“Hey,” Nick said.

“Nick, you should go,” Hayley said. Nick got up and got dressed and came over to her and tried to put his arms around her but she moved away.

“Nick, go, please,” Hayley said. Nick nodded and left. Hayley made the bed and sat down. Kevin came in with Kristin behind him.

“We saw Nick leave, Hayley, what’s going on,” Kevin said sitting down beside her. Kristin sat on the other side.

“Everything,” Hayley said. She told them what’s been going on.

“I can’t believe he’s cheating on his wife,” Kevin said.

“I keep telling him it’s wrong and we shouldn’t do it but he doesn’t listen and goes on to seduce me,” Hayley said.

“Hayley, do you say no,” Kristin said.

“I can’t, I’ve fallen for him, big time,” Hayley said.

“Oh boy,” Kevin said.

“I don’t know what to do,” Hayley said.

“Hayley, you have to say no,” Kevin said. Hayley nodded.

That night, Hayley was watching TV when Nick came in and sat down beside her. He began kissing her neck. Hayley pushed him away.

“Hayley,” Nick said.

“Nick, no, it’s wrong and we can’t do it anymore, please leave,” Hayley said.

“I know you want it, Hayley,” Nick said.

“Not anymore, I can’t do this anymore, Nick, we have to stop, it’s wrong, you are cheating on your wife, who loves you a lot, you married her, Nick, you can’t be married to someone else and sleeping with me, you need to be with your wife, please leave!” Hayley said. Nick sighed and got up and left. Hayley locked up and went to bed. In the middle of the night, she was woken up by someone removing her clothes. She opened her eyes and saw Nick.

“Nick, stop, please,” Hayley said. He laid on top of her and kissed her deeply.

“Nick, no, we can’t,” Hayley said. He opened her legs and laid between them and pushed himself inside her. She moaned and closed her eyes and moved with him and pushed him deeper inside her. He came spilling his seed deep inside her and she came around him and cried out his name and he laid on top of her and kissed her hungrily. He pulled back and looked at her.

“You can’t deny it, Hayley, you can’t stop this, you know me, you can’t keep it from happening,” Nick said. He got up and got dressed and left. Hayley laid there as tears ran down her face. She put her pajamas back on and went to sleep. The next day, Kevin and Kristin came over and she told them what happened.

“His wife is back in town, she just got back awhile ago, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other,” Kristin said.

“But can you leave him be?” Kristin asked.

“I have to,” Hayley said. Kevin and Kristin hugged her and left. Hayley laid on the couch and watched TV. The front door opened and closed and Nick came in. He looked at her and smiled and came over to her and she got up and jumped on him. He carried her upstairs and laid her on the bed and got on top of her and removed their clothes and they had sex. Afterwards, he sat up and looked at her. She sat up.

“I can’t stop this, Hayley, I want you so bad all the time,” Nick said.

“I feel the same way,” Hayley said.

“Nikki leaves again in a week, she’ll be gone for two months, I want to spend those two months with you, all the time,” Nick said.

“Me, too, I don’t know what I wanted to stop things but I can’t deny it anymore, I can’t stop this, I want you all the time,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her and they held each other.

“I want to make love to you, Hayley,” Nick said.

“Make love to me, Nick,” Hayley said. He got on top of her and they made love.

Two months went by. Nick and Hayley spent the whole two months in Hayley’s bed, making love every day and night. Nick went home to wait for his wife. Kevin and Kristin came over.

“Hayley, this has gone too far, you know this is wrong,” Kevin said.

“I know, but I can’t help it,” Hayley said. Kevin’s phone rang. He went to answer it. A few minutes later, he came back.

“That was Nick, Nikki’s home and she’s having his baby,” Kevin said.

“It has to end, Hayley, you have to do the right thing,” Kristin said. Hayley looked at them and nodded. They left. Hayley laid there staring at the ceiling. She heard the door open and close and Nick slowly walked into the room. She sat up and looked at him.

“Hayley,” Nick said.

“I know you are going to be a father, Kevin and Kristin were here when you called him, we can’t do this anymore, you have to be there for Nikki, you guys are going to be a family and I can’t destroy that, you can’t destroy that,” Hayley said.

“I know, I wish things could be different,” Nick said.

“Yeah, I know, you better go back to your wife,” Hayley said. Nick hugged her and left.

Chapter 2

Three months went by. Hayley was feeling alone. AJ came over and they hung out. Hayley ran to the bathroom and threw up. AJ knelt down and rubbed her back. He took her to the doctor and Dr. Kelly examined her. They were waiting when they heard voices out in the hallway. AJ went to the door and saw Nick and Nikki coming down the hall and Nick looked up and saw AJ.

“J, what are you doing here,” Nick said. He came to the doorway and saw Hayley sitting on the table. He came in with Nikki behind him.

“Hayley, you okay,” Nick said.

“I’m fine, Nick, just a checkup, I had a cold and was just checking up on it,” Hayley said.

“Hayley, I have your test results,” Dr. Kelly said coming in.

“Nick, I’ll be fine, you guys can go on, AJ is with me so I’m fine,” Hayley said.

“I want to see what the doctor says,” Nick said.

“Fine,” Hayley said.

“Dr. Kelly, what’s wrong with Hayley, does she have the 24 hour bug or something?” AJ asked. Dr. Kelly looked at them.

“More like the nine month bug,” Dr. Kelly said.

“What,” Hayley said.

“What,” AJ said.

“You are four months pregnant, Hayley,” Dr. Kelly said.

“Oh my god,” Hayley said. AJ took her home. She walked in and started pacing.

“Hayley, whose baby is it?” AJ asked.

“Who was in the room with us besides the doctor and Nikki,” Hayley said.

“You are having Nick’s baby, too!” AJ said.

“I’m having Nick’s baby, Nikki isn’t, I have proof that she cheated on Nick and is having her lover’s baby, she is passing it off as Nick’s,” Hayley said.

“You have to tell Nick,” AJ said.

“He won’t believe me, he’ll think I’m lying just to cause trouble so I can be with him again,” Hayley said.

“I have an idea,” AJ said.

The next day, Kevin and Kristin were brought in on the plan and they got Nick out of the house. Hayley stayed out of sight and listened as AJ talked to Nikki. She called Kevin to have Nick brought back. Soon Kevin and Kristin snuck in with Nick. Nick listened to the conversation.

“So, AJ, what really brings you by,” Nikki said.

“I have proof that you are not having Nick’s baby,” AJ said.

“What, how did you get proof?” Nikki said.

“I have my sources, you had an affair and got pregnant and is passing the baby off as Nick’s because of Nick’s money, right,” AJ said.

“I never wanted anyone to know,” Nikki said. Nick came into the living room.

“So it is true,” Nick said.

“Nick,” Nikki said.

“Get your stuff and get out, since you signed a prenup, you aren’t getting anything from me, AJ, make sure she doesn’t touch my stuff, I need to get out of here,” Nick said. He left and went to Hayley’s. He walked in and saw her lying on the couch. He went over to her and pulled her up and kissed her deeply.

“Nick,” Hayley said.

“Nikki had an affair, she’s not having my baby, but you are, I want to be with you, Hayley, with you and our baby, it’s always been you that I’ve wanted to be with,” Nick said resting his forehead against hers.

“Oh god, Nick, I want to be with you, too,” Hayley said holding onto him.

Chapter 3

Nick went home to talk to Nikki about the divorce. Hayley laid there smiling and thinking about the future. An hour later, Nick returned and looked at her and she noticed he was upset.

“Nick,” Hayley said.

“This is hard for me to say, Hayley, I can’t be with you anymore, I need to be there for my wife and child, she is having my child, she had another test done, it’s my baby, I have to be there for her, which means that I can’t be with you anymore, and I can’t see you anymore,” Nick said.

“Nick,” Hayley said with tears running down her cheeks.

“And I can’t have anything to do with our baby, I’m sorry, I can’t have no contact with you at all, goodbye,” Nick said as he went out the door. Hayley stood there in shock. She started shaking and collapsed on the couch crying. AJ came in and saw her and she told him what happened. He sat down and took her into his arms and held her as she cried.

Chapter 4

Hayley fell asleep crying. AJ carried her up to her room and laid her on the bed and left the room and went downstairs and called Howie and Kevin. They came over. Kristin came with Kevin.

“What happened?” Kevin asked.

“Nick destroyed her, he came over and told her that he can’t have anything to do with her anymore and he can’t have anything to do with the baby, she was breaking down when I got here,” AJ said.

“That asshole!” Kevin said quietly.

“I thought he was ending things with Nikki,” Howie said.

“I thought so, too,” AJ said.

“Something is going on,” Kevin said. Brian came in with Leighanne.

“Brian, have you talked to Nick, what is going on with him,” Kevin said.

“Apparently the baby Nikki is carrying is Nick’s, and that Hayley made up false paternity papers to break up their marriage,” Brian said.

“Nikki admitted everything,” AJ said.

“She knew Hayley was listening,” Brian said.

“So he seriously wants nothing to do with Hayley or the baby?” Kevin said.

“Yeah, he doesn’t want her anymore, Nick wouldn’t lie to me,” Brian said.

“I can’t believe this,” Kevin said.

“That bastard,” Kristin said.

“Kris,” Kevin said.

“Don’t defend him, Kevin, this is wrong, the baby Hayley is carrying is his, he should be there for it, he should not abandon his own child,” Kristin said.

“I’m not defending him, and you are right,” Kevin said.

“He made her fall for him, she knew getting involved with a married man was wrong, he kept seducing her and he made her fall in love with him, he didn’t use protection and he got her pregnant knowing she wasn’t on birth control and he told her not to worry about protection, they will deal with it when it happens, well, it did and now he wants nothing to do with her or the baby,” Kristin said.

“I say we have a group meeting, Leighanne, you keep Nikki busy,” AJ said. Leighanne nodded.

“Kris, you stay with Hayley so she won’t be alone,” Kevin said. Kristin nodded. The guys and Leighanne went out the door. Kristin sat down. Hayley slowly made her way down the stairs.

“Hey, where’s AJ?” Hayley asked.

“He left with the guys, asked me to stay with you,” Kristin said.

“I suppose you know,” Hayley said.

“Yeah, and so does the guys and Leighanne, they aren’t happy,” Kristin said.

“I thought he was the one, I thought he cared about me, he just proved that he didn’t,” Hayley said. Kristin looked at her.

“Hayley, AJ, Howie, Kevin, Brian, Leighanne, and I are here for you,” Kristin said.

“I know, and thanks,” Hayley said. Kristin hugged her and Hayley went back up to her room and went back to sleep.

Meanwhile at Nick’s house…

Leighanne took Nikki shopping while the guys talked to Nick.

“Nick, you have gone insane,” AJ said.

“Nothing you say will change anything, my place is with my wife,” Nick said.

“You got Hayley pregnant and you are turning your back on the baby she’s carrying,” Kevin said. Nick looked at him.

“Are you sure it’s mine?” Nick asked.

“What are you talking about?” Kevin asked.

“Nick, the baby is yours, remember the two months Nikki was gone, you were with Hayley day and night,” AJ said.

“I have papers that show that the baby is Kevin’s,” Nick said.

“Bullshit, I never was unfaithful to my wife, and around the time Hayley conceived and Kris and I know when she did, me and Kris were in Kentucky with my mom, Brian and Leighanne were with us,” Kevin said.

“That’s true,” Brian said.

“Nick, get your head out of your ass and realize what’s going on, you are abandoning a child you created with Hayley, you told her not to worry about birth control, you will deal with it when something happens, well, something did happen, you got her pregnant and you throw her away like she was garbage, like she was nothing, that is so unlike you,” AJ said.

“You completely destroyed her, Nick, she cried herself to sleep, she could lose the baby if she keeps it up, do you really want that, a little innocent life dying,” Howie said. Kevin’s phone rang.

“Hello, honey, what, oh my god, we’ll be right there,” Kevin said.

“Kev,” AJ said.

“Kris just took Hayley to the hospital,” Kevin said as he ran out the door. AJ, Howie, and Brian behind him. They got to the hospital and found Kristin in the waiting room.

“What happened,” Kevin said.

“She slit her wrists, I found her in the bathroom with blood all over her,” Kristin said. Nick came in and looked at them.

“What happened,” Nick said.

“Like you care!” Kristin said angrily.

“Kris, please,” Nick said.

“She tried to kill herself, she felt as she had nothing to live for!” Kristin cried.

“Honey,” Kevin said.

“No, you caused this, you threw her away, she felt as she had nothing, you didn’t care about her or the baby, it was like wham bam thank you ma’am to you,” Kristin said.

“Kris,” Brian said.

“What!” Kristin said. She saw Nikki and Leighanne standing there. Nikki came over to Nick.

“Nick, I lied to you, the baby I’m carrying isn’t yours, Hayley was right all along, about everything,” Nikki said. Nick looked at her.

“I can’t believe you,” Nick said.

“I’ll give you a divorce and I’ll be out of the house soon,” Nikki said. She left.

“Mrs. Richardson, you can see Hayley now,” Dr. Kelly said.

“Can I go?” Nick asked.

“No!” Kristin said. She went to Hayley’s room and saw her looking out the window.

“Kris, why did you bring me here?” Hayley asked.

“You are my best friend, Hayley, I couldn’t lose you,” Kristin said.

“I didn’t want to be here,” Hayley said.

“Hayley, you wouldn’t have been alone, me and Kev, AJ, Howie, Brian and Leighanne would have been there for you, you wouldn’t be alone,” Kristin said. Hayley looked and saw Nick standing at the doorway.

Chapter 5

Hayley laid there looking at Nick who stood at the door. He came over and looked at her. Kristin left the room. Nick sat down.

“I’m sorry, for what I did, what I said, I feel like an idiot, Nikki just admitted that she lied about everything and I was stupid enough to believe her, she told me she was going to go to the press if I didn’t stay with her, I didn’t want you to go through that, I didn’t want you to be labeled as a homewrecker, I didn’t want you to get stressed out by the press and lose the baby,” Nick said.

“But you chose to break my heart instead,” Hayley said.

“Not intentionally, it was my fault, Hayley, you getting pregnant, us being together, I kept coming for more and you kept saying it was wrong, but I couldn’t stop being with you, it felt like you completed me, it was nothing like it used to be with Nikki, the first time we slept together, I felt like I was in heaven, I felt like it was where I belonged, I know I have fallen in love with you, Hayley, and I will spend the rest of my life making things up to you, if you give me the chance,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him and nodded. Nick smiled and kissed her deeply.

“I am not going to let you go this time, this time it’s forever, Nikki is letting me have the divorce and I want to marry you, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I want to have lots of babies with you, I want everything to be with you,” Nick said. Hayley smiled.

“Yes!” Hayley said. They kissed deeply.

Three months later, Hayley and Nick were married and Hayley was seven months along and they were happy. Hayley stood outside on the patio, watching the ocean. Nick came out and wrapped his arms around her from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder.

“I love you,” Nick said.

“I love you, too,” Hayley said. They stood there and watched the waves and knew that they were never going to be apart.
