevin got married,” Hayley said.

       “I have wanted you from the first moment I met you, but you and Kevin were in love, I didn’t want to hurt you or him so I stepped aside,” Nick said.

       “Well, you have me now,” Hayley said. Nick smiled and kissed her deeply.

Chapter 4

(Author’s Note: I am going to have the first three chapters be a daydream)

Hayley heard a voice and snapped out of her daydream and saw Kevin standing beside her.

       “Hey honey, where were you, I was trying to get your attention and let you know I was here, since I was picking you up today,” Kevin said.

       “Are you having an affair?” Hayley asked.

       “Why would I have an affair?” Kevin asked.

       “Just tell me the truth,” Hayley said.

       “Honey, are you okay, why would you think I would cheat on you,” Kevin said.

       “Answer the question, Kevin,” Hayley said.

       “I have no reason to lie to you, no I am not having an affair, I could never do that to you, honey, are you okay?” Kevin asked.

       “I guess I was daydreaming that you had an affair and we were getting a divorce,” Hayley said.

       “Honey, I love you more than life itself, there is no reason for me to have an affair when you are my life,” Kevin said. He kissed her deeply. He pulled back and looked into her eyes.

       “I love you, too, Kev,” Hayley said.

       “Are you ready to go?” Kevin asked.

       “Yeah,” Hayley said. They went home.  Kevin locked the door and pulled her close.

       “I want to make love to my wife,” Kevin said kissing her neck. He picked her up and carried her upstairs to their bedroom and laid her on the bed. He began undressing her when the doorbell rang. He groaned and got up and went downstairs and opened the door and saw Nick.

       “Nick, I’m a little busy,” Kevin said.

       “I’m sorry, I’m a little mad and upset,” Nick said.

       “What now,” Kevin said.

       “It’s that bitch I call an ex-girlfriend, she’s trashing me in the press again, saying that I’m a disgusting pig,” Nick said.

       “What!” Kevin said.

       “Yeah, she said she’s happy that she’s with someone loyal and honest, and he’s not a disgusting pig like her ex, me,” Nick said.

       “Nick, don’t you start anything, we will deal with this in a nice, calm respectful way,” Kevin said.

       “She got me banned for every club in Florida and New York and California,” Nick said.

       “Well, that will change when we start touring because they will have to let you in if we are going to be playing at clubs,” Kevin said.

       “She is really pissing me off and I haven’t done shit to her,” Nick said.

       “She is just trying to get publicity,” Kevin said.

       “She’s doing a good job, like being a hotel heiress isn’t enough publicity,” Nick said.

       “Get the other guys and come back later, we will have a meeting to talk about how to deal with this,” Kevin said. Hayley came downstairs.

       “What’s going on,” Hayley said.

       “Paris is trashing Nick in the press again, calling him a disgusting pig and saying that her new man is honest and loyal,” Kevin said.

       “And having me banned from every club in the US,” Nick said.

       “That bitch, I just want to get my hands on her and mess up her pretty little face,” Hayley said.

       “No, Hayley, you are staying out of this,” Kevin said. Hayley looked at him.

       “No, Nick is my best friend, I am not going to let that bitch trash his reputation,” Hayley said.

       “Hayley, we will handle this, I don’t want you making things worse,” Kevin said.

       “Kevin, I want to help, okay, I am not going to let that bitch trash my best friend anymore,” Hayley said. Kevin sighed.

       “Okay, fine, but you can’t find her and beat her up, that would be assault,” Kevin said.

       “Fine,” Hayley said. She sat down and turned on the TV.

       “In entertainment news, hotel heiress Paris Hilton was admitted to the hospital earlier today in New York City, she appeared to have been assaulted, she is claiming that her ex-boyfriend, Nick Carter, assaulted her after an argument, the police are looking for witnesses but no charges have yet been filed,” the reporter said. Kevin looked at Nick.

       “I was never near her, I didn’t do it,” Nick said.

       “Nick,” Kevin said.

       “Kevin, I swear, I never touched her, I never left the state, I was with Howie and AJ all day,” Nick said. Howie, AJ, and Brian came in.

       “Did you guys hear the news, it was on the radio, she is starting something again, I know Nick didn’t go near her, he never left Florida,” AJ said.

       “We have to have a press conference,” Brian said.

The next day, the guys were holding a press conference. Paris was watching from her hospital room.

       “Nick, did you assault your ex-girlfriend, Paris Hilton?” A reporter asked.

       “No, I didn’t, I never left the state of Florida and I was with Howie and AJ all day, and I was with Brian last night working on some songs,” Nick said.

       “What is your comment of her calling you a disgusting pig,” a reporter asked.

       “She must really want publicity, I haven’t really done anything to trash her reputation, so I don’t know why she has to keep trashing me in the press, she must still have feelings for me if she can’t stop talking about me in the press, everything she said about me is not true, I’m not a disgusting pig and I was honest and loyal with her, she just wants the attention and get publicity a lot, but I don’t know why she has to trash me to get it,” Nick said.

       “Did you cheat on Paris?” a reporter said.

       “No, I didn’t, I wasn’t raised that way, I know not to cheat on my girlfriends,” Nick said.

       “I tried to get her to stop trashing Nick because if she was trashing him, she’s trashing the whole group, I guess she rather have the attention than remain peaceful,” Kevin said.

       “I loved Paris, I really did, but the real reason we broke up was because we both wanted different things, I have moved on and I am happy, I’m not a cheater or abuser, I was taught by my mother not to hit women, the guys know that I never would hit a woman,” Nick said.

After the press conference was over, the guys and Hayley went home. Kevin and Hayley collapsed on their bed and made love. They laid there holding each other.

Chapter 5

A week later, Kevin, Hayley, and Nick were shopping at the mall. Hayley was walking and she bumped into someone.

       “Sorry,” Hayley said. She saw it was Paris Hilton.

       “Scratch that, I’m not sorry,” Hayley said coldly. She moved past Paris but Paris stayed in front of her.

       “Move, please,” Hayley said.

       “I don’t think so,” Paris said.

       “Get out of my way, please!” Hayley said angrily.

       “Move, Paris,” Kevin said.

       “No,” Paris said. Hayley grabbed her and shoved her out of the way. Paris fell and landed on the floor.

       “Don’t say I didn’t ask you to move because I did, and Kevin and Nick can vouch for me,” Hayley said.

       “Bitch!” Paris said.

       “You are the bitch, trashing Nick in the press, you guys have been over for a year, he has moved on, he doesn’t trash you in the press, but you can’t seem to stop trashing him, but you are not only trashing him, you are trashing Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin, Kevin asked you to stop trashing them in the press but you didn’t listen, you can’t seem to get past it, I think you can’t get past the breakup that you have to trash Nick’s name, he didn’t cheat on you, I have proof that you cheated on Nick with your current lover, you need to grow up and get a life, Paris, because what you are doing is getting old and you can’t move past it at all, I so much want to pound your ass for everything you did to Nick, but I am smarter than that, and Nick is sure smarter than you, he has moved on with his life, he is doing just fine without you, do yourself a favor, if you think you are not getting enough publicity by being a hotel heiress, than just disappear from public altogether, the press was following you around before you started dating Nick, so grow up and stop trashing my best friend, there are people tired of it and there are a lot of Backstreet fans out there who would like a piece of you for trashing their favorite band, I would be careful, honey, because there are people out there who will hurt you, so stop trashing Nick and the guys, you will be safe if you did,” Hayley said. She walked off with Kevin and Nick following her. Once they were out of the mall, Nick hugged Hayley.

       “Thanks for sticking up for me,” Nick said.

       “I was sticking up for the whole group, Nicky, but mostly you, you are my best friend and you don’t deserve to be trashed by that slut,” Hayley said. He hugged her again. Kevin smiled as he watched them hug. They went to Kevin’s car and they took Nick home and they went to their house. They walked in and saw Kristin sitting there with a baby.

       “Kristin, what are you doing here,” Kevin said.

       “Kevin, I wanted you to meet your son, Matthew,” Kristin said.

       “My son?” Kevin asked.

       “Yes, he’s yours, I had a paternity test taken, I didn’t do anything to the test,” Kristin said.

       “How can you do anything without me there,” Kevin asked.

       “I snuck in and got some hair from your hairbrush,” Kristin said.

       “How did you get in?” Kevin asked.

       “Well, Hayley let me in, she knew everything,” Kristin said.

       “You knew,” Kevin said looking at Hayley.

       “I didn’t want to say anything, she had to be the one to tell you,” Hayley said.

       “You should have told me!” Kevin said.

       “It wasn’t my place to tell you,” Hayley said.

       “Still, you could have told me,” Kevin said.

       “It wasn’t my place!” Hayley said.

       “I’m done, I’m through, our marriage is over,” Kevin said. He walked out the door. Hayley looked at Kristin.

       “I should have told him before you were told, I’m sorry, Hayley,” Kristin said.

       “Yeah,” Hayley said. She went upstairs and laid on the bed.

Three days later, Kevin never came home. She received divorce papers. She sat there on the bed looking at them. She heard a noise and looked up and saw Nick. He came over and sat on the bed.

       “You okay,” Nick said.

       “No,” Hayley said. He saw the divorce papers.

       “I am not mad at you, Kristin should have been the one to tell him, it wasn’t your news to tell,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

       “I know, but he doesn’t think that, he thinks I should tell him anything no matter what, maybe I should have,” Hayley said.

       “Kristin had to be the one to tell him, not you,” Nick said.

       “I know,” Hayley said. Nick hugged her.

       “I’m here for you,” Nick said.

       “Can I move in with you, I think I should move out because this is his house,” Hayley said.

       “Sure,” Nick said. He helped her pack her stuff up. She signed the divorce papers and left them on the coffee table. They loaded her car and Nick’s SUV and Hayley left her keys after making sure she had everything. She took off her rings and left them on the divorce papers and went out the door and went to Nick’s house.

Chapter 6

Kevin arrived at the house and found Hayley gone. He saw the divorce papers and her rings. He sat down and looked at the papers and saw her signature. He picked her rings up and closed his hand around them and cried. Brian came in and saw him.

       “Kev,” Brian said.

       “I screwed up, I let the one person I loved most in the world walk out of my life,” Kevin said crying.

       “I would say you did, you should have realized that Kristin had to be the one to tell you, not Hayley,” Brian said.

       “I want her back, Brian,” Kevin said.

       “I’ll go talk to her,” Brian said.

       “Thanks, cuz,” Kevin said. Brian went to Nick’s house. He went in and saw Nick sitting there.

       “Is Hayley here?” Brian asked.

       “Yeah, she’s unpacking in her room,” Nick said. Brian went upstairs and looked into the room. He went in and closed the door. Hayley turned and saw him. He went over to her and kissed her deeply.

       “I am glad I am divorcing Kevin, I want to be with you,” Hayley said.

       “I just can’t believe we managed to hide our affair,” Brian said kissing her tenderly.

       “Well, Nick knows,” Hayley said.

       “You told him?” Brian said pulling back.

       “Yeah, he’s my best friend and he promised he wouldn’t tell and he hasn’t,” Hayley said. Brian looked at her. Nick came into the room.

       “Hey,” Nick said.

       “Nick, did you tell anybody about me and Hayley?” Brian asked.

       “Nope, I wouldn’t do anything to ruin my friendship with you two,” Nick said.

       “Good,” Brian said.

       “Now you two can be together,” Nick said.

       “Yeah,” Brian said.

       “Brian, what’s wrong,” Hayley said.

       “I thought we wouldn’t tell anybody,” Brian said.

       “Well, I’m sorry, I tell Nick everything, I know I can count on him and trust him, I trust him with my life, and I thought you did, too,” Hayley said.

       “God, Hayley, we promised not to tell a single soul but you couldn’t keep the promise, we are through, no more, your husband wants you back, he feels guilty, so go talk to him,” Brian said. He went out the door. Hayley sat on the bed.

       “I can’t seem to do anything right,” Hayley said.

       “Maybe you should go talk to Kevin,” Nick said. Hayley went to Kevin’s house and walked in and saw Kevin lying on the couch. He saw her and got up and came over to her. She moved away from him.

       “You don’t want to come near me, I have something to confess, for the past three months, Brian and I have been having an affair,” Hayley said.

       “I know, I found out one night, a couple of months ago, I walked into Brian’s house and found you and him in bed,” Kevin said.

       “Why didn’t you say anything,” Hayley said.

       “I don’t know, but you didn’t leave me, you acted like you were totally committed to me,” Kevin said.

       “I was,” Hayley said.

       “I burned the divorce papers, I don’t want a divorce,” Kevin said.

       “For some reason, I don’t want a divorce either, and me and Brian are no more, he got mad because I told Nick and you know I always tell Nick everything,” Hayley said.

       “Can we go back to normal,” Kevin said.

       “I want that,” Hayley said. Kevin came over to her and kissed her deeply. He pulled back and got out her rings and slid them back on her fingers.

       “I never want you to take those off again, I never want to lose you again,” Kevin said. He kissed her deeply.

       “Make love to me, Kevin, please,” Hayley said.

       “I’m out of condoms, Hayley, we used the last one the other night,” Kevin said.

       “I want you to make love to me, Kev, I want to feel all of you, and I want you right now, I don’t care about protection anymore, I want to have your babies, I want it now,” Hayley said.

       “Are you sure,” Kevin said.

       “Yes, god, Kevin, please I need you now,” Hayley said. Kevin picked her up and carried her upstairs.

Chapter 7

Kevin carried Hayley into the bedroom. He closed the door and locked it. He ran his hands up her sides and under her shirt and slowly pushed it off of her. She removed his clothes and he removed the rest of hers. She pushed him on the bed and got on top of him and kissed him deeply. His hands were all over her body. The phone rang. Hayley groaned and picked it up.

       “Hello,” Hayley said.

       “Hayley, it’s Nick,” Nick said. He sounded upset.

       “Nicky, what’s wrong,” Hayley said.

       “I need you to come bail me out,” Nick said.

       “What, what happened,” Hayley said.

       “Paris decided to press charges against me,” Nick said.

       “That fucking bitch, okay, I’ll be right there,” Hayley said. She hung up and got up and got dressed.

       “What happened,” Kevin said.

       “Paris pressed charges against Nick, he’s in jail, that fucking bitch!” Hayley said. She kissed him and went down to the police station. She walked up to the front desk.

       “I want Nick Carter released now,” Hayley said.

       “I’m sorry, but we can’t do that, he’s been arrested for assault, he put Paris Hilton in a New York hospital,” the officer said.

       “Bullcrap, he was nowhere near her, and there are a couple of people who can give him an alibi of where he’s been,” Hayley said.

       “Ma’am,” the officer said.

       “No, I’m not done here, he didn’t touch her, he didn’t assault her, you are keeping an innocent guy in jail, call Howie Dorough and AJ McLean, they were with him the whole time on the day she got sent to the hospital,” Hayley said.

       “Where?” the officer said.

       “Here in Florida, she’s just starting crap, she’s been doing this since their breakup,” Hayley said.

       “Ma’am, I’m sorry, but we can’t just let him go,” the officer said.

       “How much is his bail?’ Hayley asked.

       “He can’t be bailed out, Ms. Hilton fears for her safety,” the officer said.

       “He isn’t going to do anything to her, you can release him into my custody, he is my best friend, if he does anything, you can put me in jail with him,” Hayley said.

       “Okay, we will release him into your custody,” the officer said.

An hour later, Hayley and Nick arrived at her and Kevin’s house. She made up the guest room. Kevin came in.

       “Hayley,” Kevin said.

       “Nick was released into my custody, so if he does anything wrong, I will go to jail with him,” Hayley said.

       “What!” Kevin said.

       “They wouldn’t release him otherwise, the bitch feared for her safety,” Hayley said.

       “She’s here,” Kevin said.

       “WHAT!” Hayley said.

       “She’s out back,” Kevin said.

       “You let that fucking bitch into our house!” Hayley said angrily. She went flying downstairs and out back and saw Paris sitting there.

       “You fucking bitch!” Hayley said grabbing her.

       “Get off me!” Paris said.

       “How dare you press charges against my best friend, he didn’t do anything to you and you know it!” Hayley said angrily. Nick pulled Hayley off of her and held her arms.

       “Dammit, Hayley, you are going to cause more shit than there is,” Nick said.

       “I don’t care, I will not stand by and let this bitch press false charges against you, you didn’t do anything to her,” Hayley said angrily.

       “It’s not worth it, she’s not worth going to jail,” Nick said.

       “Why did you do this, Paris, you know as well as all of us that Nick didn’t hit you and send you to the hospital, he wasn’t even in the same state as you, you were in New York, he was here in Florida, Howie and AJ can tell you that, he was with them all day, he never assaulted you, he never trashed you in the press, so why are you starting all this after you two have been broken up for a year,” Hayley said glaring at Paris.

       “I still have feelings for him,” Paris said.

       “So sending him to jail was a way to show that you still have feelings for him!” Hayley said.

       “I’m sorry, okay, I called the police station and told them that I’m dropping the charges,” Paris said.

       “That better be the truth,” Hayley said.

       “It is, okay, I don’t want any more trouble, okay, I just want to be able to move on, I was hoping to talk to Nick about everything,” Paris said.

       “Fine,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him and went inside and stood at the kitchen window and watched them.

       “You can’t keep doing this, Hayley,” Kevin said.

       “What,” Hayley said.

       “Protecting Nick, putting your freedom on the line,” Kevin said.

       “What, you wanted him to just sit in jail for something he did not do,” Hayley said.

       “He did hit her, she wasn’t lying,” Kevin said.

       “When,” Hayley said.

       “When they were dating,” Kevin said

       “Nick would never hit a woman, he was taught better than that, I know him better than you do, Kevin, he would never hurt a woman, I can’t believe you believe that bitch over Nick, the guy you say is one of your little brothers, I am glad my stuff is over at Nick’s house because it is staying there,” Hayley said. She went into the living room. Kevin followed and grabbed her.

       “You are not leaving me!” Kevin said angrily. Hayley tried pulling her arm away.

       “Let go of me!” Hayley said. She yanked back and pulled her arm free and tripped and fell into the glass coffee table. The metal frame knocked her out. Kevin stood there in shock. Nick and Paris came running into the living room and Nick saw Hayley.

       “What did you do to her!” Nick yelled. He went to Hayley and checked to see if she was alive.

       “I’m calling 911,” Paris said getting her cell phone out. Kevin stood there.

       “What the hell did you do to her!” Nick said to Kevin.

       “She fell into the coffee table,” Kevin said softly.

       “Did you push her!” Nick said angrily.

       “I had a hold of her and she yanked away and tripped and fell,” Kevin said.

       “If anything happens to her, it will be your fault!” Nick said angrily. The ambulance came and they loaded Hayley up and took her to the hospital. Nick followed behind the ambulance. Kevin followed behind him.

Chapter 8

Nick sat in the waiting room glaring at Kevin, who stood against the wall. Brian, Howie, and AJ came into the waiting room.

       “What happened,” Brian said.

       “Kevin grabbed her and she yanked away and fell into the coffee table, hitting her head on the metal frame,” Nick said.

       “What!” Brian said glaring at Kevin. Nick told them the whole story.

       “Kevin, I can’t believe you,” AJ said.

       “I’m sick of her putting her neck out for Nick,” Kevin said.

       “Nick is her best friend, she would do anything for him and you knew that when you married her,” Brian said.

       “I don’t care, she put her freedom on the line to keep him out of jail, he should have just stayed there,” Kevin said. Nick started for Kevin but Brian held him back.

       “Why do you hate me so much, Kevin, huh, why do you want me out of Hayley’s life?!” Nick said.

       “Because she’s in love with you, she has been since before she married me, I read some letters that she wrote to you that she never sent to you, I didn’t want to lose her,” Kevin said. Nick looked at him.

       “You wouldn’t have lost her, she loves you, god, Kevin, she did have the chance to be with me when you filed for divorce, but she was fooling around with Brian, not once that she was in my house, that she put any moves on me or try anything with me,” Nick said.

       “I may have lost her for good,” Kevin said.

       “You don’t know that,” Howie said.

       “She told me before she fell into the coffee table that she was happy that her stuff was at Nick’s house because she was leaving me,” Kevin said.

The doctor came out. They looked at him. He identified himself as Dr. Davis.

       “Mr. Richardson, your wife is asking for you,” Dr. Davis said. Kevin went to Hayley’s room. He walked in and saw her lying there. She looked at him.

       “Hayley, I am so sorry,” Kevin said.

       “Save it, Kevin, I can’t do this anymore, you have hurt me in the worst possible way, I want a divorce, Kevin,” Hayley said.

       “I love you, Hayley, I don’t want to lose you,” Kevin said.

       “Kevin, you hurt me when you wanted me to leave my best friend in jail for something he didn’t do, you know he didn’t assault Paris,” Hayley said.

       “I know, I’m sorry, I’ll make it up to you,” Kevin said.

       “It’s too late, once you said those things about Nick, it was the end of us, I can’t be with someone who wanted me to leave my best friend in jail, Nick has always been there for me, and I’m always going to be there for him,” Hayley said.

       “I know you are in love with him, I found your letters,” Kevin said. Hayley looked at him.

       “Get out, Kevin,” Hayley said.

       “Hayley,” Kevin said.

       “I said get out!” Hayley said angrily. Kevin looked at her and walked out of the room. Nick came in and sat beside her on the bed. She reached for him and he hugged her.

Epilogue

Three months later, Kevin and Hayley signed the divorce papers and Hayley completely moved out of Kevin’s house and moved in with Nick. Paris never bothered them again. Nick and Hayley were hanging out at the house. Nick looked at her.

       “About the letters that Kevin found,” Nick said.

       “Nick,” Hayley said.

       “I want to know if they were true, are you in love with me,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

       “Yes,” Hayley said. Nick went over to her.

       “I am in love with you, too,” Nick said. They kissed deeply and he carried her upstairs and they sealed their love for each other and they knew they would never be apart.
