Kevin sat there in the living room watching his bandmates talk about stuff. He couldn’t believe what his ex-wife told him. Kristin told him that Kevin’s new wife was having an affair with Nick. Kevin didn’t say anything to anyone because he wasn’t sure it was true. Kristin showed him pictures. Kevin knew it had to be true but didn’t say or do anything about it. He looked at Nick who was laughing at something Brian said.

      “Guys, the reason I called you over here today was because there is something I need to know the truth about,” Kevin said.

      “What’s up, cuz,” Brian said.

      “Kristin was here this morning, she had some pictures that she had to show me,” Kevin said.

      “Kristin was here, what did she want,” AJ said.

      “She told me that Nick and Hayley are having an affair and has pictures to prove it,” Kevin said.

      “What!” Nick said.

      “Is it true, Nick?” Kevin said.

      “Hell no, I wouldn’t do that to you and Hayley wouldn’t do that to you, you know us, Kev, you know when I’m lying, Hayley loves you to death and would never cheat on you or hurt you, all of us know that,” Nick said. Kevin looked at him.

      “Nick tells me everything, he didn’t tell me anything about having an affair with Hayley,” Brian said.

      “You are my cousin, he wouldn’t,” Kevin said.

      “I’m also his best friend, and Leighanne is Hayley’s best friend, she would tell Leighanne everything and Leighanne would tell me, she said nothing about having an affair,” Brian said.

      “Kev, man, you are my big brother, Hayley is my best friend, she’s like a sister to me, I love her but like a best friend, nothing more, and I would never do anything to destroy your marriage to her, who are you going to believe, your ex-wife or your little brother,” Nick said. Kevin looked at him and knew he was telling the truth.

      “I bet she wants me back and is trying to get me to leave my wife, so I would say I believe you, little brother,” Kevin said.

      “I know Hayley, she wouldn’t be able to live without you,” Nick said. Hayley came in with Leighanne behind her and they put their shopping bags down.

      “Hey boys,” Hayley said coming over and sitting down in Kevin’s lap and kissing him deeply.

      “Hey baby, what did you get,” Kevin said.

      “Some clothes that fit me better, I might be gaining weight or growing because my jeans were tight on me this morning, I guess I better stop pigging out,” Hayley said.

      “Maybe something else is happening,” Kevin said softly. Hayley shook her head.

      “Sorry baby, got my period a couple days ago,” Hayley said.

      “Damn,” Kevin said.

      “The time will come, baby, I know it will,” Hayley said. Kevin nodded and hugged her close.

      “We ran into Kristin at the mall, she called Hayley a slut,” Leighanne said.

      “Yeah, she also called me a cheater and said I didn’t deserve you and that you are better off with her,” Hayley said. Kevin groaned.

      “She told Kevin that you and I were having an affair and she said she has pictures,” Nick said.

      “That bitch, she just wants you back and will do anything to get you back,” Hayley said.

      “Let’s show her that we don’t believe anything she says,” Kevin said nuzzling her neck. Brian took pictures of them making out and holding each other. Brian wrote a letter and went and got the pictures developed and took the letter and pictures to Kristin. He ran the doorbell and she opened the door.

      “Hi Brian,” Kristin said.

      “This is for you, goodbye,” Brian said. He left. Kristin sat down and opened the envelope. She read the letter.

Kristin, look at these pictures. They are real and they were taken after you told Kevin that Hayley was cheating on him. It shows that Kevin is very committed to his wife and will never ever be with you, leave my cousin and his wife alone, leave us all alone and move on. You had your chance with Kevin and you blew it by cheating on him. Could you forgive him for cheating on you, no, you couldn’t. He can never forgive you. I know my cousin. Get a life and leave ours alone. Goodbye, Brian.

Kristin looked at the pictures and saw that they were pictures of Kevin and Hayley making out. She vowed to be with Kevin again, no matter what Brian said.  Kevin will be hers again.

Chapter 2

Hayley and Kevin laid in bed, kissing. He pulled back and stared into her eyes and stroked her cheek.

      “I love you so much, baby, I never want to be without you,” Kevin said.

      “I love you, too,” Hayley said.

      “I am so lucky, to have you, god, I want to have kids with you, as soon as we can, I want to start having kids,” Kevin said. Hayley smiled. She pulled him down and kissed him deeply.

      “It’s already started,” Hayley said.

      “What,” Kevin said.

      “I had to get clothes to fit because I found out this afternoon that I am three months pregnant,” Hayley said. Kevin grinned and kissed her hungrily.

      “Oh god, baby, you have no idea how happy I am,” Kevin said. He kissed her and put his hand on her stomach.

      “Our baby,” Kevin said.

      “A part of you and me,” Hayley said.

      “I am so happy, we are going to be a family,” Kevin said. Hayley smiled.

The next day, Hayley got the paper and saw a picture that made her sit down hard. On the front page was a picture of Nick in bed with a woman who the reporters say is Hayley. Kevin saw the paper and his eyes widened.

      “That bitch,” Kevin said. Nick, Brian, Howie, and AJ ran in and closed the door.

      “Reporters on the front lawn,” Brian said.

      “The bitch struck again,” Kevin said.

      “That’s not Hayley, that’s not even me!” Nick said.

      “We have to do some damaged control,” Kevin said.

The next day, the guys held a press conference. Hayley stood backstage with Leighanne.

      “Nick, is it true, are you and Kevin’s wife having an affair,” a reporter asked.

      “No, we are not having an affair, it’s false, we know that it’s Kristin, Kevin’s ex-wife, spreading the rumors because she wants to destroy Kevin’s marriage so she can have him back, she has been told time and time again that Kevin is married and happy, but she is desperately wanting him back,” Nick said.

      “Why did you and Kristin divorce, Kevin?” another reporter asked.

      “She had an affair, I walked in on her in bed with another guy, she can’t understand that fact that she destroyed the marriage, she can’t understand that I can’t forgive her, we have tried to get her to give up, but she won’t stop,” Kevin said.

      “I took pictures of Kevin and his wife and gave them to Kristin to show her that anything she does won’t do anything because Kevin is very committed to his new wife,” Brian said.

      “I love my wife very much and nothing Kristin does is ever going to make me leave her,” Kevin said.

After the press conference was over, Kevin went backstage and hugged Hayley.

      “I love you, baby,” Kevin said.

      “I love you, too,” Hayley said. The lights went out and Kevin felt Hayley pulled from him and he reached out and caught someone.

      “Hey!” he heard Brian say. The lights came on and Kevin saw he had a hold of Brian.

      “Oh god, where’s Hayley,” Kevin said looking around.

      “Nick’s gone, too,” Howie said.

      “Hayley was pulled from my arms,” Kevin said.

      “I heard Nick yelp from behind me,” AJ said.

      “That bitch is going to pay!” Kevin said angrily. They went to Kristin’s and Kevin pounded on the door. Kristin opened the door and saw him.

      “Kev,” Kristin said.

      “Where are they!” Kevin yelled. She looked at him.

      “Who?” Kristin asked.

      “Where are my wife and Nick, I know you had something to do with it!” Kevin said.

      “Where are they, Kristin, we know you had them kidnapped, you are trying to set it up to make it seem like they are having an affair,” Brian said.

      “Give it up, Kristin, nothing you do will ever get Kevin to leave his wife,” Howie said.

      “Tell us where they are now before we call the cops,” AJ said. Kristin looked at all four of them.

      “I don’t know,” Kristin said.

      “We know you had them taken, when are you going to realize that we are over, we were over when you fucked another guy, do you think you could have forgiven me if I fucked another girl?” Kevin asked angrily.

      “Well, no,” Kristin said.

      “Where’s my wife and little brother,” Kevin said glaring at her. Kristin looked at him.

      “Downstairs,” Kristin said. They went downstairs and saw Nick and Hayley tied up on the bed. Kevin untied Hayley while Brian untied Nick. Kevin took Hayley in his arms.

      “Oh god, baby, are you okay,” Kevin said.

      “She was in pain,” Nick said.

      “Hayley,” Kevin said. He took her to the hospital. Brian, Nick, Howie, and AJ sat in the waiting room.

Chapter 3

Hayley laid there as the doctor examined her. The doctor ran tests and left the room. Hayley looked at Kevin.

      “What if I had a miscarriage?” Hayley said.

      “We will try again, honey,” Kevin said kissing her hand.

      “It’s her fault, she found out that I was pregnant and punched me in the stomach,” Hayley said.

      “How did she find out?” Kevin asked.

      “I was showing and I said something about being sick,” Hayley said.

      “Damn her,” Kevin said. The doctor came in.

      “Well, good news, the baby is fine, tests show that it was hurt from you getting hit in the stomach, luckily it shows that the hit came above the uterus so it didn’t hurt the baby,” the doctor said.

      “Thank god,” Hayley said as Kevin hugged her.

Two weeks later, Hayley and Kevin were sitting at home when the phone rang. Kevin picked it up.

      “Hello, hey cuz, what, oh my god, we’ll be right there,” Kevin said. He hung up.

      “Kev,” Hayley said

      “Nick was in a car accident,” Kevin said. They went to the hospital. They found Nick’s room and went in and saw Howie, AJ, and Brian sitting around. Hayley saw Nick lying there with bandages around his head and a cast on his arm.

      “How bad is it,” Hayley said.

      “He’s got a concussion, a broken arm, he’s in a coma,” Brian said. Hayley sat down next to Nick and held his hand.

      “How did this happen,” Hayley said.

      “He was crossing the intersection and a drunk driver hit him on the driver’s side,” Brian said.  Hayley looked at Nick lying there. She shook her head.

      “Why did this happen!” Hayley cried. Kevin wrapped his arms around his wife.

      “Baby, it was an accident,” Kevin said.

      “An accident, a drunk driver who doesn’t care who they hit,” Hayley said crying.

      “Baby, stay calm, the baby,” Kevin said.

      “Nicky, you have to wake up, we all need you to wake up,” Hayley said. She held his hand tight and looked at her best friend. She stroked his hand.

      “I can’t leave him,” Hayley said.

      “I’ll stay here with you,” Kevin said. Hayley nodded and sat there watching Nick with Kevin by her side.

Three days later, Nick hasn’t woken up. Hayley never left his side. Kevin stayed with her. Kevin went to get her something to eat. Hayley sat there watching Nick. She saw his eyes fluttering and his head moved. She stood up.

      “Nicky,” Hayley said softly. His eyes slowly opened and looked at her and smiled.

      “Hey girl,” Nick said. She grinned and hugged him. Kevin came in.

      “Hey,” Kevin said.

      “He’s awake!” Hayley said. Kevin smiled.

      “I’ll get the doctor,” Kevin said. He went back out the door. Hayley hugged Nick and kissed his forehead.

      “How long have you been here?” Nick asked.

      “I have been here ever since I found out about the accident, I never left your side, I couldn’t, you’re my best friend, I would be lost without you, I know I would have Kevin, but I wouldn’t have my best friend if anything happened to you,” Hayley said.

      “I wouldn’t leave you guys,” Nick said. Kevin and the doctor came in and Hayley moved to let the doctor examine Nick. Kevin hugged Hayley.

Epilogue

Two days later, Nick was released from the hospital and Kevin and Hayley took him home. Hayley got Nick settled in. She sat on his bed.

      “I would have never gave up on you if you hadn’t had woken up,” Hayley said.

      “I know you wouldn’t,” Nick said. Hayley hugged him and went downstairs.

Six months later, Hayley was nine months along. She slowly made her way down the stairs and she slipped and fell down the stairs. She grabbed her stomach and cried out in pain. Kevin and Nick came in from the backyard and saw her and Kevin ran to her while Nick called 911. An ambulance comes and they loaded Hayley up in the ambulance and they went to the hospital. They rush her into the OR. Kevin and Nick were forced to wait in the waiting room. Nick called everyone. Everyone came in and sat down and waited for news. The doctor came out. Kevin stood up.

      “Mr. Richardson, if you could come with me, please,” the doctor said. Kevin followed the doctor. He came back crying.

      “Kev,” Nick said. He hugged Kevin as he broke down in Nick’s arms.

      “Kev, what is it,” Brian said.

      “The baby is fine, a healthy little boy,” Kevin said. Nick looked at him.

      “What about Hayley?” Nick asked softly. Kevin shook his head.

      “There was a lot of blood, they couldn’t stop it, she’s gone,” Kevin said crying. Nick hugged him.

Two weeks later, Kevin stood there at the window of Nick’s house where he and his son have been staying. Nick came in holding the baby who Kevin named Kevin Nickolas Richardson, Kevy for short.

      “Nick, thanks for helping out and letting me and Kevy stay here,” Kevin said softly.

      “Kev, it’s no problem, you two can move in here if you want,” Nick said. Kevin looked at him.

      “Do you mean it?” Kevin asked.

      “Of course, you are my big bro, you spent years taking care and watching out for me, it’s my turn,” Nick said sitting down gently with Kevy in his arms. Kevin watched Nick with his son.

      “I’ll have Brian and Howie get my stuff from the house,” Kevin said. He sat down.

      “I’ll be here for you, Kevin, you and Kevy, my godson,” Nick said.

      “Thanks, Nick, it means a lot to me,” Kevin said. Kevin went over to the window and watched the ocean. He told himself not to give up on life. He knew he had to go on for his son. He was never giving up on his life. He knew Hayley was watching over him and their son.
