I was sitting in the hotel room in Orlando, Florida that I shared with my best friend, Amy. We came down to stop a wedding. Brian was getting married. He’s Amy’s favorite Backstreet Boy. Nick’s my favorite. He just broke up with his girlfriend because she was rude to his fans. Amy came into the room.

"Okay, I have all the info, it starts in fifteen minutes," Amy said. 

Amy was a very caring person. When she had her mind set on something, she went after it. Me, on the other hand, was a little shy.  I was more of a follower than a go getter.  We went to the church and saw cars and a limo. We snuck in and hid. I was getting scared and nervous. Amy stood outside the door and listened. I stood back and watched. She peeked in and saw everyone. She saw the bride and groom. She saw Kevin, Nick, Howie, and AJ standing by the groom. I peeked in and looked at Nick. Amy heard the minister and opened the door and walked in.

"I object!" Amy said. I stayed out of sight.

"What reason?" the minister asked.

"Brian, you can’t marry Leighanne, she’s using you!" Amy said.

"What!" Brian said.

"Brian, I…" Leighanne started.

"You mean it’s true," Brian said.

"I’m sorry," Leighanne said.

“Can we talk alone?” Brian asked her. They went into a room. An hour later, Brian came out and went over to Kevin.  Brian walked up the aisle. He walked to Amy and pulled her out of the room and into the entrance. I watched.

"Who are you?" Brian asked.

"I’m Amy, I’m a fan, I have been since I was in the eighth grade, I had a feeling she was using you for a long time," Amy said.

“Well, are you telling the truth, I mean, I loved Leighanne, and she told me that it was true, how did you know,” Brian said.

“It’s a long story,” Amy said.

"Want to go somewhere and you can tell me the story," Brian said.

"Well I came with someone, oh, there you are, Bri," Amy said.

"Yeah, I thought I would stand clear," I said.

"I’m Brian," Brian said.

"I know, I’m Bri," I said shaking his hand.

"Bri," Amy said.

"Go, go with him, I’ll find my way back to the hotel," I said.

"Where are you two from anyway," Brian said.

"Missouri," we said.

"And you came all this way," Brian said.

“Yeah,” Amy said.

"Bye Bri, nice meeting you," Brian said.

"You, too," I said.

They left. I heard commotion but I walked out on the steps and sat down.

"Excuse me, miss, do you know where Brian Littrell is?" a voice behind me asked. I looked up and saw Nick standing there.

"Yeah, he just left with my friend," I said.

"Is your friend the one who stopped the wedding?" Nick asked.

"Yeah," I said. He sat down beside me.

"I’m Nick," Nick said.

"I know, I’m a fan, I’m Bri," I said shaking his hand. We sat and talked.

"How old are you, Bri?" Nick asked.

"How old do I look?" I said.

"Um, 18?" Nick said.

"Thanks for the compliment, I’m the same age as you," I said.

"Really," Nick said.

"Yeah, I was born February, 4th, 1980," I said.

"A week after me, whoa!" Nick said.

"Yeah," I said smiling.

"You have a pretty smile," Nick said. I blushed.

"Frack, are you making her blush?" AJ asked.

"All I said that she has a pretty smile," Nick said. I started blushing again. Nick smiled. That made me blush even more.

"Now, Frack, don’t turn her into a cherry now, hi, I’m AJ," AJ said.

"She knows, AJ, she’s a fan," Nick said.

"Who’s your favorite, let me guess, Brian," AJ said.

"Nope," I said.

"Kevin," AJ said.

"No, Nick is," I said.

"She’s the same age as me and her birthday is seven days after mine," Nick said.

"My name is Bri," I said.

"That is a pretty name," AJ said. I started blushing again.

"AJ, don't you turn her into a cherry either!" Nick said. Kevin and Howie laughed.

"Well, it was great to meet you guys but I want to go for a swim," I said standing up. I started walking.

"Hey Bri, do you need a ride?" Nick asked.

"That would be great," I said smiling. Nick smiled. He got up and led me to his Durango.

"Hey, wait for us!" AJ said.

"Ramada Inn," I said. They got into AJ's Explorer and went to the hotel.

"Hey Bri, get your swimsuit and we'll go swim at my house, it will be private for us guys," Nick said.

"All right, I'll be right back," I said getting out and running up to my room. I grabbed my swimsuit and a few things. I put them into a bag and went back out to Nick's Durango and climbed in. We went to Nick's house. Nick gave me a grand tour and showed me to a spare bedroom where I could change. I changed into my swimsuit and put a white T-shirt over it. I went downstairs and saw AJ and Howie by the pool.

"Whoo! sexy mama!" AJ said. I started blushing.

"Bri, shouldn't you take the shirt off before getting into the pool," AJ said.

"AJ, you just want to see her body," Howie said.

"Damn straight," AJ said.

"Okay, AJ, you really want to see my body," I said.

"Yeah," AJ said.

I pulled off my shirt to reveal my bikini. AJ's eyes went wide.

"Whoo! Baby," AJ said. I laughed and sat down on a lounge chair.

"What's going on out here?" Nick asked as he and Kevin came out in their swim trunks.

"AJ's flirting with Bri because of the way she looks in her swimsuit," Howie said. Nick came over to me.

"Hi," I said.

"Is AJ being bad?" Nick asked.

"Yeah, I'll get him later," I said.

"Thatta girl," Nick said smiling. Howie and Kevin got into the pool. Nick stood up and looked at me.

"Aren't you coming into the pool," Nick said.

I got up and went into the water and stayed in the shallow end. Nick swam over to me.

"Are you going to the deep end of the pool?" Nick asked.

"I'm not a good swimmer, I like being in the water but not a good swimmer," I said.

"Hey, that's okay, I'll stay here with you, okay," Nick said.

"Okay," I said smiling.

We talked. AJ swam over to us.

"What are you two doing?" AJ asked.

"Talking," we said.

"About?" AJ asked.

"How to hurt you," I said giggling. AJ pushed me under. I came back up and glared at him and pushed him under. He picked me up and threw me into the deep end. I came back up and went under to swim to the edge. I came up and held on to the side of the pool. I heard Nick yelling at AJ.

He swam over to me.

"Are you okay, Bri?" Nick asked.

"I'm going to kill AJ," I said.

"Come on, I'll help you back to the shallow end, I'll protect you from AJ," Nick said.

"Thanks," I said. He helped me back to the shallow end.

"Bri, I'm sorry, I didn't know you weren't a good swimmer," AJ said.

"Just don't do it again, AJ," I said.

"I promise," AJ said.

Chapter 2

That night, I was in my hotel room. Amy came in looking dreamily.

"What's up with you?" I asked.

"Bri, Brian asked me to be his girlfriend," Amy said.

"And you said yes," I said.

"Well, of course, so what did you do?" Amy asked.

"I went swimming with Nick, AJ, Howie, and Kevin," I said.

"Where at?" Amy asked.

"Nick's house," I said.

"Cool," Amy said.

She left to go meet Brian. I watched TV. There was a knock at the door. I opened the door and saw Nick standing there.

"Nick, hi, come in," I said.

He came in and sat down. I sat down in the chair.

"Bri, I need to talk to you about something," Nick said.

"Okay, I'm listening," I said.

"Bri, I have feelings for you, I have had them from the first moment I met you," Nick said standing up and pulling me up.

"Nick, I feel the same way about you, but there is something you should know," I said walking around the room.

"What's that?" Nick asked.

"I never had a boyfriend before, I have never been with a guy before, I haven't even had a first kiss," I said. Nick came over to me.

"Let me be your first boyfriend, your first kiss, your first everything, I want to be with you," Nick said cupping my face in his hands. He leaned in and I felt his lips on mine. He pulled back and looked at me and smiled.

"There's your first kiss," Nick said. I smiled. He kissed me again. He kissed me softly. He pulled back.

"You know how to kiss now," Nick said.

"Yeah," I said.

He kissed me again. He wrapped his arms around my waist as my arms went around his neck. We kissed for a long time. He pulled back and rested his forehead against mine.

"Will you be my girlfriend, Bri?" Nick asked.

"Yes," I said.

"Promise me you won't hurt me like Mandy did," Nick said.

"I promise," I said.

We kissed again and laid on the couch and kissed. An hour later, Nick left and I collapsed on my bed and sighed. I turned on the radio. I heard the DJ talking.

"Now here is the new single from the Backstreet Boys, here is The One," she said. The song came on and I listened to it. When I heard Nick singing, I'd smile. My smile faded when I realized that Amy and I are suppose to go back to Missouri. I heard her come in after the song was over. I got up and went out and saw Amy and Brian.

"Hi," I said.

"Hi Bri," Brian said.

"Hi, Amy, we need to talk," I said.

"Sure, I'll be right back, Brian," Amy said.

"Can I watch TV?" Brian asked.

"Yeah," we said.

Amy and I went into the bedroom. She sat on the bed. She was smiling.

"Amy, do you know what happens tomorrow," I said. Her smile faded.

"Oh god, we are suppose to go back home tomorrow," Amy said.

I told Amy about what happened between Nick and me.

"We have to tell them, you go and tell Nick, do it now," Amy said. I grabbed my shoes and put them on and went out the door. I got into the rental car and drove to Nick's house. I went up to the door. I knocked. I heard shouting inside. I knocked louder. The door opened to reveal Nick. He had an angry look on his face. The look faded when he saw me.

"Hey," Nick said.

"I heard shouting, what's going on?" I asked.

"Nick, we’re not finished yet," a blond girl said coming into the foyer.

"Yes we are, Mandy," Nick said angrily.

"Oh, so you’re Mandy," I said.

"Who are you?" Mandy asked.

"This is my girlfriend, Bri," Nick said.

"Her! She's the ugliest girl I have ever seen!" Mandy said.

"Mandy, get out!" Nick yelled. He grabbed her arm and pulled her out the door. He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me inside and shut the door. I felt like crying.

"Are you okay?" Nick said as we sat on the couch.

"She's right, I'm ugly," I said crying.

"No, you are not, you are beautiful in my eyes, I don't like you for your looks, I like you for what's inside," Nick said. I smiled a little.

"Thanks," I said.

"So, what's up?" Nick said. I stood up and walked over to the window.

"I'm leaving tomorrow, Nick, me and Amy have to get back home," I said.

"What," Nick said.

"I don't want to, but we have a job to get back to, and our families," I said tears running down my face.

"Bri, I don't want you to go, move here, move in with me," Nick said.

"Nick, I have the job to pay for my car up there, I don't know if I can, my parents probably won't let me move down here," I said.

"I'll go back with you, pay off your car, we can drive it back down here, Bri, I'll talk to your parents, I want to be with you, I don't want to lose you," Nick said as he cupped my face in his hands and pressed his lips against mine. We kissed for a long time. We laid on the couch and kissed.

Chapter 3

The next day, we were at the hotel room. I was packing my stuff. Amy was packing hers. Then we checked out and met Brian and Nick at the airport. We went to Missouri. I dropped Brian and Amy off at her house and Nick and I went to my house. I walked in with my stuff and saw my parents in the living room.

"Mom, Dad, I want you to meet Nick," I said. Nick came in.

"Nick, as in Nick Carter," my father said.

"Yeah," I said.

"I'm Craig and this is Susan, we are her parents," Dad said.

"Hi," Nick said.

I put my stuff in my room and came back out and sat on the couch. Nick sat next to me.

"Mom, Dad, I have to talk to you about something," I said.

"Are you and Nick a couple?" Mom asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"Now, what," Mom said.

"I want to move out, I want to move to Florida, to be with Nick, I think it's time for me to be on my own, not have to depend on you two forever," I said.

"Bri, what about your car and your job," Mom said.

"I'll pay off her car, Mrs. Hardin, I care about Bri, I want to be with her," Nick said wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

"What about your job?" Dad asked.

"I'll quit, I'll go in and give my two weeks notice, I don't want to work there anymore, I hate it," I said. The phone rang. I answered it.

"Hello, yes, hi Glenda, what, okay, I'll be right there," I said. I hung up and looked at my parents.

"I have to go to work, Glenda needs me to come in, I get to check," I said running to my room and changed my clothes. I came back out and grabbed my orange shirt.

"Now, Dad, are you going to behave yourself," I said.

"Brizee, don't worry, we’ll be fine, go to work," Mom said.

I hugged Nick and got into my car and went to work. Three hours later, Amy and I went home.

Chapter 4

Two weeks later, it was mine and Amy's last day at work. Ben was upset.

"Now, Ben, we'll miss you, we'll come visit you," Amy said.

"I know, I'll just miss you guys," Ben said.

"Ben sandwich," I said. Amy and I hugged Ben. We hugged everyone. It got busy. I saw Nick and Brian coming in. Amy was checking. I was sacking. I went to the back and was talking to Dan.

"6 carryout on two, please, six," Amy said over the intercom. I said bye and walked out of the backroom and saw Nick and Brian standing at the

dairy case looking at the pudding. I walked to the front.

"Brizee, can you come to the back, please," I heard Chastain say over to the intercom. I got Josh to take over for me and walked to the back. I saw

Chastain in the backroom talking with Dan.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Since this is your last day, we thought to make it special," Chastain said. I walked over to the breakroom and saw cake on the table. It said:

Goodbye Brizee and Amy, we will miss you! Everyone at BigV. I smiled.

"Thanks you," I said. I ate some cake.

"Okay, now could you take over for Amy and send her back here," Chastain said. I walked through the doors and saw Brian and Nick walking towards me. I smiled and ran up front. I took over for Amy and

she went to the back. Ten minutes later, she came back up. I went to aisle two where Jason was stocking.

"Need help?" I asked.

"Yeah," Jason said. I helped stock. Jason and I were talking and laughing. I got up on the ladder to cart so I could put stuff up on the top of the shelves. Jason handed me a box and I put it up on top. I jumped up on top to move some stuff. I heard Nick's voice.

"Hey, Jason, right," Nick said.

"Yeah," Jason said.

"Have you seen Brizee?" Nick asked.

"Are you looking for me?" I asked.

Nick looked up and saw me and smiled.

"Hey you, your mother wants me to get some ice cream, what flavor do you want?" Nick asked.

"Chocolate!" I said.

"Brizee, could you come to register two for a moment, Brizee," Amy said over the intercom. I looked towards the checkouts.

"Hey, Amy, I can't come, what do you need?" I called to her.

"I need you to scan the alcohol," Amy called back.

"Hey Jason, can you go scan the alcohol for Amy, please," I said.

He went to the register. I stood up there and waited.

"Brizee, you have a phone call, Brizee," Glenda said over the intercom. I groaned and jumped onto the ladder cart and got on the floor and went to the front and picked up the phone.

"Hello," I said.

"Bri, it's Mom, are Brian and Nick there?" she asked.

"Yeah," I said.

"Ask them to get a cake, too," Mom said.

"Okay," I said. I hung up and went back over to the aisle and saw Nick and Brian still standing there.

"My mother wants you two to get a cake, too," I said jumping back on the ladder cart.

"Okay," Nick said as he and Brian headed for the bakery. I got back on top. Jason handed stuff up to me. At closing time, I walked up to the front. I saw Amy handing her stuff to Glenda. I took off my shirt. I saw tears in Glenda’s eyes. I handed my shirt to her.

"I’ll miss you two," Glenda said.

"We will miss you, Glenda, we’ll come back and visit," Amy said.

"Yeah," I said.

We hugged her and clocked out for the last time. We hugged everyone and walked out the door the last  time. We walked to my car and drove to my house. We saw Amy’s parents’ vehicle there. We went inside and saw everyone talking in the living room. We sat down and talked with them.

Chapter 5

Three weeks later, Amy and I were settled in Florida. I was living with Nick. She was living with Brian. Nick and I were cuddled in front of the TV. There was a knock at the door. Nick got up and opened the door

and saw Mandy standing there.

"What do you want!" Nick said angrily.

"I want to apologize to Bri for what I said to her before, I was way mean and upset, is she here?" Mandy said. I came to the door and looked at her.

"Bri, I’m sorry, I’m sorry for calling you ugly, I didn’t mean it, I was upset and hurt and that was very mean of me to say," Mandy said.

"Thanks you," I said.

"I have to go, that’s all I wanted to say, bye," Mandy said.

Nick closed the door and pulled me close. We kissed deeply. Nick moved to the couch and we laid down and kissed for a long time. His hands rested at my waist and my arms were wrapped around his neck.

"Bri," Nick said.

"Yeah," I said.

"I love you," Nick said. I looked at him and smiled.

"I love you, too," I said. He smiled and we kissed again. We cuddled up and watched TV. An hour later, we kissed goodnight and went to our rooms and went to sleep. The next morning, I woke up and got up and changed my clothes and went downstairs. I laid down on the couch and fell back asleep. Nick came downstairs and saw Bri asleep on the couch. He smiled and went to her and knelt down beside the couch and stroked her cheek. She awoke to his touch and smiled.

"Hey, morning," Nick said.

"Morning," I said covering my mouth with my hand.

"What are you doing?" Nick asked.

"I have bad breath in the morning, I need to go brush my teeth," I said getting up and running upstairs. I brushed my teeth and came back

downstairs and sat down on the couch. Nick sat next to me and put a hand on my chin and turned my face towards his. He pressed his lips softly against mine. He looked at the time.

"I have to go, have a busy day, I'll see you later, okay," Nick said.

"Okay," I said. Nick kissed me again. He smiled.

"You are getting better," Nick said.

"I had a good teacher," I said smiling. He smiled and kissed me again before heading out the door. I turned on the TV. Eight hours later, I laid down on the couch and fell asleep. Nick pulled into the driveway and walked into the house and saw Bri lying on the couch, asleep. The TV was still on. He knelt down beside her and stroked her cheek. She woke up and looked at him and smiled.

"Hey, you tired?" Nick asked.

"A little," I said sitting up and stretching.

Nick sat on the couch next to me and turned my face towards him and pressed his lips softly against mine. We kissed passionately for a long time. 

Chapter 6

Three months later, Nick and I were closer than ever. Amy and Brian are close. I was sitting in mine and Nick's house, watching a basketball game when Brian came in.

"Hey Bri," Brian said sitting down next to me.

"Hey B, what's up," I said.

"Nothing, watching the game," Brian said.

"Yeah, hey, want to go shoot some hoops?" I asked.

"Sure," Brian said. We went to the basketball court and played a game. After we were done, we went back to Brian's house. We walked in and saw Nick and Amy sitting on the couch kissing. Brian dropped his basketball. Nick and Amy sprang apart and looked at us with shocked faces. 

"Oh my god," Amy said.

"How could you do this to me! How could you two do this to us!" Brian yelled.

"Brian, we..." Amy started.

"Come on, Bri, let's go," Brian said. He walked outthe door and I followed. We went to the Orlando Hotel and Brian got the suite he always had. We went into the room and sat down.

"How could they, how could they do this," Brian said. I got up and went to the liquor cabinet and opened it. Brian came and grabbed a bottle of whiskey. I grabbed two glasses. Brian poured some into the glasses and we drank it. He poured more and we drank. Then everything was a blur. The next morning, I woke up and cringed. I slowly sat up and grabbed my head and held it. My vision cleared up. I  glanced down and saw that I didn't have a shirt on. I lifted the blanket and saw that I was completely naked. I looked over and saw Brian lying on his back, no shirt on. He was still asleep. I slowly got up and found my clothes and got dressed and went over to the window and sat there and stared out the window. I heard a grunt and a mumble and I knew Brian was waking up.

"Bri," I heard him say.

"Hi," I said not looking at him.

"What happened last night?" Brian asked.

"We got drunk and I think we slept together," I said staring out the window with tears in my eyes.

"Oh god," Brian said.

"I know, I can't believe it either," I said. I heard him getting up. I heard him getting dressed.

"Bri," Brian said.

"We made a mistake, Brian, it was a mistake," I said crying. I felt his arms around me.

"It was a mistake, it was, I love Amy, you love Nick, we were hurt, they can't know about this, they can't, they will be hurt," Brian said.

"I know," I said. We left the hotel and Brian took me home. I walked into the house and saw Nick lying on the couch asleep. I went up and took a shower and got out and wrapped myself in a towel and went to my room and got dressed. I heard a noise downstairs and realized that Nick must be up. I knew I couldn't face him, not after what I had done, but I couldn't

help but to see him. I went downstairs and saw him sitting up on the couch. He saw me and got up and came over to me.

"Bri, I'm sorry, for everything I have done, I'm sorry," Nick said.

"I forgive you, Nick," I said. He hugged me close and I was overwhelmed with guilt as I hugged him. He pulled back and kissed my lips softly.

"Bri, what’s wrong?" Nick asked.

"Nothing, nothing’s wrong," I said lying.

"Bri, you can tell me anything, I will understand, what’s wrong?" Nick asked.

"Nothing is wrong, Nick, okay, I’m fine," I said before walking upstairs. I went into my room and closed the door and locked it and collapsed on the

bed and cried. How could I tell him that I slept with his best friend. I cried for a long time. Little did I know that Nick was standing outside the room,

listening. Nick knocked on the door. The door opened to reveal a tear-eyed Bri.

"Hey, what’s wrong?" Nick asked.

"I love you, Nick!" I cried as I hugged him. His arms wrapped around me and held me tight.

"I love you, too," Nick said. I cried.

"Hey, it’s okay, what’s wrong, Bri, why are you so upset," Nick said starting to pull back but I held onto him.

"Don’t let me go, Nick, please," I said sobbing. He hugged me closer and stroked my back. The phone rang. Nick moved to get it. He wrapped his arms around me and led me into his bedroom and we sat on his bed. He picked it up.

"Hello," Nick said.

"Nick, it’s Donna, get packed up, you guys are going on a nine month tour starting tomorrow, sorry it’s short notice but you have to, Bri and Amy can come, so get Bri packed too," Donna said.

"Okay, thanks, Donna," Nick said before hanging up.

"What’s going on?" I asked.

"We are going on tour tomorrow for nine months, so get packed, you and Amy are going, too," Nick said getting up. I went into the bedroom and started packing. The next day, we were meeting the tour bus. Nick showed me his bunk and I climbed in. He kissed my forehead and went up front with the guys and Amy. I heard someone come into the bunk area. I turned and saw Brian.

"Bri, hey," Brian said.

"Hi," I said.

"Bri, I told Amy, she understood, she’s really forgiving, she said she will talk to you about it and she promised not to tell Nick anything," Brian said.

"Okay," I said.

Chapter 7

Four weeks later, we were in Seattle. I found out that I was pregnant. I told Amy and Brian.

"I don’t know what to do," I said. Amy sat beside me.

"Bri, get an abortion, if Nick finds out that you’re pregnant with my baby, he’ll kill me and hurt you," Brian said.

"Can someone take me?" I asked.

"We’ll go with you," Amy said. They took me to an abortion clinic.

Three hours later, we returned. I was in pain and I was exhausted. Nick wasn’t in the room when we went in. I laid down on the bed. Brian covered me up.

"Just rest, okay," Amy said.

"I will, thanks, you two, you are the bestest friends I could ever have," I said.

"Get some sleep," Brian said. They left. I went to sleep. The next morning, I woke up and saw Nick asleep beside me. I smiled and watched him sleep. He stirred and opened his eyes and looked at me and smiled.

"Hey, how long have you been awake?" Nick asked.

"I just woke up," I said.

"How are you feeling?" Nick asked.

"A little sore, but I’ll live, I just want to lay here and rest and sleep," I said.

"I wanted to go sightseeing," Nick said.

"You can go, I’ll be fine," I said.

"Are you sure?" Nick asked. I leaned over and kissed his lips tenderly.

"I’ll be fine," I said, even though I knew I wasn’t going to be fine. He smiled and kissed me deeply.

"I love you," Nick said.

"I know, I love you, too," I said. He got up and got dressed and kissed me and left. I laid there thinking about everything that has happened. Amy came in.

"Hey, girl, how are you feeling?" Amy said.

"I’m in pain, I don’t know how long this will last and Nick won’t like it," I said.

"But you did the right thing, Bri, think of what would happen if you told Nick the truth," Amy said.

Chapter 8

Three months later, I was feeling better. I was feeling more guilt every day. I couldn’t take it anymore. I got my stuff together. Nick and the guys

were at the venue. I wrote a long letter to Nick. I went to the airport and got on the next flight to Missouri.  Nick arrived at the hotel with the guys and Amy. He went to his room and walked in and saw it empty. He looked around.

"Bri," Nick said. He saw a letter on the coffee table. He opened it and saw a letter.

Nick, as you are reading this, I’m gone. I’m sorry. I have been feeling a lot of guilt lately. Although you don’t know why, I can’t tell you in a letter. I needed to get away to clear my head. I don’t know when or if I’ll be back. I want you to know that I love you more than anything. Please don’t come find me, because I need to be alone. Don’t bother to ask the guys or Amy where I am because they don’t know. I love you. Don’t come after me. Love always, Bri.

Nick dropped the letter and sat down and felt like his life was over. He felt tears in his eyes. Brian and Amy came in.

"Hey man," Brian said. Amy saw his tears.

"Nick, what’s wrong?" Amy asked. Nick handed her the letter. Amy read it. She handed it to Brian. He read it.

"Oh man," Brian said.

"Where could she have gone?" Nick said.

"I know," Amy said.

"She said you didn’t," Nick said.

"She wrote that I wouldn’t know but I do, one place, back home with her parents," Amy said.

"When is the next day off," Nick said.

"Tomorrow, we’re off for four days," Brian said.

"I’m calling the airlines," Nick said. He called and got a flight out tomorrow.

Chapter 9

Meanwhile…….in Missouri….the next day.

I was lying in my bedroom, staring at the ceiling.

"I’m sorry I did this, Nick, but it’s for the best, it’sbetter I leave before you do," I said to myself. There was a knock at the front door. I was home alone. I got up and walked out and opened the door and saw Nick standing there.

"We have to talk," Nick said.

"There’s nothing to talk about, just leave, Nick, move on, it’s for the best," I said. I closed the door. The door opened and he came in and closed the door.

"Nick," I said.

"I’m not letting you go that easily, I don’t know what’s going on, but I don’t want to lose you," Nick said.

"Nick, just go, please," I said turning away from him. He wrapped his arms around me.

"No, I love you, I can’t live without you, please, come back with me," Nick said.

"I can’t," I said crying.

"Bri," Nick said. I pulled away from him. He stood there.

"I did something bad, okay," I said crying.

"What," Nick said.

"Brian and I got drunk and slept together, okay!" I cried. I turned away from him and cried.

"When?" Nick asked.

"After we caught you and Amy kissing," I said crying. Nick wrapped his arms around me.

"I forgive you," Nick said. I stood there.

"What, Nick, I slept with your best friend," I said.

"We’re even, I consider it even, I kissed your best friend," Nick said.

"I’m not finished, remember when I was lying in bed because I was sore," I said.

"Yeah," Nick said.

"Nick, I was pregnant before that and I had an abortion, that’s why I was sore, I was in pain from the abortion," I said. I turned away again and cried quietly. I felt his arms around me.

"I forgive you, Bri, I love you so much, I don’t want to lose you, ever, let’s put this behind us, I know the truth now, you have nothing to hide from me, I can’t lose you, not now," Nick said.

"I love you, too," I said. We hugged for a long time.

"No more lies," Nick said.

"No more lies," I said.

"We will be honest to each other from now on," Nick said. I looked up at him.

"I need you, Nick," I said.

"I’m here," Nick said stroking my cheek.

"Nick, I need to you to make love to me, please," I said. He kissed my forehead and picked me up and carried me into my bedroom and closed the door. We laid on the bed.

"Waterbed, cool," Nick said. We pulled each other’s clothes off and we made love. Afterwards, we laid there holding each other. I rested my head on his damp, sweaty chest.

"I love you," Nick said.

"I love you, too," I said. We fell asleep holding each other. I woke up and heard the front door open and close.

"Bri!" Mom said. I woke Nick up. I got up and got dressed. Nick got up and got dressed. I quietly opened the bedroom door and peeked out. I didn’t see them. Nick and I snuck out and I went over to the front door and opened it and close it. Mom came in from the kitchen.

"Hi honey, hi Nick, where were you?" Mom asked.

"We went for a walk," I said.

Three days later, Nick and I headed back to the tour. We walked into the hotel and saw Brian and Amy.

"Hey Bri," Amy said hugging me.

"Hey," I said. Brian hugged me.

"Everything okay?" Brian asked.

"Everything’s fine," I said.

"I know the truth, everything, Brian, I forgive ya," Nick said. Brian smiled.

"Thank god," Brian said. We all went to our rooms. Nick and I walked into ours and closed the door. Nick picked me up and carried me into the bedroom and laid me on the bed and got on top of me. We kissed deeply. We pulled each other’s clothes off and we made love. We fell asleep holding each other. 

Chapter 10

Three months later, the tour was over and we were heading back to Orlando. Nick and I went to our house and sat down and rested.

"I’m going to go lay down, I need sleep," Nick said.

"Okay," I said.

"You coming?" Nick asked.

"I’m not really tired, I’ll watch some TV," I said.

"Okay, love you," Nick said kissing my forehead.

"I love you, too," I said. He went upstairs. I turned on the TV and laid down on the couch. 

Five months later, Nick and I were closer than ever. Brian and Amy were closer than ever. I was sitting in  the living room of mine and Nick’s house. Amy came running in with Brian behind her.

"Hey Bri, where’s Nick?" Amy asked.

"I don’t know, I woke up and he was gone, I haven’t seen him all day," I said.

"Where could that boy be?" Brian asked.

"What if he’s cheating on me," I said.

"What, Bri, no, Nick loves you, he’s crazy about you, he talks about you nonstop about how much he loves you, how he can’t live without you, how much he needs you," Brian said. I looked at Brian.

"I found lipstick on his shirt, and I don’t wear makeup," I said. Brian and Amy looked at each other.

"We better confront him," Brian said. They sat down and we waited. Nick came in and saw us.

"Hey," Nick said.

"Nick, buddy, sit down, we have to talk to you," Brian said. Nick sat down.

"What’s up?" Nick asked.

"Are you cheating on Bri?" Brian asked.

"What, no, I could never do that," Nick said.

"Then explain the lipstick on your shirt, Bri was doing laundry and came across the shirt you wore yesterday, there was lipstick on the collar, and Bri doesn’t wear makeup," Brian said.

"An obsessed fan," Nick said.

"Nick, just tell the truth, will you!" Amy said.

"I am, a crazed fan tried to kiss me, but kissed my shirt instead because I wouldn’t let her kiss me," Nick said. I got up and went upstairs and start packing a bag. Nick came in and saw my bag.

"What are you doing?" Nick asked.

"What’s it look like!" I said.

"Bri, don’t leave me," Nick said.

"I can’t stay here!" I said. He wrapped his arms around me. I stopped.

"Yes, you can, Bri, I’m not cheating on you, I swear to god, I’m not cheating on you," Nick said. I shook him off and continued packing.

"Don’t do this, Bri, please," Nick said.

"Leave me alone!" I said. I zipped up my bag and went downstairs and said goodbye to Amy and Brian and left. I went back to Missouri and to my parents’ house. I told my mother the story and she hugged me.

Chapter 11

Two years later, I received an invitation to a wedding. Amy and Brian were getting married. Ever since I left, I have been keeping up with the band news. AJ and Amanda got married. Nick was still single. I flew to Orlando and went to the church. I walked in and saw Nick, Howie, AJ, and Amanda talking. Amanda looked up and saw me.

"Bri!" Amanda said as she ran to me. We hugged.

"Hey girl, I heard the news, congratulations," I said.

"Thank you, I wish you were there, it was a nonstop party," Amanda said.

"Me, too," I said. AJ and Howie came up to me and they hugged me.

"Hey girl, we missed ya," AJ said.

"I missed you guys, too, how does it feel, AJ," I said.

"Feels great," AJ said wrapping his arms around Amanda.

"So, where’s the brides’ room?" I asked.

"Follow me," Amanda said. I followed her out the door. Nick came up to AJ and Howie.

"Hey Frack, you still want her back, don’t you," AJ said.

"More than anything," Nick said.

"Tell her the truth, I’ll tell her that I borrowed your shirt," AJ said.

"And that you did, I can’t believe you let Amanda kiss you and got lipstick on my shirt, it’s your fault, AJ, you fix this!" Nick said. He headed for the grooms’ room.

Chapter 12

Meanwhile in the brides’ room…

"This is the happiest day of my life, I’m marrying the man I love and my best friend is with me," Amy said hugging me. I smiled and hugged her back.

"I wouldn’t have missed this for anything," I said.

"Did you see Nick?" Amy asked.

"Yeah, but I didn’t talk to him," I said. There was a knock at the door. Amanda opened the door and saw AJ.

"Bri, can I talk to you?" AJ asked. I went out the door and followed AJ outside and we sat down on the steps.

"What’s up?" I asked.

"Nick didn’t cheat on you, Bri, I borrowed that shirt and Amanda kissed my neck and got it on the shirt collar, that’s the truth, Bri, I would never lie about anything like that, it’s the truth," AJ said.

"Oh my god, I’m an idiot!" I said burying my face in my hands.

"You’re not a idiot, you didn’t know the truth, now you do," AJ said. I got up and ran inside and looked around for Nick. I saw him talking to Howie. I went over to them.

"Nick, can we talk?" I asked.

"Yeah," Nick said. We went outside.

"I’m sorry," I said.

"What about?" Nick asked.

"About not believing you, AJ told me the truth, I’m so sorry," I said.

"Hey, you didn’t know, you thought I cheated on you and I didn’t, I could never cheat on you," Nick said.

"I know that now," I said.

"Can we get back together, please," Nick said.

"I would really like that, a lot," I said. He pulled me close and we kissed.

"I missed that," Nick said.

"Me, too," I said. We kissed again. We heard clapping. We broke apart and saw Howie, AJ, and Amanda standing at the doorway, smiling and clapping. They went back inside. Nick and I looked at each other.

"Let’s start over, no secrets and lies, let’s always be honest with each other," Nick said stroking my cheek. I bit my lip and looked at my hands.

"What is it," Nick said.

"Then I better tell you this now," I said.

"What," Nick said.

"When I left, I went home to my parents, a week later, I found out that I was pregnant," I said. 

"You were pregnant," Nick said.

"Yeah, but three weeks later, I miscarried," I said.

"You miscarried, oh baby," Nick said hugging me close. I rested my head on his chest.

"I wanted to call you and tell you, but something inside me told me not to, I should’ve called you," I said.

"Yes, you should’ve, but that voice was probably telling you to just put it behind you and move on," Nick said.

"It was really painful, this miscarriage, I felt like a part of me died," I said. He kissed my head.

"Let’s put it in the past, okay, let’s start fresh, no lies, no secrets," Nick said.

"I love you," I said.

"I love you, too, baby," Nick said. I looked up at him and we kissed. We got up and went in. I went to the brides’ room. I walked in and saw Amy in her wedding gown.

"Amy, you look beautiful, Brian will faint when he sees you," I said.

"Thanks, Bri," Amy said.

"Nick and I are back together, AJ told me the truth," I said sitting down.

"That’s great, about time, Nick was miserable," Amy said. I smiled a little.

"Bri, what’s wrong, girl," Amy said. I told her about my pregnancy and the miscarriage. Amy hugged me after I was done telling her the story.

"Nick and I have started over, no lies, and no secrets, total honesty," I said.

"That’s good," Amy said.

"I really love him, Amy," I said. There was a knock at the door. I opened it a little and saw Jackie.

"Jackie, hi," I said smiling. She came in and we hugged.

"Bad news, Amy, your sister, Tracy, missed the plane down here, she got on another plane but it won’t be here until after you and Brian are gone,

you don’t have a maid of honor," Jackie said.

"Bri," Amy said.

"I’ll be your maid of honor," I said. Amy hugged me. Jackie went to the grooms’ room. She walked in and saw Harold SR, Brian, Harold JR, Kevin, and Nick sitting around.

"What’s up, Mom," Brian said.

"Well, Amy’s sister, Tracy, missed the plane, her other sister, Mandy, couldn’t come because of her job, but her parents are here," Jackie said.

"Who’s her maid of honor?" Brian asked.

"Bri," Jackie said.

"Okay," Brian said. Jackie went out and sat down. Amy’s father knocked on the door. I opened the door.

"It’s time," Roy said. Amy and I stood up. I was in the dress that Tracy was suppose to wear. The doors were closed. I heard organ music. I heard

talking. It was Jackie.

"Okay, there has been a change, the maid of honor is not Amy’s sister, Tracy, she missed the plane down here and got on another one but it won’t be here until after everything is over, the new maid of honor is Amy’s best friend, Bri Hardin," Jackie said. She sat down. The music started again. The doors opened. I took a deep breath. I walked down the aisle. Everyone was looking at me. I stopped and stood where I was suppose to. The doors closed again. I looked over at Nick. He was gazing at me. I smiled at him. He winked at me. The wedding march started up. The doors opened and everyone stood up. Amy and Roy walked down the aisle. They arrived at the altar and Roy sat down and the ceremony began. They were pronounced husband and wife and they kissed. Everyone clapped. They walked up the aisle. Harold JR and I walked up the aisle. Everyone went to the reception. Brian, Amy, Harold JR, and I were sitting at the wedding party table.

"Hey, Bri, thanks for stepping in at the last minute," Brian said.

"Hey, she’s my best friend, I was glad to do it," I said.

"What am I, chopped liver," Brian said.

"No, you’re my best friend, too!" I said.

"I better be," Brian said.

"You are," I said. He got up and hugged me.

"You’re my best friend, too," Brian said.

"I know, Amy, get your new husband off of me," I said.

"Brian, sit down," Amy said.

"No," Brian said.

"Sit down or no honeymoon," Amy said.

"I’ll sit down," Brian said sitting down. I giggled. Nick came up and stood in front of me.

"Hey, what are you giggling about?" Nick asked.

"At Brian," I said. I whispered what just happened. He smiled and laughed.  It was time for cake. Then the first dance. Then everyone joined in on the dance floor. Nick pulled me close and we danced. I wrapped my arms around his neck. His arms went around my waist. We stared into each other’s eyes. He leaned in and whispered in my ear.

"After we leave, I’m taking you to my boat," he whispered. I smiled. I kissed his neck. Harold JR was up on the stage.

"Can I have your attention please, would my little brother and my new sister-in-law, please come to the front," Harold JR said. Amy and Brian went to the front of the crowd. Nick stood behind me and wrapped his arms around me. We watched Harold JR.

"Okay, it’s time for speeches, since I’m the best man, I go first," Harold JR said. I groaned softly.

"You’ll do fine," Nick whispered in my ear.

"Okay, what can I say about my little brother, he’s not so little anymore, he’s gone and got himself married, to a wonderful girl, who I am glad is my sister-in-law, Amy, Brian, I wish you both the best, I love you, bro," Harold JR said. He got off stage and hugged Brian. He got back on.

"Okay, let’s hear from our maid of honor, hey Bri, get up here, girl," Harold JR said. I walked up and smacked Harold JR in the arm.

"Ow!" Harold JR said.

"Wimp!" Brian said. Everyone laughed. Harold JR got offstage.

"Okay, as the maid of honor, I guess I have to make a speech, something I’m not good at doing," I said.

"You can do it, dork!" Amy said. I looked at her.

"I will, brat!" I said. Everyone laughed.

"Hey!" Amy said.

"Okay, what can I say, um, oh yeah, I hope you two are very happy together, Brian, you better take good care of her, or I’ll make you pay," I said.

"Yeah right," Brian said.

"Don’t temp me, okay, now, Amy, you better be good, no Dr. Pepper for you!" I said.

"Hey!" Amy said.

"Everyone, if there is Dr. Pepper around, get rid of it, she lives on that and she gets crazy and does crazy things, it’s a mess," I said.

"I want my Dr. Pepper!" Amy said.

"Brian, you have one crazy wife there," I said.

"I know, she’s my other half, I’m as crazy as she is," Brian said.

"I don’t think so, I know how crazy you are and she’s crazier than that, much more crazier," I said.

"Oh, I see," Brian said.

"Okay, enough of that, allright, you two are a match made in heaven, hope you be together forever," I said. I got offstage and hugged them. They left for their honeymoon. Nick and I went to his Durango after I got my dress that I wore to the church. We went to the marina. We got on his boat and he drove out to sea. He stopped a half hour later. I sat there looking up at the sky. He came over and wrapped his arms around me. I leaned back against him.

"It’s so peaceful," I said.

"Yeah, it is," Nick said kissing my neck. I moaned. He continued kissing my neck.

"Oh Nick," I said softly.

"I want you, right now, Bri," Nick said.

"Make me yours again, Nick," I said. He laid me on the floor of the boat and laid on top of me. We removed each other’s clothing and we made love. Afterwards, we laid there holding each other.

"I’ve missed this so much," Nick said.

"Me, too," I said.

"Bri, promise me that you will never leave me again," Nick said.

"I promise, I couldn’t leave you if my life depended on it," I said. He kissed my forehead. We laid there looking up at the stars. We got dressed and Nick drove the boat back to land. We went home and went to bed.

Chapter 13

Three weeks later, I was not feeling good. I was lying in bed. I had a feeling what was wrong with me. Nick came in and sat down.

"How are you feeling?" Nick said.

"I think I’m pregnant, this is exactly how I felt before," I said. Nick smiled.

"Then we should find out," Nick said kissing my hand.

"Help me up," I said. He helped me up and helped me get dressed and we went to the doctor’s office. I got examined by a doctor and waited. Nick and I talked. An hour later, the doctor came back in.

"Bri, I have your test results, you are pregnant," Dr. Kelly said.

"I am," I said smiling.

"Yes, congratulations," Dr. Kelly said. I smiled and Nick hugged me. We went home and sat down. Nick called everyone. They all came over.

"Bri, I got some great news," Amy said.

"So do I," I said. Everyone sat down. Nick and I got up and faced everyone.

"So, what’s the news, you two," AJ said.

"Bri and I are going to have a baby," Nick said.

"Bri, you’re pregnant," Amy said.

"Yeah," I said. She hugged me.

"Brian and I have some news, too, we are going to have a baby," Amy said. I hugged her. Everyone hugged us.

"Congrats, you two," I said.

"Same to you, we can go through this together," Amy said.

"Yeah," I said. We sat down and talked.

Chapter 14

Five months later, Amy and I were five months along. Nick and I got married two months before. Nick and Brian had their hands full with me and Amy. Amy and I were sitting in the living room. Amy, Brian, Nick, and I have a house together. Nick, Brian, and the guys were on tour. They left a month ago and were going to be gone for three months.

"I miss Brian," Amy said.

"I miss Nick," I said. The phone rang. I reached over and grabbed it.

“Hello," I said.

"Hey baby girl, how you doing," Nick said.

"I’m doing okay, I went to the doctor yesterday," I said.

"How’s the baby doing?" Nick asked.

"Growing, doing great, Nick, are you sitting down?" I asked.

"Yeah, why," Nick said.

"Dr. Kelly did a sonogram, she found out what we are going to have," I said.

"What are we having, a boy or a girl," Nick said.

 "A girl," I said.

"A girl, wow," Nick said.

"And a boy," I said smiling.

"What," Nick said. Then I heard a loud thump.

"Bri, is that you?" Brian asked.

"Yeah, what happened?" I asked.

"He fainted, Kev," Brian said.

"How are you, Brian," I said.

"Fine, why did he faint?" Brian asked.

"He found out that I’m having twins," I said.

"Twins, you’re having twins," Brian said.

"Yeah, a boy and a girl," I said.

"Congratulations," Brian said.

"Thanks, B," I said.

"Where’s my girl at?" Brian asked.

"I thought I was your girl," I said.

"You are, I meant my wife," Brian said.

"Just a sec, here," I said handing the phone to Amy.

"Hey honey, yeah, everything’s fine, nope, just one little one, I’m sure, a boy, Brian, honey, hey Kev, he fainted, is Nick okay, here," Amy said handing the phone back to me.

"Hello," I said.

"Hey," Nick said.

"You okay, babe," I said.

"I’m fine, I can’t believe it," Nick said.

"Me, either, I thought I was going to have a heart attack, do you think we can do it?" I asked.

"We can do anything, baby girl," Nick said.

"I miss you," I said.

"I miss you, too, do you have a picture?" Nick asked.

"Yes, I got four copies, I mailed one to my parents, to your parents, I have one on the fridge and one for your wallet, you can see it when you get back, of course, I’ll have pictures every doctor visit," I said.

"I want to see it now," Nick said.

"Do you have your laptop," I said.

"Yeah," Nick said.

"I’ll scan it and email it to you," I said.

"Okay," Nick said.

"I better let you go," I said.

"Bye, baby girl, I love you," Nick said.

"I love you, too, bye," I said. I hung up and looked at Amy and smiled. I went upstairs with a picture and scanned it on the computer. I looked and smiled and saved it. Then I logged on and emailed the picture to Nick. I turned the computer off and rubbed my growing stomach.

Chapter 15

Two months later, Amy and I were sitting in the kitchen. The doorbell rang. I went and opened the door and saw Jane, Bob, Leslie, Angel, Aaron, and BJ standing there.

"Hi," I said. They came in and hugged me.

"I can’t believe you’re having twins, this is so great," Jane said hugging me.

"Yeah, I told Nick over the phone and he fainted," I said.

"That big lug," BJ said.

"That big lug is my husband, I guess it was too much for him," I said. The doorbell rang again. I opened the door and saw Jackie, Harold SR, and Harold JR standing there.

"Hi Bri," Jackie said hugging me.

"Hi Jackie, come on in, you guys," I said. They came in.

"Bri, you’re getting big," Harold JR said hugging me.

"I’m having a baby, Harold," I said.

"Not just a baby, she and Nick are having twins," Jane said. Jackie hugged me.

"That’s great, congratulations!" Jackie said.

"Thanks, Jackie," I said.

"Congrats," Harold JR said.

"Thanks Harry," I said. Everyone sat down. The doorbell rang. I opened the door and saw my parents.

"Hi Mom, Dad," I said.

"Hi honey," Mom said hugging me. She rubbed my stomach. They came in and saw everyone and sat down. Everyone started talking. I went into the kitchen. We heard the front door open and excited voices. Amy and I smiled. We got stuff out to cook. Amy was going through the fridge. I was at the cutting board, cutting up some vegetables.

"Okay, what’s going on in here!" Brian said.

"Dinner," Amy said.

"Oh no, Mom, Jane," Brian said. Jane and Jackie came into the kitchen.

"What, Brian," Jane said.

"Could you two fix dinner, please, Bri and Amy need to sit down," Brian said.

"Brian, we’re fine, we can handle it, we fix dinner for ourselves the last three months, we can handle it," I said before continuing.

"They can do it, guys, I was cooking dinner when I was pregnant with you, Brian," Jackie said.

"And I was cooking dinner when I was pregnant with the twins," Jane said.

"But we want them to sit down and relax," Nick said.

"Nick, Brian, they are fine, if it will make you feel better, we will help, okay," Jane said.

"Yeah," Jackie said.

"Okay, fine, thanks," Brian said. They left the room. Jane and Jackie helped us fix dinner. After dinner was ready, we all sat down and ate. Jane and Jackie cleaned up. I was talking with my mother when I noticed Nick was gone. I got up and went to look for him. I found him in our bedroom sitting by the window.

"Nick, you okay?" I asked. He got up and came over and hugged me gently.

"I love you so much, I missed you so much," Nick said.

"I missed you, too, and I love you, too," I said.

We sat there holding each other.

"Are you sure you’re okay," I said looking up at him.

"I’m fine, just worried, about you cooking while pregnant," Nick said.

"Nick, I’m fine, I’m pregnant, not disabled," I said. Nick put his hand on my stomach.

"I can’t believe we’re having twins," Nick said.

"We can do it, together," I said. He kissed my forehead.

"You got that right, baby girl," Nick said.

"Bri," Amy said.

"Yeah," I said.

"Your parents are leaving," Amy said. I got up and went downstairs and saw them getting ready to go.

"We’ll be back for the birth," Mom said.

"Okay," I said. They left.

Everyone soon left. Brian and Amy went to bed. Nick and I went to our room. I changed into my nightgown. I laid down. Nick stripped down to his boxers and got into bed and held me and we went to sleep.

Chapter 16

The next day, Amy and I went to the mall. We were looking at baby clothes. I held up something. She smiled. I got some clothes. Amy got some clothes and we went out. We heard someone screaming.

"Allright, everyone, don’t move!" a guy yelled. We turned and saw a guy with a gun. The mall security came and held their guns at him.

"Drop the guns or I’ll shoot them!" the guy said pointing the gun at me and Amy. The guards dropped their guns.  An hour later, the mall was shut down and all the customers and guards and employees were in one

store. Amy and I were on the floor. The guy was watching everyone. He looked at me and Amy. He came over to us.

"Are you two fat?" he asked.

"We’re pregnant, both of us are seven months along," Amy said.

"I won’t hurt you two, okay," the guy said.

"Okay," Amy said. He went back to where he was. Amy and I wrapped an arm around each other and sat there.

Meanwhile at the house…….

"What do you mean the Orlando Mall is closed down, everyone inside was taken hostage, Bri and Amy are there!" Nick said.

"I know, the news said that the guy is crazy," Kevin said.

"He better not hurt them or I’ll make him pay," Brian said. Nick nodded. They all went down to the mall and saw all the cop cars and all the swat teams.

"Guys," Officer Smith said. Nick lifted his hat a little.

"Hey guys, why are you guys here?" Officer Smith said.

"Bri and Amy are in there," Brian said.

"Okay, we’ll make sure they get out safe," Officer Smith said.

"They are seven months pregnant," Nick said.

"Oh man, we better move fast," Officer Smith said.

Back inside……

I felt pain in my stomach. I put my hand on my stomach.

"Bri," Amy said.

"Something’s wrong," I said. The guy came over.

"What’s wrong?" he asked.

"She’s in pain, something’s wrong, she needs to go to the hospital," Amy said. 

"You two can go," he said. Amy got up and helped me up and Amy got our bags and helped me out. We walked out the door and saw cops everywhere.

"Look!" someone said.

"Bri!" I heard Nick say. I saw him running to me.

"Nick, she needs to go to the hospital, she’s in pain," Amy said as Brian came up to us with Kevin, Howie, and AJ behind him.

"Let’s go," Nick said. We all went to the hospital. I was lying on a bed in a room with Nick beside me. Dr. Kelly was checking me.

"What’s wrong, Dr. Kelly?" I asked.

"You were stressed out and that caused you to go into early labor," Dr. Kelly said.

"What, is there anything you can do?" Nick asked.

"Well, the labor has stopped, but I can’t promise you that it won’t happen again, Bri, you need to stay calm and rest, okay," Dr. Kelly said.

"Like the reason I got stressed out was my fault, Amy and I were at the mall and a guy decides to hold up the mall, I’m lucky I had this pain to get out before I was hurt," I said.

"Bri, calm down, all I’m saying is for you to stay calm, okay," Dr. Kelly said.

"Fine," I said. We went out and everyone stood up.

"Everything okay?" Brian asked.

"Yeah, it was early labor but it stopped, she needs to stay calm and rest," Nick said. We all went home. I went up and went to bed. Nick came in and sat down on the bed.

"Sleep, baby girl," Nick said stroking my cheek.

"I’ll try," I said. He kissed my lips softly. I pulled him close and the kiss deepened.

"I love you," Nick said.

"I love you, too," I said. He got up and went out of the room. I went to sleep.

Chapter 17

Two hours later, I woke up and sat up. Nick wasn’t in the room.

"Nick!" I called. I heard footsteps. Brian came in.

"Bri, what’s wrong?" Brian asked.

"Where’s Nick?" I asked.

"He left, he asked me to take care of you until he got back," Brian said.

"Did he say where he was going?" I asked.

"No," Brian said.

"Brian," I said.

"He didn’t tell me, okay," Brian said.

"I need a glass of water," I said.

"I’ll be right back," Brian said. He left the room. I grabbed the phone and dialed Nick’s cell phone number.

"Hello," Nick said.

"Nick, where are you?" I asked.

"I’m at my folks," Nick said.

"Nick, do you want something to eat?" I heard Jane say.

"Come on, Nick, stay for dinner!" I heard Aaron say.

"Just a sec, Aaron, you okay, Bri?" Nick asked.

"Is that Bri?" Aaron asked.

"Yeah," Nick said.

"I want to talk to her," Aaron said.

"Okay," Nick said.

"Bri, how are you?" Aaron asked.

"I’m fine, Airboy, how are you," I said.

"I’m great, Nick made a surprise visit and told us what happened today, I’m glad you’re okay," Aaron said.

"Thanks, Airboy, how’s your career going?" I asked.

"Great, I’m on break right now, but in two weeks later, I’ll be in the studio recording my first US album!" Aaron said.

"Cool! I’ll make sure I’m the first one to buy it, I’ll buy ten copies, how about that," I said as Brian came in with my water. He saw that I was on the phone.

"Cool, thanks, Bri, I’m glad to have you for a sister-in-law, you are the best!" Aaron said.

"Well, I’m glad to have you as a brother-in-law!" I said.

"Here’s Nick, bye, Bri!" Aaron said.

"Bye, Aaron," I said.

"Hey girl, I’ll be home later, okay," Nick said.

"Okay, I was worried about you, I woke up wondering where you were," I said.

"I’m sorry, I should’ve told Brian where I was going, I didn’t mean to make you worry, baby girl, I’m sorry," Nick said.

"I’m okay, now, I’ll see you when you get home, okay," I said.

"Okay, I love you," Nick said.

"I love you, too, bye," I said. I hung up.

"Where’s Nick at?" Brian asked.

"His parents house," I said. I took a drink of water. I put the glass down.

"What’s Aaron up to?" Brian asked sitting down.

"He’ll be recording his first US album in two weeks," I said.

"That’s cool, he’s really good," Brian said.

"He’s like Nick in so many ways, they are a lot alike," I said. Brian smiled.

"Yeah, they are," Brian said.

"Where’s Amy?" I asked.

"Asleep," Brian said.

"Okay, can you help me leaned against the backboard with pillows," I said. He helped me and I was sitting halfway up and propped against the

pillows. He got the remote for me. I turned on the TV. I saw Ace Ventura Pet Detective on. Brian saw it and got up on the bed next to me and we watched the movie. The doorbell rang. Brian got up and went downstairs. I sat there watching the movie when I heard voices coming up the stairs.

"Get out, now," I heard Brian say.

"I need to speak to Bri," I heard Mandy say. They came into the bedroom.

"What do you want, Mandy," I said.

"I have to tell you this," Mandy said.

"Just get out, Mandy, please," Brian said.

"Bri, Nick and I have been sleeping together," Mandy said. I felt my heart drop.

"Telling lies again, Mandy," Nick said from the doorway.

"It’s the truth and you know it," Mandy said.

"Yeah, right, like I would sleep with you, like I would sleep around on Bri when she’s the only girl I’d want to sleep with, stop telling lies and get the hell out!" Nick yelled.

"You stop lying, Nick!" Mandy said.

"I’m not lying, you aren’t getting me back, I’m married to Bri, we are having twins, I would never sleep with you, never, even if my life depended on it, I would never sleep with you, or sleep around behind her back, I love her, okay, get the hell out before I throw you out!" Nick yelled. Mandy ran out. 

"Nick," Brian said.

"What a bitch, she’s crazy," Nick said.

"Is it true?" Brian asked.

"No, of course not, I would never do that, Bri, baby, you know I love you, I would never do anything to hurt you, she’s lying, I swear to you, I didn’t cheat on you," Nick said.

"Come here," I said holding out my arms. He sat down and hugged me. I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I love you so much, I can’t live without you in my life, you are the only one for me, and that will never change," Nick said.

 "I love you, too, honey," I said. Brian left the room and closed the door behind him. Nick got up and locked the door. I turned on the stereo. Nick got onto the bed and laid there holding me close. I smiled up at him.

"What are you up to," Nick said smiling at me.

"I want to give you some pleasure," I said.

"Pleasure away, baby girl," Nick said. I smiled and pulled off his shirt and unbuckled his belt from his jeans and undid his jeans and pushed them down. He shook them off. I pulled off his boxers. He laid there naked. I kissed his chest. I trailed kisses down to his stomach and I licked the tip of his erection. I took him into my mouth. He moaned in pleasure. I sucked, caressed, and bit his length.

"Oh baby, I’m coming," Nick moaned. He came into my mouth and I swallowed every drop. I removed my mouth and laid back beside him.

"I love you," I said.

"I love you, too," Nick said. We laid there holding each other. He kissed my forehead. We heard the doorbell ring. We heard running footsteps. We heard loud voices. Nick got up and got dressed. He went downstairs and saw Officer Smith and Officer Grant.

"Mr. Carter, where is your wife?" Officer Grant asked.

"What’s all this about?" Nick asked.

"We need to speak to your wife?" Officer Grant said.

"You’re not going to until you tell me what it’s about," Nick said blocking the stairs.

"We got a call from some girl who said your wife attacked her today," Officer Smith said.

"Was her name Mandy Whilford?" Nick asked.

"Yes," Officer Grant said.

"She’s nothing but a liar, my wife is in bed where the doctor told her to stay, my wife is seven months pregnant with twins, she has to stay calm and rest, Mandy is lying, she’ll do anything to get my wife away from me," Nick said.

"I was with Bri when Mandy was here, Mandy was the one doing the attacking, not physically, but emotionally," Brian said. Brian and Nick told the officers the whole story.

"Bri’s in not condition to be attacking anyone," Nick said. The cops nodded.

"We are sorry about this, good day," Officer Smith said. They left.

"That bitch!" Nick said.

"Nick, you should’ve told them that you would like to press charges against her because of what she did, have her arrested for abuse," Brian said. Nick ran out.

"Wait," Nick said. The cops stopped.

"Yes, Mr. Carter," Officer Smith said.

"I would like to press charges against Mandy," Nick said. Nick told them the story. 

"We will take her in, thank you, Mr. Carter," Officer Grant said. They left. Nick went back inside and went upstairs. Bri was sitting there reading a magazine.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Officer Smith and Officer Grant were here, they wanted to talk to you, I wouldn’t let them upstairs,  they told me that Mandy called and said that you attacked her, Brian and I told them the story, I also told them about what happened in the relationship, they are picking her up," Nick said.

"Good, I didn’t do nothing to her, and I can’t go in my condition," I said.

"I told them that," Nick said. He closed the door and locked it. He laid me down on the bed.

"Nick," I said. He turned the stereo on.

"You are now getting pleasured by me," Nick said. He pulled my clothes off. I smiled up at him. He pulled his clothes off. He rubbed my growing

stomach. He kissed my lips softly. He then kissed my neck and devoured it. I moaned in pleasure. He trailed kisses down to my breasts and sucked on one of my nipples. I smiled and enjoyed the pleasure he was giving me. He kissed my stomach.

"Hey little ones, it’s Daddy, I can’t wait until you two are here, I will take extra special care of you, I love you two very much," Nick said kissing my stomach again. I smiled. He moved back up and pressing his lips to mine. 

"I love you," I said.

"I love you, too," Nick said.

Chapter 18

Two months later, Amy and I were nine months along. Brian and Nick were watching us like we were time bombs. It was two days past our due dates. Amy and I were sitting in the living room.

"I can’t wait until this is over," Amy said.

"Tell me about it, look at me, I’m a whale!" I said putting my hands on my huge stomach.

"Bri, you’re not a whale, you have two babies in there," Amy said.

"I know, a boy and a girl, I already picked out the names, Jason Robert Carter and Emily Jane Carter," I said.

"Does Nick know?" Amy asked.

"Nope," I said.

"I decided to name my baby, Brian Harold Littrell," Amy said. I smiled.

"Does Brian know?" I asked.

"Nope," Amy said. Brian, Nick, and AJ came in.

"Hey you two," AJ said.

"Hey Bone, what’s up?" Amy said.

"Just hanging, can I steal these two guys?" AJ asked.

"As long as they take their cell phones," Amy said.

Brian and Nick kissed us and left with AJ. Amy and I sat there. Amy gasped. 

"My water broke," Amy said holding her stomach. I grabbed the phone.

"Hello," Brian said.

"Brian, get back here now," I said.

"I’m on my way," Brian said. I hung up.

"Brian’s coming, Amy," I said. Five minutes later, Brian, Nick, and AJ came flying in.

"Amy," Brian said.

"It’s coming, Brian, it’s coming now, I can feel the head," Amy said holding her stomach. AJ called 911.

"Oh man, Brian, there’s no time to get to the hospital, the baby must be delivered now," AJ said. He put the phone on speaker.

"Hello," the 911 operator said.

"What do we do!" Brian said.

"Get her on the floor and spread her legs apart and get some blankets," she said. Brian and Nick laid Amy on the floor. AJ got some blankets. Nick got behind Amy. Brian pulled Amy’s pants off. AJ sat down next to me.

"Bri, you okay?" AJ asked. Nick looked up.

"I’m fine, AJ, nothing happened to me yet, I’m fine," I said. We watched. The operator gave instructions. Amy screamed in pain. The operator told her to push.

"Push, Amy," Brian said. Amy pushed.

"I can see the head!" Brian said. Amy kept pushing.

"You can do it, Amy," I said.

"He’s coming, come on, baby, you can do it," Brian said. Amy pushed. We heard a wail. Brian cut the cord.

"He’s here," Brian said wrapping him up in a blanket. Amy leaned back against Nick. Brian laid the baby in Amy’s arms. Brian took over for Nick. Nick got up and sat down next to me. Brian kissed Amy’s forehead. I smiled and rested my head on Nick’s shoulder. There was a knock at the door. AJ opened it and saw paramedics. They came in and got Amy ready. They left. Nick helped me up and helped me into the Durango and we went to the hospital. We sat in the waiting room. Kevin, Kristen, Amanda, and Howie came in. They sat down. My parents came in.

"Bri," Mom said.

"Hi, Mom," I said. She hugged me.

"Nothing yet," Mom said rubbing my stomach.

"Not yet, Amy had her baby, at the house," I said.

"It was a boy, right," Mom said.

"Yeah," I said. Brian came out.

"Hey, Amy’s in a room, everything’s fine, the baby’s fine," Brian said.

"Congrats, Frick," Nick said.

"Thanks, Frack," Brian said. They hugged. Everyone hugged Brian except me. Brian came over and hugged me.

"Congratulations, Brian," I said.

"Thanks, Bri," Brian said. He sat down and we talked. Nick was talking with AJ. I felt uncomfortable.

"Bri, hey, you okay?" Brian asked.

"I feel uncomfortable," I said. Nick knelt down in front of me. I felt pain.

"Sweetie," Nick said.

"Get Dr. Kelly," I said. AJ ran to get her. He came back with Dr. Kelly behind him.

"Bri, tell me what’s wrong?" Dr. Kelly asked.

"I felt uncomfortable, then I felt pain," I said.

"Let’s get you to a room," Dr. Kelly said. Nick helped me up and we went to a room. Ten minutes later, she checked me over.

"Bri, you’re in labor, it’s the early stages so it will be awhile," Dr. Kelly said. I groaned.

Chapter 19

Two days later, Nick and I were holding the babies. Nick was holding one while I held the other.

"Hey little guy," Nick said.

"What about names?" I asked.

"What have you picked out?" Nick asked.

"Jason Robert Carter for him and Emily Jane Carter for her," I said looking down at her.

"Perfect," Nick said. I smiled and we watched the babies.

Three days later, Nick brought us home. I carried both of the babies while Nick got the bags. We went into the house. Brian came in from the kitchen.

"Hey you two, there’s my nephew and niece, can I hold him?" Brian said.

"Yeah," I said. Brian took Jason into his arms.

"He looks like his father," Brian said.

"Yeah, he does," I said. I carried Emily upstairs. Brian followed with Jason. Brian laid Jason in his crib. I went over to Emily’s crib and gently laid her in the crib. I watched her. Brian came over.

"And she looks like you," Brian said.

"She’s beautiful, isn’t she," I said.

"Yeah, she is, she has you and Nick in her," Brian said. I hugged Brian.

"How’s Amy?" I asked.

"She’s resting," Brian said. I pulled away and went over to Brian JR’s crib.

"And how is Brian JR?" I asked.

"Doing fine, we survived the first night," Brian said.

"How does it feel to be a father?" I asked.

"Feels great," Brian said.

"It’s only been three days since the twins were born and I love them so much, Brian, I love being a mother already," I said. Brian hugged me.

"It’s a wonderful feeling, now where’s that husband of yours?" Brian asked.

"He should be bringing the bags in," I said. Nick came in with the baby bags.

"Hey, what are you doing, go rest," Nick said wrapping his arms around me.

"I was just heading that way, honey, Brian and I were just talking about the babies," I said kissing his cheek. I went to our bedroom and laid down.

Chapter 20

Two months later, Nick and I were enjoying being  parents to Emily and Jason. I was feeding Emily while Nick was trying to change Jason.

"There we go, a clean diaper, hey little man," Nick said.  I smiled. I looked down at Emily. She was watching me. I kissed her forehead. Her eyes were falling down. Soon, she was asleep. I got up and gently laid her in the crib. I put her bottle beside her and watched her sleep. Nick came over and wrapped his arms around me.

"I love you, baby," Nick said kissing my neck.

"I love you, too," I said. I turned in his arms and we kissed deeply.

"Will you be okay by yourself?" Nick asked.

"I’ll be fine, I know you have to take Aaron to the studio, Brian and Amy took Brian JR to the doctor for a checkup, the twins will be going tomorrow, don’t forget," I said.

"I won’t, can you handle them?" Nick asked.

"I’ll be fine, if I have any problems, I’ll call Kristen, or Amanda, or I’ll call your cell phone, now go, Aaron’s probably waiting," I said. He kissed my lips again. He kissed the twins and left. I sat down. I went downstairs and got something to eat. The doorbell rang. I opened the door and saw a guy standing there. He grabbed me and threw me into a car and drove off.

Two hours later, Brian and Amy arrived home and put Brian JR in his crib.

"Amy, Jason and Emily are here, where’s Bri?" Brian asked. They searched the house and found it empty.

"I’m calling Nick, something strange is going on," Brian said. He dialed Nick’s cell phone.

"Hello," Nick said.

"Nick, you better come home, now, something’s going on," Brian said.

"I’m on my way," Nick said. Ten minutes later, Nick came in.

"What’s going on, where’s Bri?" Nick asked.

"We don’t know, we came home and the house was empty, Jason and Emily in their cribs asleep," Brian said.

"Something’s going on, because Bri wouldn’t leave them alone, she’s not like that," Nick said.

"Call the police," Brian said.

Fifteen minutes later, Officer Smith and Officer Grant came in and Nick, Brian, and Amy told them the story.

"Bri would never leave the twins alone," Nick said.

The phone rang. Officer Smith hooked up their equipment. Nick picked it up.

“Hello," Nick said.

"Nick, it’s Mandy, how are you," Mandy said.

"What do you want," Nick said.

"Well, I have been following your wife around, she’s been walking around the town, she went into some shops," Mandy said. Nick could hear muffled screaming in the background.

"Oh really, where is she now, do you know?" Nick asked.

"She’s in the Orlando Mall, shopping," Mandy said.

"Oh really, with what money, her purse and keys are here, along with all her credit cards and wallet, she doesn’t have my credit cards with her, so how is she shopping?" Nick asked.

"I don’t know, but I don’t think she’s a very good mother, I mean, leaving the twins home alone," Mandy said.

"And how would you know that, Mandy," Nick said.

"I saw you with Aaron at the studio, I saw Brian and Amy at the doctor’s office, I knew she was alone with them," Mandy said.

"Have you been spying on me?" Nick asked.

"No, I had to run some errands today and I saw all three of you out," Mandy said. Officer Smith nodded and Officer Grant left the room.

"Look, Mandy, if you see her, tell her to come home, now," Nick said.

"I will, Nick, I’m sorry about this, I had to tell you what was going on, bye," Mandy said. Nick hung up.

"She was calling from her house," Officer Smith said.

"I swear I heard muffled screaming in the background, she must have had someone grab Bri and take her to Mandy’s house, Mandy’s trying to

get me to think that Bri’s an unfit mother, that bitch," Nick said.

"Bri’s a great mother, the twins are so lucky to have a mother like Bri," Amy said.

"Can you two watch the twins?" Nick asked.

"Sure," Brian said. Nick ran out and went to Mandy’s house. He knocked on the door. Mandy opened the door and smiled.

"Hi, Nick, I just got home, come on in," Mandy said.

Nick went in and looked around.

"Where’s Bri?" Nick asked.

“I lost track of her," Mandy said. Nick looked around and heard a noise from the closet. Nick opened the closet and Bri and a guy fell out. Bri’s hands were tied and there was tape on her mouth. Nick looked at Mandy.

"Lost track of her, huh, seems you knew where she was," Nick said.

"Nick, I can explain," Mandy said.

"What are you trying to do here, Mandy, get me back, I’m never coming back to you, never, I have a wife and two kids, I love Bri, I love my kids, I’m never leaving them, never, you were trying to get me to think that Bri’s not a good mother, well, let me tell you this, Bri’s the best mother ever, she loves our kids, she would walk through fire for them, I couldn’t ask for a better mother for my children than her, the twins are lucky to have her for a mother, your little plan didn’t work because I knew better," Nick said. Officer Smith and Officer Grant came in and arrested Mandy and the guy. Nick undid Bri’s hands and gently pulled the tape from Bri’s mouth.

"You okay," Nick said.

"I am now," I said hugging him.

"I know you wouldn’t leave the kids alone, I knew something was going on," Nick said.

"I want to go home," I said. He picked me up and carried me out to his Durango and we went home. I ran in and ran upstairs to the nursery. Brian and Amy were in there. Brian was holding Jason while Amy was holding Brian JR.

"My babies," I said running over to Emily’s crib. I picked her up and held her close.

"They’re fine, Bri, are you okay?" Brian asked.

"I am now, Mandy had a guy grab me and take me to her house, she wanted Nick to think that I was a unfit mother by leaving the twins alone with no one here," I said.

“We figured that, we know that you would never leave the twins alone, we know you are an awesome mother, Jason and Emily are lucky to have a mother like you," Amy said.

"And a father like Nick," Brian said as Nick came in.

"They are definitely lucky," Nick said as Brian let him have Jason. Brian and Amy left the room with Brian JR. I sat down with Emily.

"Honey, what’s wrong?" Nick said.

"I just don’t know what I would do if something happened to them," I said with tears in my eyes. Nick laid Jason in his crib and came over. He took Emily and laid her in her crib and pulled me up.

"Sweetheart, it’s not your fault, I know you wouldn’t leave them alone, I know you are a great mother, I love you and our children, and I will love you three until the day I die," Nick said hugging me. I rested my head on his shoulder.

"I don’t know what I would do if I lost you," I said.

"You will never lose me, never, I love you more than anything, I’ll always be here for you," Nick said.

"You promise?" I said.

"I promise you I will always be here for you," Nick said. We kissed deeply. He picked me up and carried me into our bedroom and closed the door and locked it and turned the stereo on and he laid down on the bed and pulled me on top of him and pulled each other’s clothes off and made love. We laid there holding each other afterwards.

"Oh Bri, I love you," Nick said kissing my forehead.

"I love you, too," I said resting my head on his chest. We fell asleep holding each other. I woke up and heard the twins crying. I got up and got

dressed. Nick sat up. He got up and got dressed. We went to the twins room and I picked Emily up while Nick got Jason. We walked them around. They went back to sleep. Nick and I went back to our room and

went to sleep holding each other. I woke up and heard the babies crying again. I looked at the time and saw that it was two in the morning. I got up and went to their bedroom. I picked up Emily and walked her around. She quieted down and went back to sleep. I laid her back in her crib and picked Jason up and carried him around. Brian JR started crying. Jason quieted down and went back to sleep. I laid him down and picked up Brian JR and carried him around. Amy came in.

"Hey, let me take him, go back to bed, you need rest, okay, girl," Amy said. I let her take him and went back to bed. Nick rolled over and pulled me close.

"Kids okay," Nick said opening his eyes.

"Yeah," I said sleepily. He kissed my lips softly. We went back to sleep.

Chapter 21

Three months later, Brian JR and the twins were five months old. The guys were going on tour. I was helping Nick pack.

"I wish you and the twins could come," Nick said.

"Me, too, but you heard Donna," I said.

"Yeah, no kids on the tour!" Nick said mimicking her.

"Nick, she’s just trying to do her job, anyway, the twins aren’t old enough to be traveling that long, we’ll be fine," I said. Nick hugged me.

"I love you so much," Nick said.

"I love you, too," I said. We kissed. We laid down on the bed and kissed. Nick got up and closed the door and locked it and came back over and laid on top of me and we pulled each other’s clothes off and made love. We went to sleep holding each other. Three months later, Nick and the guys finished the tour and came home. I was talking with Amy when Nick came in.

"Hey, Amy, can you and Brian handle the twins for a couple of days?" Nick asked.

"Sure," Amy said.

"What’s going on?" I asked.

"I got a little surprise for you," Nick said. He pulled me up and took me out to the Durango and we went to the airport. The plane landed.

"We’re in Missouri, what’s going on?" I asked.

"It’s a surprise," Nick said.

We rented a car and Nick drove up to Lathrop. He pulled into my parents’ driveway. He put the car in park and got out. I got out. He grabbed my hand and we walked into the field. He put me in front and stood behind me.

"Nick, what is it?" I asked.

"Wouldn’t this be a great place for a house?" Nick asked.

"What," I said.

"I bought this land from your parents and I planned to have a house built for us, that way you can be closer to your parents, I want your dream house built, what do you think," Nick said.

"Are you serious?" I asked.

"Yeah, I am, what do you think?" Nick asked.

"Oh Nick, I love it, my parents are right next door, it’s perfect," I said. He kissed my neck. We heard a car honk. I saw my parents parked behind the rental car. We walked back. Mom got out and hugged me.

"Hi sweetie, do you like your surprise?" Mom asked.

"You were in on it," I said.

"Well, yeah, Nick came and talked to us, he bought the land, you guys will be living right next door and I can see the twins all the time," Mom said. 

"Nick, sell the land, we’re staying in Florida," I said.

"Why?" Nick asked.

"Do you want the twins to be spoiled little brats?" I asked.

"Bri," Mom said.

"Mom, I saw what you did to Karly, TJ, and KC, and they are little pains, I don’t want the twins to be that way, I want to go home," I said. I got into the rental car. Mom handed Nick his check back. Nick got into the rental car. 

"Why are you being this way, I thought you wanted to be near your parents," Nick said.

"Just go, please," I said. He drove back to the airport and got on the plane back to Florida. We went home.

Chapter 22

I walked into the house with Nick behind me.

"Tell me what’s going on?" Nick asked.

"I don’t want to talk about it," I said. Amy and Brian came into the hallway.

"What’s going on?" Brian asked.

"Nothing, are the twins okay?" I asked.

"They’re fine, what’s going on?" Brian asked.

"Nick bought some land up in Missouri, from my parents and wants to build a house up there," I said.

"Yeah, so," Amy said.

"My parents show up and go on and on about seeing the twins all the time, I said forget it and got into the car," I said.

"I don’t see what the big deal is," Nick said.

"Because my parents will spoil the twins and they will be little brats like my niece and nephews are, they are big pains and I don’t want the twins to be like that, plus I love it down here, I like being near the ocean, I lived up there for twenty-one years, it’s time for a change, I don’t want to live up there again, okay," I said. I went upstairs. I went into the nursery and over to the cribs and looked at the twins. Emily was awake and kicking. I smiled and stroked her forehead. I picked her up and hugged her.

"Hey sweetie, how’s my little girl, huh, you’re okay, you are a happy girl, aren’t you," I said. I kissed her forehead. I picked up Jason and he giggled.

"You two are happy babies, I want you two to know that I love you two more than anything, and I will not let anything happen to either of you, I would die for you two, I want you to know that," I said kissing their foreheads. Nick came in and saw me holding them.

"Bri, we have to talk about this," Nick said.

"Nick, there’s nothing more to say, I want to stay here, near the ocean, okay, the guys are here, Amy, Kristen, Amanda, they’re here, I want to stay here," I said. I put Emily and Jason back in their cribs and walked out. He followed me.

"Bri, wait," Nick said.

"Forget it, Nick, I want to stay in Florida, okay," I said.

"I thought maybe we could move up there so the twins can grow up in a small town, away from a big city," Nick said.

"You thought wrong!" I said. I walked out the door. I walked down the beach and sat down on the sand. I saw a shadow and looked up and saw Brian standing there. He sat down next to me.

"Hey, what’s wrong?" Brian asked.

"He wants to move up there near my parents, I want to move away from my parents, I want to be someplace different, like here," I said.

"Bri, maybe it’s better for the twins, this is a big city, maybe they should grow up in a small town," Brian said.

"Brian, I grew up in a small town, you know, I wanted to live in a big city, okay," I said getting up. I walked down the beach. Brian caught up with me.

"You need to talk to Nick about this," Brian said.

"Brian, I did, it seems that he didn’t want to listen," I said. I saw Nick heading down the beach towards us.

"Bri, he would do anything for you," Brian said.

"Then tell him that I want to stay," I said. I walked off.  Brian stood there. Nick walked up to him.

"How did it go?" Nick asked.

"She wants to stay, Nick, if you would do anything for her, do what she wants, stay in Florida because that’s what she wants," Brian said. He headed back to the house. Nick looked down the beach and saw Bri climbing the rocks and sitting down. He walked down the beach to the rocks. He climbed up and sat down beside her.

"I’m sorry," Nick said.

"I don’t want to leave here, I don’t want to move, I love it here, Nick, watching the ocean, I know you love the water, do you honestly want to move away from it, Waterboy," I said. Nick wrapped an arm around me.

"I wanted to move because I thought you wanted to be closer to your parents," Nick said.

"I don’t want to move," I said.

"Then we won’t move, we’ll stay here by the ocean," Nick said. I smiled and kissed his lips softly. I pulled back and we looked at the ocean.

"Nick, there’s something I have to tell you," I said.

"What is it?" Nick said.

"I think I’m pregnant again," I said.

"How far do you think you are?" Nick asked.

"Maybe three months," I said.

"Then we should find out," Nick said getting up. We went to the doctor and Dr. Kelly examined me.

"Well, Bri, you are three months pregnant," Dr. Kelly said. I smiled.

"I was right, thanks, Dr. Kelly," I said. Nick helped me up and we went home.

Chapter 23

We walked in and saw Brian and Amy fighting.

"I didn’t say I would go meet her!" Brian said.

"Yes, you did, don’t deny it, go meet her, I don’t care!" Amy yelled before running upstairs.

"Did we miss something?" Nick asked.

"Leighanne called and wanted me to meet her tonight at the North Pier," Brian said.

"Are you going to?" I asked.

"No, I’m not, I don’t want nothing to do with Leighanne anymore," Brian said. I went upstairs to Brian and Amy’s room. I saw her packing.

"Amy, what are you doing!" I said.

"I’m leaving," Amy said.

"Brian!" I called. Brian ran in.

"What are you doing!" Brian said.

"I’m leaving," Amy said.

"Amy, don’t leave, I’m not going to see her, I don’t want anything to do with Leighanne anymore, you and Brian are my life, I would die without you," Brian said. Amy ran to him and hugged him. I left the room and went back downstairs. Nick was sitting at the table. I sat down. He leaned over and kissed my lips softly. Brian and Amy came into the kitchen.

"Everything okay?" Nick asked.

"Yeah, so, what’s going on?" Brian asked.

"I’m pregnant again," I said.

"What, how far along?" Amy asked.

"Three months," I said.

"Congratulations," Brian said hugging us.

"Thanks, Frick," Nick said.

Chapter 24

That night, we called everyone and told them the news. Everyone was happy for us. Nick was sitting on the couch. Brian and Amy were talking in the kitchen. I sat down beside Nick holding Emily.

"Look who wanted to see Daddy," I said. Nick smiled and took Emily into his arms.

"Hey sweetie, did you want to see me, huh, you are so beautiful, like your mother," Nick said. Emily smiled.

"In four months, this little one and her brother will be one year olds," I said.

"That’s right, and in six months, you and your brother will have a baby brother or sister," Nick said.

"Think we can handle it," I said.

"We can do anything," Nick said. He kissed my forehead.

Four months later, I was seven months along and loving it. It was Jason and Emily’s first birthday. Everyone was over at the house. My parents, brother, sister-in-law, niece, nephews, Jane, Bob, BJ, Leslie, Angel, Aaron, Kevin, Kristen, AJ, Amanda, Howie, and Pollyanna. Brian and Amy were sitting with Brian JR who turned one two days ago. We decided to have one huge birthday party. The doorbell rang. I went and opened the door and saw Jackie, Harold, Harold JR, Ann, Jerald, and Tim

standing there.

"Hey everyone, come in and join the party," I said. Jackie hugged me.

"Can’t believe you are seven months along with another baby," Jackie said.

"I couldn’t either," I said.

"It’s just one, this time, right," Harold JR said.

"Yes, there’s only one, Harold," I said. They came in and followed me out.

"Brian, Kevin, family’s here," I said. Brian and Kevin hugged them and everyone sat down.

I sat down and looked at Nick as he played with Jason. I thought about everything we’ve been through. I knew he was going to be a great father.

He’s my first everything. My life is so perfect.
