Hayley sat there at her computer, looking at the pics she found in her emails. She saw her ex-boyfriend, Nick Carter, with another girl. It didn’t say she was his girlfriend but she still felt jealous and upset about seeing him with another girl. Nick and Hayley were the hottest couple on the music scene until he dumped her for Paris Hilton. Hayley was the hottest and most pop singer in the music industry. She hasn’t dated anyone since Nick. She just was too heartbroken to be with another guy. She kept in touch with Brian and his wife, Leighanne. Hayley and Leighanne had been best friends since they had met. They would get together to shop and hang out and have girl’s nights out. But that had changed when Leighanne had Baylee. Hayley was his godmother while Nick was his godfather. Hayley turned off her computer and laid down on her bed and stared at the ceiling. She felt so empty inside. The phone rang. She reached over and picked it up.

      “Hello,” Hayley said.

      “Hey girl, what’s up,” Leighanne said.

      “Not much, just was on the internet, nothing big,” Hayley said.

      “You saw the pictures,” Leighanne said.

      “Yeah,” Hayley said.

      “Girl, Nick is single again, this is your chance to get him back,” Leighanne said.

      “Leigh, he broke my heart, he dumped me for that bimbo, Paris Hilton, I can’t be with him again, not after what he did,” Hayley said.

      “Well, I wish you could come to the American Music Awards tomorrow night, but you will be in Las Vegas taping your show for HBO,” Leighanne said.

      “Yeah, but I will be performing a song for the awards, they will cut live to the show for me to perform Stronger,” Hayley said.

      “That’s right, I’ll see you onscreen tomorrow night, girl, gotta go, Baylee is up, love ya!” Leighanne said.

      “Bye,” Hayley said. She hung up and sat back.

Chapter 2

The next night, Nick, Brian, Leighanne, Kevin, Kristin, Howie, Pollyanna, and AJ arrived at the American Music Awards and took their seats. About an hour into the broadcast, Ricky Martin came onstage to announce the next performance.

      “Our next performer could not be here tonight, she is currently taping a concert for HBO but she really wanted to perform for all of us so here is Hayley Hardin live from Las Vegas singing her number one single, Stronger,” Ricky said. They watched Hayley perform on the screen. Brian looked at Nick after they went on with the show.

      “Frack, you okay,” Brian asked.

      “I’m fine, just fine,” Nick said. Brian knew that Nick was remembering what he did.

A year later, they were back at the next American Music Awards. Nick, Brian, Leighanne, AJ, Howie, Kevin, and Kristin took their seats. Leighanne and Kristin sat together and saw Hayley in her seat a row up on the other side. They waved to each other. Soon it was time for Hayley to perform. She went up and performed a new song. Nick watched her sing and he fell in love with her all over again. After she was done, she went backstage. Nick looked at Brian who looked at him.

      “Frack?” Brian asked.

      “I think I fell for her all over again,” Nick said.

      “Do what you can to win her back,” Brian said. Nick looked at him.

      “She hates me, I messed up, I dumped her for Paris, I made the biggest mistake of my life, I let go the only girl I could ever love,” Nick said quietly. Brian looked at him.

      “You have to win her back, take it slowly,” Brian said. Nick sighed.

That night at the after party, Nick saw Hayley talking with Leighanne and Kristin. He went over to them and Hayley looked at him as Leighanne and Kristin quietly went to find their husbands.

      “Hi,” Nick said.

      “Hi,” Hayley said.

      “I was wondering if we could talk,” Nick said.

      “Okay,” Hayley said. They went to someplace quiet to talk. They sat down facing each other.

      “How have you’ve been doing?” Nick asked.

      “I’m fine, busy with my career and everything,” Hayley said.

      “Yeah, your new album is awesome,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

      “You bought my album,” Hayley said.

      “Maybe about ten of them, I have ten of all your albums,” Nick said.

      “Seriously?” Hayley said.

      “Dead serious,” Nick said.

      “Why,” Hayley said.

      “Because you are an awesone singer, I love the songs, and I still care about you,” Nick said.

      “Nick, you really hurt me,” Hayley said.

      “I know I did, and I regret what I did, I know it because it was the biggest mistake I have ever made, it was stupid and I wish I could go back and change things, but I can’t, I know things can’t go back to the way they were, but I can work on being friends, I really want to be friends, Hayley, if we can’t be more, then I would like to be friends, a fresh start as friends,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

      “I’d like that, being friends, a fresh start, as friends, I’d like that very much,” Hayley said smiling at him. Nick held out his hand.

      “Nick Carter, friend,” Nick said. Hayley shook his hand.

      “Hayley Hardin, friend,” Hayley said. Nick smiled.

      “Let’s get back out there,” Nick said helping her up. They went out and walked over to the guys. They smiled and hugged Hayley.

      “So, what’s up, you two,” Brian said.

      “Well, we decided it’s a fresh start, as friends,” Nick said.

      “Yeah, what he said,” Hayley said.

      “Cool,” AJ said.

      “Well, I hope you will hang with us on the next tour, we requested you as our only opening act,” Kevin said. Hayley smiled.

      “That would be cool!” Hayley said.

They all continued talking about the upcoming tour.

Chapter 3

The guys and Hayley were on tour. Nick and Hayley have been getting along as friends. They were backstage at one of the concerts. Hayley was watching Nick talk with Brian. Leighanne came up to her.

      “Hey girl,” Leighanne said.

      “I can’t help it, Leigh, I still love him, why can’t I stop loving him,” Hayley said quietly.

      “Because he’s your soulmate,” Leighanne said. Hayley looked at her.

      “I know he only wants to be friends,” Hayley said. Leighanne smiled.

      “You want him back, don’t you,” Leighanne said. Hayley nodded slowly.

      “Yeah, I do,” Hayley said.

      “Go to him and tell him that, I know he wants you back, he only said he wants to be friends because he thinks that’s what you want, he would do anything for you, he would do anything to have you in his life, he’ll take what he can get,” Leighanne said. Hayley went over to Nick and he smiled at her.

      “Hey, you okay,” Nick said.

      “Can we talk in your dressing room?” Hayley asked. Nick nodded.

      “Sure, see you later, Frick,” Nick said.

      “Okay, Frack,” Brian said. Nick followed Hayley to his dressing room. He went in and she closed the door.

      “So, what’s up,” Nick said. She came over to him and kissed him deeply.

      “Nick, I can’t handle being just friends, I want to be more, I want you back, I want things to be the way they were before, I still love you,” Hayley said.

      “I would have waited forever for you, but I want things to be the way they were, and this time, I am never letting you go,” Nick said pulling her close. They kissed deeply.

      “Please don’t break my heart again,” Hayley said. Nick smiled.

      “Never again,” Nick said kissing her softly. The kiss deepened and they moved over and collapsed on the couch.

Chapter 4

Three weeks later, the word got out that Nick and Hayley were back together. They were in New York and Nick and Hayley went to MTV for an interview. They sat down with John Norris.

      “It is great to see you two back together,” John said.

      “Thank you, it’s great to be back together,” Nick said holding Hayley’s hand and squeezing.

      “We recently found out the reason you two broke up, you began dating Paris Hilton,” John said.

      “Don’t remind me, I don’t know why I did it, but I had made the biggest mistake of my life by breaking up with Hayley, but I will be forever grateful to Hayley for giving me another chance and there is no way I am screwing up this time, I have no intention of breaking up with Hayley again, she’s stuck with me,” Nick said.

      “Hayley, what made you give Nick another chance?” John asked.

      “Well, Nick and I agreed to be friends and we started hanging out together when the tour started, and I realized that I still loved him, that I couldn’t stop loving him, I thought a lot about it and I realized that I wanted him back, and Leighanne, Brian’s wife, told me that Nick wanted me back and just told me that he wanted to be friends because he thought that’s what I wanted, I wanted that at first but the more time I spent with Nick, it made me realize that I didn’t want to be without him,” Hayley said.

      “I would have waited forever for her to take me back,” Nick said.

      “You guys had a great fan response to your relationship, everywhere you guys went, fans wanted autographs and pics with the both of you,” John said.

      “We never got any hate mail, we would get fan mail saying that they love us together and they never want us apart, all the fans were happy for us, now that we are back together, we have more fan mail coming in for the both of us,” Hayley said.

      “Well, you have heard it here, Nick and Hayley together again, that is MTV News today, I’m John Norris, have a good afternoon,” John said. Nick and Hayley shook hands and they went back to the hotel. They went into his room and closed the door and locked it and she jumped on him. They kissed as he carried her into the bedroom and they collapsed on the bed.

      “Hayley, I love you,” Nick said.

      “I love you, too,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her deeply and moved his lips to her neck.

      “Nicky,” Hayley said.

      “Yeah,” Nick said.

      “Make love to me,” Hayley said. Nick pulled back and looked at her.

      “You always said you wanted to wait until marriage, I have always respected that, I wasn’t going to do anything more than kissing your neck, we have always made out,” Nick said.

      “I know, but I just love you so much, I want to be yours, forever,” Hayley said.

      “You will be, baby, doesn’t matter if I make love to you, you will be mine forever, there is no way I am letting you go,” Nick said kissing her lips softly.

      “Will you marry me, Nicky?” Hayley asked. Nick looked at her.

      “Hayley, are you asking me to marry you only so we can make love, is that the reason?” Nick asked sitting up.

      “Nicky, I want to be with you forever, that is why I’m asking you to marry me, I love you, and I want to be your wife,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her and got up.

      “I’ll be back,” Nick said. He went out the door. Hayley sat up and wondered where he was going.

Chapter 5

Nick left the jewelry store and headed for the exit when he saw Paris Hilton up ahead with some friends. He pretended not to see her and ignored her as he went by and went out the doors to his rental car. He headed back to the hotel. He went to his room and walked in and saw Hayley sitting on the couch. He sat down next to her and kissed her cheek.

      “Hey,” Nick said.

      “Where did you go?” Hayley asked.

      “The mall, something special, for you,” Nick said. He got up and got down on one knee. He pulled out a ring box and held it out to her. She opened it and gasped. She saw the most beautiful ring. She looked at him.

      “Hayley Ann Hardin, will you marry me?” Nick asked.

      “God yes!” Hayley said. He slid the ring on her finger. He kissed her hand and leaned up and kissed her deeply. They laid on the couch kissing. There was a knock at the door. Nick groaned and got up and opened the door and saw Paris standing there.

      “What the hell are you doing here?” Nick asked coldly.

      “You went past me at the mall without saying anything so I came here,” Paris said.

      “I don’t want anything to do with you, aren’t there some restraining order against me or something?” Nick asked.

      “No,” Paris said.

      “Sorry, I don’t want to see you or talk to you, leave me alone, goodbye,” Nick said shutting the door. He at down beside Hayley and kissed her deeply. They laid on the couch and kissed.

Epilogue

Three months later, Hayley and Nick were standing at the altar. They exchanged vows and rings and were pronounced husband and wife and they kissed. Everyone went to the reception. Two hours later, Nick and Hayley went on their honeymoon. They stood on the balcony and watched the sunset.

      “I love you, baby,” Nick said nuzzling her neck. She smiled.

      “I love you, too,” Hayley said. He picked her up and carried her back into the room and laid her on the bed and got on top of her.

      “I am so glad that we got married, I never want there to be a day without you in my life, I am so lucky to have you and I love you with all my heart and soul,” Nick said.

      “I love you, too, Nicky,” Hayley said. He kissed her deeply. They removed each other’s clothes and they made love. Afterwards, they laid there holding each other. After Nick went to sleep, Hayley laid there and watched him. She knew that she did the right thing by forgiving him. She didn’t know where she would be without him.
