Brizee stood backstage watching her best friends onstage. She has known them for like ever since they got together, but she has known Nick longer than all of them. She and Nick have been best friends since birth. They have been through everything together. When Nick went on tour, Brizee went with him. They were never apart. Brian, Kevin, AJ, and Howie think of her as a little sister. They also thought that Brizee and Nick would make a great couple. But Brizee and Nick told them that it would never work. Leighanne, Kristin, Amanda, and Sarah came up to her.

Hi girls, Willa said as she came up to them.
What do you want, Kristin said.
I got a backstage pass, I want to talk to Nick, Willa said.

The guys came backstage. Brian, Howie, AJ, and Kevin saw Willa.

Brizee arrived home and ran up to her room and collapsed on the bed and cried. She heard the door open and close and heard footsteps coming up the stairs and come into the room. She felt the bed dip.

Go away, Brizee said crying.
Briz, whats wrong, you can tell me, Im your best friend, Nick said.

What, Nick said.

Kevin, lets go, Kristin said. They left. Nick stood there. He came over to Brizee and wrapped his arms around her.

That night, the doorbell rang. Brizee opened the door and saw Brian and Leighanne.

They arrived at Bernhards and went in and went to the private dining room. Nick, Willa, AJ, Amanda, Howie, Sarah, Kevin, and Kristin were there talking. They looked up and saw Brian and Leighanne come in with Brizee behind them.
Hey, guys, Nick said. They sat down. Brizee sat as far from Nick as she could get.
Thanks for coming, all of you, Willa said.
We are here to celebrate Willa getting a record deal, and something else, Nick said. Everyone looked at Nick.
What do you mean, Nick? AJ asked. Nick reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box. Willa opened it and saw a diamond ring.

Yes, I will, Willa said. He slid the ring on her finger. Brizee got up and ran out the door. Leighanne looked at Brian and went after her. She found Brizee in the bathroom.

Leighanne, Briz? Nick called. Leighanne opened the door and let Nick in. Leighanne went out and stood by the door.
Brizee sat on the couch. Nick sat beside her. She stared at her hands. Nick took her hands in his.

I cant, Brizee said softly. Nick pulled her into his lap.

Three months later, Brizee sat there staring at the tiny stick in her hand. She threw it away. She was pregnant. She knew she couldn't tell Nick. It was his wedding day and he was very excited. Leighanne came in.

"Briz," Leighanne said.

"Oh Briz, you have to tell Nick," Leighanne said.

"I can't, he's so excited, I can't ruin his big day," Brizee said. They went to the church. Brian was waiting out front.

"Forever," Brian said pulling her close. Brizee went in and saw Jane, Bob, and Aaron.

"Hey, where's the girls?" Brizee asked.

"BJ is bringing them," Jane said.

"Jane, can I talk to you?" Brizee said. They went to a private room and closed the door.

"What is it, sweetie," Jane said.

"I'm three months pregnant," Brizee said.

"Briz," Jane said.

"The baby is Nick's, it was after he got back together with Willa, I ran out and ran home, he came after me, we were hugging and one thing led to another and we were making love, he went back to Willa, I can't tell him, Jane, I don't want to ruin his big day, he's so excited," Brizee said.

An hour later, the ceremony began. Brizee sat there watching Nick and Willa exchange vows.

"Is there anyone who has a reason why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace," the minister asked. Jane looked at Brizee. Jane stood up.

"Jane," Bob said.

"Nick, you can't marry her," Jane said.

"Mom," Nick said.

"Jane, sit down," Bob said.

"No, Bob, Nick deserves to know the truth," Jane said.

"Mom, what is going on," Nick said.

"We don't want you marrying Willa," Jane said.

"Mom, you can't control my life," Nick said.

"Jane, sit down," Bob said.

"We don't like you, Willa, you are totally wrong for him," Jane said.

"Mom, stop this, okay, I'm 23 years old, I'm not a little boy anymore, I have grown up," Nick said. Brizee got up and pulled Jane back in her seat.

"Let him go," Brizee said. The ceremony continued. Nick and Willa were pronounced husband and wife. They kissed.

"May I present to you, Mr. and Mrs. Nickolas Gene Carter," the minister said. Nick and Willa walked up the aisle. Everyone went to the reception. Brizee sat there. Leighanne sat down beside her.

"Hey, you okay," Leighanne said.

"Are you going to tell him?" Leighanne asked.

"Tell what," Nick said sitting down.

"Hey, you okay," Nick said. She collapsed in his arms. He fell to the floor with her in his arms. Everyone crowded around them. Leighanne knelt down beside them.

"Nick, what happened," Leighanne said.

"I think she fainted," Nick said. He noticed her stomach.

"Did she say anything?" Leighanne asked.

"Just my name, is she getting fat," Nick said.

"No, Nick, she's pregnant," Leighanne said.

"What," Nick said. Willa came through and knelt down.

"Nick, is she going to be okay or should I call for an ambulance?" Willa asked.

"She just fainted, Willa, she's pregnant," Nick said.

"Who's the father?" Willa asked.

What, Willa said.

The night you and I got back together, when I went after her, she and I slept together, it was unprotected, how far along is she, Nick said.

The next day, Brizee was at Nicks house. Willa was packing. Brizee sat there while Nick and Willa talked.

The ambulance arrived and loaded Brizee up and they went to the hospital. Nick and Willa followed. He called the guys. They arrived and went to find where Brizee was.

Sir, you cant go in there, a nurse said. Nick walked in and saw them working on Brizee. He heard a machine with a flatline. Two orderlies pulled him out. They brought him out to the waiting room and sat him down. Willa sat down.

She flatlined, oh god, Nick said burying his face in his hands.

Nick, you have to pray, Willa said. Brian, Leighanne, Kevin, Kristin, Howie, Sarah, AJ, and Amanda came in.

The next few days were fun for the girls, bad for the guys. Brian and Nick couldnt get Brizee and Leighanne to speak or see them. Leighanne and Brizee were sitting in Brizees house while Brian and Nick were pounding on the door.

How much longer should we do this, Leighanne said.

We have to see how desperate they are for us, Brizee said.

Well, it keeps them from hanging over Sarah, Leighanne said. Brizee nodded.

You sure dont show it! Brizee said. He pulled her close and kissed her hungrily. She pushed him away.

Its too late, Nick, Brizee said. She turned away from him.

Fine, be that way, Nick said. He walked out. Brizee started packing. She heard Leighanne yelling and she heard the front door slam. Leighanne came into the bedroom.

The sooner we leave the better, Im sick of him, Leighanne said. Brizee nodded. They got their stuff and went downstairs and put it in Brizees car. Kristin and Amanda came and put their stuff in the car. Brizee closed the trunk. They got into the car and left.

Brian and Nick came over and got in the house to talk to us, it didnt go well, Leighanne said.

Nick sat in his house. Kevin, Brian, and AJ came in. Nick looked at them and looked back at the blank TV.

Nick, Briz, Leighanne, Kristin, and Amanda left town, AJ said.

What! Nick said.

They packed Brizees car and left town, we dont know where and they arent answering their cell phones, Kevin said.

We have to find them, Nick said.

Nick, we dont know where they are going, okay, Kevin said.

So you guys are just going to sit here and do nothing, Nick said. Brian shrugged.

What can we do, Nick, we cant go find them when we dont know where they are going, Brian said.

Nick, what happened between you and Briz? Kevin asked.

I think we broke up or something, I dont know, I kissed her and she pushed me away and said it was too late, too late for what, Nick said.

Well, we have been spending a lot of time with Sarah and less time with our girls, they felt like we didnt think they were important, Kevin said.

Two months later, the girls returned to town. They went to Brizees house and showered.

That was a fun trip, now its time to talk to the guys, Kristin said. Amanda nodded.

Brizee went to Nicks house. She got out of her car and stood there and saw the front door open and Nick came out with Willa. They were hanging all over each other. Willa looked up and saw Brizee. I went to his house and was going to go up to the door, he came out with Willa and they were hanging all over each other, Brizee said.

Yeah, Briz, you are having a baby, if he wants to be with Willa, let him, start over with your baby, Howie said. Brizee hugged them and went home and found Nick sitting on her doorstep. She got out of her car and walked up to where he was.

I thought you werent coming back, Nick said.

Then you didnt know me as well as you thought you did, Brizee said. She unlocked her door and went in. Nick followed her.

Willa and I arent back together, she and I are friends and we hung out, and she helped me pick this out for you, Nick said holding up the ring. She walked over and stood in front of him.

Are you serious about this, Brizee said.

Will you marry me? Nick asked. Brizees eyes filled with tears. She looked at him and nodded.

Yes, yes I will, Brizee said. Nick smiled and slid the ring on her hand. He got it halfway on and it got stuck.

They couldve at least took us with them, Kristin said.

Leighanne, Amanda, can you two go get my stuff from Nicks, Brizee said handing Leighanne the keys. They left. Kristin looked at Brizee.

An hour later, Leighanne and Amanda came back with her stuff.

Someone pounded on the door. Leighanne looked out and saw Nick. She looked at Brizee.
