Hayley stood backstage waiting to go onstage to perform. Her album was number Billboard Charts. She was on tour with Jessica Simpson and waiting to go onstage when her cell phone rang.

      “Hello,” Hayley said.

      “Hey baby,” Nick said.

      “Nicky, where are you!” Hayley said.

      “In Denver, and you are in LA,” Nick said.

      “I miss you so much,” Hayley said.

      “I miss you, too, but you know what, when the tours are over, we will be home at the same time,” Nick said.

      “I can’t wait to be in your arms again,” Hayley said.

      “Me either, baby, I love you so much, don’t worry, I am being completely faithful to you,” Nick said.

Hayley and Nick have had their ups and downs with him sleeping with girls on the road. Hayley told him that if he ever is unfaithful to her again, she was gone from his life forever.

      “You better be, I can’t be heartbroken again,” Hayley Said.

      “You won’t be,” Nick said. She heard a snicker in the background and a girl giggling and talking to Nick in a sexy voice.

      “Nick?” Hayley asked.

      “Yeah,” Nick said.

      “Are you cheating on me?” Hayley asked.

      “No, it’s just a groupie,” Nick said. Hayley saw them motioning that it was time.

      “I have to go, we will talk about this later,” Hayley said hanging up and she went onstage and performed. After she finished, she went to her dressing room and called Nick.

      “Hello,” a girl answered.

      “Uh, is Nick there?” Hayley asked.

      “He’s a little busy right now,” the girl said.

      “Who is this?” Hayley asked.

      “The name is Tammy, who’s this?” she said.

      “This is Hayley, his girlfriend!” Hayley said.

      “He said he didn’t have a girlfriend, you must think you are but he is totally single and having fun with me, goodbye,” Tammy said. She hung up. Hayley hung up and laid down and cried.

 

Chapter 2

 

Hayley laid there crying when Brian and Leighanne came in.

      “Hayley,” Brian said.

      “He’s cheating on me again,” Hayley said.

      “Are you sure?” Brian asked.

      “Some girl named Tammy, she answered his phone, she said he told her that he was single and having fun with her,” Hayley said as she started sobbing. Leighanne sat down and hugged her. Brian left the room and called Kevin. Brian went back in and sat down and took Hayley into his arms.

      “We are here for you,” Brian said. Hayley held onto him and cried.

Kevin arrived in Denver and went to Nick’s hotel. After getting clearance, he asked for Nick’s room and went up and knocked on the door. The door opened and a girl stood there.

      “Can I help you?” she asked.

      “Is Nick here,” Kevin said.

      “He’s asleep, and you are?” she asked.

      “I’m Kevin Richardson, and you must be Tammy,” Kevin said.

      “Yeah, his girlfriend,” Tammy said.

      “Did he actually say you were,” Kevin said.

      “In the throes of passion when we were having sex,” Tammy said.

      “Let’s see about it now,” Kevin said pulling her in and into the bedroom where Nick was sprawled out on the bed, naked. Kevin went and sat her down and told her not to move. He went over to the bed and shook Nick.

      “Nick, get up,” Kevin said. Nick woke and saw him and sat up.

      “Get dressed,” Kevin said. Nick got dressed. Kevin motioned Tammy and they all went out to the living room and sat down.

      “Who is this, Nick,” Kevin said.

      “Tammy,” Nick said.    

      “Is she your girlfriend?” Kevin asked.

      “You know Hayley is,” Nick said.

      “Tammy here said she was because you said so in the throes of passion last night while you two were having sex,” Kevin said.

      “I was drunk last night, me and the guys in the band went out partying last night after the show,” Nick said.

      “Brian just called me from LA, he’s with Hayley, you have screwed up this time, Hayley called here and Tammy told her that you said you were single and enjoying time with her,” Kevin said.

      “Oh god,” Nick said.

      “I would say you were definitely single now,” Kevin said.

      “We aren’t boyfriend and girlfriend?” Tammy asked.

      “I’m sorry, but no, I was drunk,” Nick said.

      “Every guy has an excuse,” Tammy said. She got her stuff and left.

      “When you are going to learn that Hayley can’t keep taking you back,” Kevin said.

      “I don’t need you telling me that I screwed up when I know I already did!” Nick said.

      “You need to stop this, you weren’t like this when we were on tour as a group,” Kevin said.

      “Maybe I’m trying to get attention, maybe I miss being with the group!” Nick said.

      “Then let’s get the guys together to work on a new album,” Kevin said.

      “I’m canceling the rest of the tour,” Nick said.

      “Nick, don’t, I’ll stay and help you, you only got two more cities left, might as well finish and we will get started on the new album,” Kevin said.

Hayley sat there in deep thought while Brian and Leighanne talked. Brian’s cell phone rang.

      “Hello, hey Kevin, what is going on, huh, oh great, what, he was just trying to get attention from us, what, so he’s okay now, yeah, okay, bye,” Brian said. He looked at Hayley.

      “What is the story?” Hayley asked.

      “Kevin said that Nick told him that he was drunk last night, he and the guys from the band went out partying last night, that girl Tammy probably knew he was drunk and took advantage of it, she had the nerve to tell Kevin that she was Nick’s girlfriend, Kevin asked Nick and he said his girlfriend was you,” Brian said.

      “Is that the story,” Hayley said.

      “Yeah,” Brian said.

      “I don’t buy it,” Hayley said.

      “Nick never lies to Kevin, that’s for sure, he tried once but Kevin saw through him,” Brian said.

      “Hayley, you two need to talk about this,” Leighanne said.

      “I’m done, with everything, I am not going to take him back again,” Hayley said.

      “Hayley,” Brian said.

      “No, don’t even talk me out of it, he needs to grow up and realize that I am not going to keep taking him back, he needs to learn his lesson, I am not going to go down that road again,” Hayley said.

      “He had plans after the tours were over, Hayley,” Brian said. Hayley looked at him.

      “Plans?” Hayley asked.

      “Yeah, it was suppose to be a surprise, before the tour, he and I went shopping, he got you an engagement ring, he was going to ask you to marry him after the tour was over, he had everything planned before the tour started,” Brian said. Hayley sat down.

 

Chapter 3

 

Hayley laid in her hotel room thinking of everything Brian said. She turned on the TV and saw a video coming on. It was Everybody (Backstreet’s Back). She always thought that Nick looked sexy in his mummy costume. She remembered the day they met was the day after they finished shooting the video. She closed her eyes and laid there looking at the ceiling. She went to sleep.

Three days later, the tour was over and she returned home and found Nick sitting on the couch.

      “Hi,” Nick said. She put her bags down.

      “If you think everything is going to be okay, think again, I have taken you back numerous of times, I never learned, you keep hurting me, well, this was the last time, we are finished, over, done,” Hayley said. He looked at her.

      “I love you,” Nick said. She started to say something but he was in front of her on his knee holding up a ring box, with the most beautiful ring inside it.

      “Nick,” Hayley said.

      “I wanted to do this before we both left on tour but I wanted to wait until afterwards when there was nothing holding us down, no commitments, just you and me alone together, I was going to take you to Hawaii and propose, but that didn’t work out, I know I screwed up but I want to prove to you that I want you forever and no one else, I love you with all my heart and soul and I can’t live without you, I want to marry you tomorrow, have a family with you, grow old with you,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

      “No, I can’t, Nick, I’m sorry, but I can’t be hurt again, I can’t go through that again,” Hayley said. She walked upstairs and closed the door and locked it and leaned against it crying.

Nick went to Kevin’s house and knocked on the door. Kevin opened the door and saw him.

      “Well?” Kevin asked.

      “Why am I screw up,” Nick said.

      “She turned you down,” Kevin said.

      “Yeah, I lost her for good, why am I so stupid!” Nick said.

      “Nick, think before you act,” Kevin said.

      “I know, dammit!” Nick said.

Three weeks later, the guys were in the studio working on an album. They recorded a song that Nick wanted to send to Hayley. He mailed a copy to her house, along with the ring.

Hayley got the mail and she received a package. She opened it and saw a letter from Nick.

Hayley, I know you don’t want anything to do with me but here is a copy of the first song we recorded for the new album. It is dedicated to you. After listening to it, open up the small envelope inside. Nick

Hayley put the tape in and listened to it. After it was over, she opened the envelope. Inside she saw the ring and a small note.

Marry me, Hayley, please, be mine forever, no more heartbreak this time. I promise with all my heart and soul. I’m on my knees crawling back to you. Nick.  P.S. open the front door. Hayley opened the front door and saw Nick on his knees with a rose. He held it out to her. She took it and pulled him in. She slid the ring on her finger.

      “Yes,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her deeply. He held her head in his hands and rested his forehead against hers.

      “God, I love you so much, I was lost without you, I never want to be apart from you again, I guess that was the problem, I wanted to be with you and I knew we couldn’t and I got lonely, but I want to start fresh now, no more thinking of the past, just want to think about now and the future, you are my life, Hayley, nothing else matters but you,” Nick said.

      “Nick, this is the last time I’m taking you back,” Hayley said.

      “I will never do anything to hurt you again, my heart broke when yours did,” Nick said. He kissed her gently. She led him upstairs.

 

Chapter 4

 

Hayley led Nick down to her bedroom and closed the door. She pulled him over to the bed. She sat him down and straddled him.

      “Baby,” Nick said.

      “Yeah,” Hayley said.

      “Before we do anything, I want you to know that I am safe, completely, like I always have been, you won’t get any diseases or anything, I made sure a week ago,” Nick said.

      “I trust you,” Hayley said as she began kissing him deeply. She removed her clothes and removed his and pushed him down on the bed and began kissing his neck.

      “Oh god, baby, I want to make love to you,” Nick said. Hayley pulled back.

      “I have to ask, have you made love to anyone else?” Hayley asked.

      “No, I never made love to anyone but you, only you, baby, you are the only one I want to make love to,” Nick said running his hands down her body. He kissed her deeply and moved her under him and began kissing her passionately. The phone rang. Nick groaned and picked it up.

      “Hello, hey Kev, what, I’m with Hayley right now, yeah, she did, we are making up, yeah, talk to you later, bye,” Nick said.

      “What’s up?” Hayley asked.

      “Kevin wanted me back at the studio but when I said I was with you and you accepted my proposal, he understood that I would want to be here so they are calling it a day,” Nick said.

      “Is that going to be a problem?” Hayley asked.

      “No, he wanted to go spend time with Kris and Brian wanted to go spend time with Leigh and Baylee,” Nick said.

      “Make love to me, Nicky,” Hayley said pulling him down to kiss him. He began kissing her neck. He moved down and kissed her breasts. He took a nipple in his mouth and sucked deep. She held his head close as he bathed her nipple with his tongue. He ran a hand down and went between her thighs and pushed a finger inside her. She came up off the bed. He smiled as he moved down and kissed her stomach. He continued down to between her legs and replaced his finger with his tongue.

      “Oh god, Nicky,” Hayley moaned.

      “You taste good, baby, you always have,” Nick said huskily as he made love to her with his tongue. She came in his mouth. He swallowed her offering and moved up and kissed her deeply, allowing her to taste herself. She reached down and wrapped her fingers around his manhood.

      “Your turn,” Hayley said pushed him back and she got on top of him and took him deep in her mouth and began sucking and caressing his length. Nick grabbed at the sheets and moaned. He ran his hands through her hair. He cried out as he came in her mouth. She swallowed his offering and moved up and kissed him, letting him taste himself. She laid beside him and cuddled up to him.

      “God, I love you so much,” Nick said.

      “I love you, too, was it like that with anyone else,” Hayley said.

      “Hell no, there was never any foreplay, you are the only one I have ever made love to you and you are the only one I am going to be sleeping with, you are never leaving my side again, when the guys and I go on tour, you are coming with us, I’ll make sure of it, I am never leaving you again, you can come and open for us,” Nick said.

      “Will the guys go for that?” Hayley said.

      “Do you even have to ask, they will want you to, you are like a sister to them, watch, you come with me to the studio tomorrow and ask if you can open for us on tour, see what they say,” Nick said.

      “I love you,” Hayley said.

      “I love you, too, now let’s make love,” Nick said. He moved on top of her.

      “Protection?” Hayley asked. He got out a condom and slid it on and started to enter her but she stopped him and pulled the condom off and threw it across the room. He looked at her.

      “I don’t want anything between us, no barriers, I want to feel you,” Hayley said.

      “Are you sure?” Nick said.

      “Yes, we are getting married, Nicky, if I end up pregnant, it will be right,” Hayley said. He smiled and kissed her deeply and pushed deep inside her. They moved together in unison. She cried out as she came around him. He came behind her, spilling his love for her deep inside her. He collapsed on top of her and buried his face in her neck.

      “God I love you so much,” Nick said.

      “I love you, too,” Hayley said. They cuddled up and went to sleep in each other’s arms.

 

Chapter 5

 

The next day, Hayley and Nick walked into the studio holding hands. The guys saw them and smiled.

      “Well, it’s about time!” Brian said coming over and hugging them.

      “I suppose you all know that we are engaged,” Nick said.

      “Kevin told us, Frack, congratulations,” Brian said hugging him. Leighanne came running in with Baylee.

      “Guys,” Leighanne said. Brian took Baylee.

      “Honey,” Brian said.

      “I found this,” Leighanne said holding up a magazine. Hayley read it.

      “I’m having Nick Carter’s baby, our two days of passion, oh my god,” Hayley said. Kevin looked at it.

      “It’s that girl, Tammy,” Kevin said. He looked at Nick who had leaned against the wall and slid down and covered his face. Hayley went into another room. AJ followed her. Kevin knelt down in from of him.

      “Could my life get any worse, god, now I know I’m a screw up, I get drunk and get some girl pregnant,” Nick said.

      “Nick, let’s go check out the story, this could be trash,” Kevin said.

      “I have to find Hayley,” Nick said getting up. He went into another room and found AJ sitting on the couch next to Hayley.

      “Hayley,” Nick said. Hayley looked up at him. AJ left the room. Nick sat down.

      “I can’t believe this,” Hayley said.

      “It could be a lie, I mean, she told Kevin she was my girlfriend but when I denied it, she wasn’t happy, she could be doing this as revenge, Kevin and I are going to find out,” Nick said.

      “I’ll come with you,” Hayley said.

      “Hayley,” Nick said.

      “Nick, if we are going to be married, we have to deal with everything together,” Hayley said.

      “Let’s get married now,” Nick said.

      “Nick,” Hayley said.

      “Hayley, we have known each other since we were born, we have been together as a couple for four years, baby, it’s time, we can get married now and then have a big wedding later,” Nick said.

      “Nick, why are you such a hurry to marry me,” Hayley said.

      “I’m scared to lose you again, Hayley, I can’t be without you again, I love you so much, my life would be over if I was without you,” Nick said. Hayley kissed him deeply.

      “If you want to get married, let’s get married, I really want to be your wife, I want to be with you forever, getting married will show how much you want me and only me,” Hayley said stroking his cheek.

      “That is the way I want it to be, to be with you and only you,” Nick said.

      “Let’s get married,” Hayley said. Nick picked her up and swung her around kissing her. They went out and got the others and headed to the courthouse. Kevin called Kristin to meet them there. Howie called Pollyanna. They arrived at the courthouse. While Nick and Hayley were talking to the judge and getting a marriage license, the guys talked. Kristin and Pollyanna came in.

      “Are they sure about this,” Brian said.

      “It’s their decision, guys, we should support them, they want to be together forever, besides they will have a traditional ceremony later, they just want to commit to each other and get married now,” Leighanne said holding Baylee.

      “We should support them,” AJ said.

      “Yeah,” Howie said.

      “If we stop this now, they will get married without us,” Kevin said.

      “They are our best friends, guys, we should be supportive,” Kristin said.

            “Guys, come on,” Nick said. They went into a room. Nick and Hayley stood in front of a justice of the peace. They exchanged vows and the rings they got on the way to the courthouse. They were pronounced husband and wife and Nick kissed Hayley.  They hugged everyone. Nick kissed Hayley and left with Kevin for Denver.

      “Hayley, I thought you were going with them?” Leighanne said.

      “Nick thought it would better if I didn’t go,” Hayley said.

The next day, Hayley was lying on the couch when Nick came in. They hugged.

      “I love you!” Nick said.

      “What is it,” Hayley said.

      “It was a lie, she’s not having my baby,” Nick said. Hayley kissed him deeply. He picked her up and carried her upstairs to the bedroom and laid her on the bed and got on top of her and removed her clothes and removed his and they made love for the first time as husband and wife.

 

Epilogue

 

Nine months later, Hayley sat there in the nursery looking at her and Nick’s baby girl who was born the day before. Nick sat beside her.

      “She is an absolute angel,” Hayley said.

      “Yes, she is, she is beautiful, like her mother,” Nick said.

      “Emily Nicole Carter,” Hayley said.

      “I love you so much,” Nick said.

      “I love you, too,” Hayley said.

      “Thank you for our baby girl,” Nick said.

      “Thank you for our baby girl,” Hayley said. They kissed and continued watching their daughter sleep.
