Hayley sat in her office at Brock Advertising Company. She was CEO of the company and a very busy woman. She had long brown hair with brown eyes. She was tall and average. She was engaged to be married to her dad's friend's son. They were set up by their dads and grew to love each other. Hayley knew the union won't last forever but she knew she had to do it for her father. Her fiancée, Ryan had to do it for his dad. He never ever hurt Hayley. He
treated her like a princess. She was working on some paper work when she heard voices and looked up and saw five guys come into her office.
"Can I help you?" Hayley asked.
"Are you Hayley?" one of them asked.
"Yes, I am," Hayley said.
"I'm Kevin Richardson, this is Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, and
Howie Dorough, we are the Backstreet Boys," Kevin said.
"What can I help you with?" Hayley asked.
"One of your employees asked us to let your company consider helping us sell our new cd, we come in and the guy acts like he never talked to us,
acts like he doesn't know what we are talking about" Kevin said.
"Which guy?" Hayley asked.
"His name was Greg Frazier," Kevin said. Hayley pushed the button on her phone.
"Dana," Hayley said.
"Yes, Ms. Hardin," Dana said.
"Have Greg come to my office now, please," Hayley said.
"Yes, ma'am," Dana said.
"Have a seat, guys, I'm sure we can work this out," Hayley said. Greg came in and saw Hayley.
"Yes, Ms. Hardin," Greg said.
"Did you ask the Backstreet Boys to consider letting us help them sell their new cd?" Hayley asked.
"No," Greg said.
"That's a lie," AJ said.
"Who are you?" Greg asked.
"We are the Backstreet Boys," Kevin said.
"Greg, tell me the truth," Hayley said.
"I thought they were N'Sync, I got them mixed up, I am sorry," Greg said.
"Greg, please go back to work and don't do this again," Hayley said.
"Yes, ma'am," Greg said. He left the office.
"I am sorry for what he did, if you would like, I would be happy to consider helping you guys sell your cd, and I will personally handling everything myself," Hayley said.
"Are you really the CEO of the company?" Nick asked.
"Yes, I am, my father turned over the company to me and he retired, I'm his only child, my mother comes in to check on everything, my father is now
disabled so he can't get around like he used to," Hayley said.
"Are you married?" Nick asked.
"I'm engaged to be married, to my dad's friend's son, his father and my father wanted us together, once I am married, my soon-to-be husband will be taking over as CEO, it's all about business," Hayley said.
"Where's the love in this?" Nick said.
"He and I have grown to love each other," Hayley said.
"Nick, stop asking about her personal life," Brian said.
"Ms. Hardin, we would like to use your company to help us sell our new cd," Kevin said.
"I'll get the paperwork started," Hayley said. They went over the paperwork. Nick kept watching Hayley.

Chapter 2

Two weeks later, Hayley spent time with the Backstreet Boys and got to know each guy and they all became friends. Hayley didn't notice that Nick was watching her every move every time she was in the same room as them. She was in her office going over some paperwork when Ryan came in and she saw him and smiled.
"Hey," Hayley said.
"Hello future wife of mine, I have a proposition, about the company, when we get married, I'm not taking over as CEO, I'm going to med school to
become a doctor, I talked to my father and he is all for it, but we need to break the news to your dad," Ryan said.
"This will not be good, this will kill him, he doesn't want me to be CEO forever, he wants his son-in-law to run the company," Hayley said.
"My dad wanted me to be a doctor," Ryan said.
"We will tell him tonight," Hayley said.
"I'll see you later," Ryan said kissing her forehead and he went out the door. Hayley called her mother and told her to expect her and Ryan over to the house that night. She heard the door close and she looked up and saw Nick standing there with flowers.
"Hi," Nick said handing her the flowers.
"Wow, thanks for the flowers, Nick, they are beautiful, what are they for?" Hayley said.
"For being beautiful and sweet," Nick said.
"Nick, what is going on," Hayley said.
"I know you are engaged but I can't help how I feel, I have fallen for you, Hayley, very deeply," Nick said. She shook her head.
"Nick, I can't do this, I have to marry Ryan, it's what my dad and his dad want," Hayley said.
"Give me a chance here, I'm completely opening my heart here, for two years, I have closed off my heart afraid of it getting it broken again, my ex-girlfriend broke my heart by cheating on me in my own house with her ex, do you know how to handle it if you walk in on the one you love in bed with another girl," Nick said.
"No, I don't know how it feels because Ryan has always been completely faithful to me, and he knows that if he cheats on me at all, he will be disinherited by his father and disowned," Hayley said.
"Where's the love?" Nick said.
"There is love, Nick, Ryan and I do love each other," Hayley said.
"We could be good together, Hayley," Nick said.
"Nick, I am taken, okay, not available," Hayley said.
"I can't stop thinking about you, I have been in love with you from the first moment I saw you," Nick said.
"Nick, give it up, okay, I am getting married to Ryan and there is nothing that can change my mind," Hayley said. Nick pulled her up and kissed her
deeply. She tried to push him away but he wouldn't let her go. She felt something and gave into the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer. He lifted her onto her desk and they began making out. She pulled back and looked at him and got up and straightened up.
"I think you better go, this can't happen again," Hayley said. Nick straightened and looked at her and left. She sat down at her desk and thought about everything and covered her face with her hands.

Chapter 3

That night, Hayley and Ryan met with her parents and Ryan told them everything. Hayley's father understood and told Hayley that married or not,
she will be CEO of the company until it's time for her to retire and turn over the company to her heir. They began wedding plans as Hayley suggested that the wedding happen as soon as possible. They sent invitations out but she neglected to send one to Nick as for the reason being that she was afraid he would cause a scene and stop the wedding. Soon it was her wedding day. She was in the bride’s room getting ready with her mom. She went outside for some fresh air when she saw Nick standing there.
"Please don't marry him," Nick said.
"And why not," Hayley said.
"Because you want to be with me, I felt it when we kissed, Hayley, you wanted it as much as I did," Nick said.
"You knew I was engaged, I can't back out now, Nick, I want to marry him," Hayley said.
"You want to be with me, Hayley, you are in denial," Nick said.
"Leave me alone, Nick, I am marrying Ryan, no matter what, you and I don't have a future, my future is with Ryan," Hayley said.
"No, it's with me," Nick said.
"Go away," Hayley said.
"No, not until you are mine, that you leave with me now, we can be happy, Hayley, we can, I can make you happy," Nick said.
"Do you want to make me happy?" Hayley asked.
"Yes," Nick said.
"Leave me alone and don't bother me," Hayley said.
"Hayley, please, don't marry him, come be with me, I want to be with you so badly," Nick said.
"Nick, no, enough of this, leave me alone, please, I am marrying Ryan," Hayley said.
"You don't know what you are giving up," Nick said. He left. She went back inside and sat down and thought about what happened. No one will know that
she has fallen for Nick.

Chapter 4

Hayley walked down the aisle to Ryan who was smiling at her. She looked at him and she stood in front of him and looked into his eyes. She looked at
everyone and looked at Ryan. The ceremony began and she and Ryan were married. They went to the reception and Hayley was talking with Brian,
Kevin, Howie, and AJ.
"Guys, thanks for coming tonight," Hayley said.
"We wouldn't miss it for anything, and we are glad Nick didn't show up
during the ceremony to cause trouble," Kevin said.
"He did show up before the ceremony to get me to change my mind, but I am
glad that I didn't, Ryan is a great guy and I love him, I am happy to be
married to him," Hayley said.
"Hayley, Nick is the type of guy who will not give up on something he
wants, when he wants something, he won't stop until he has it," Howie said.
"You guys have to do something about this, I have told him that I am happy
and I will never leave Ryan for anything," Hayley said.
"We might have to find another advertising company to go through to promote
our stuff," Kevin said.
"Guys, I'm sorry, if he doesn't give this up, you guys might not have a
choice but to go through another company," Hayley said.
"It's not your fault, Hayley, it's Nick's fault, he can't get it through
his head that you are not available," Brian said.
Two weeks later, Hayley was back to work. She was sitting at her desk when
Nick came in and closed the door.
"Nick, what are you doing here," Hayley said.
"We need to talk," Nick said.
"There is nothing to talk about, Nick, I told you that I am happy with
Ryan, there is nothing you can do to make me leave him," Hayley said. He
came over to her and leaned down and looked at her.
"Hayley, you could be happier with me, how do you know he isn't seeing
anyone behind your back," Nick said.
"I know he isn't because he would be disowned if he became unfaithful and
he loves his family too much to have that happen," Hayley said. She got up
and went over to the file cabinet. She turned and Nick got close to her and
pressed her against the cabinets and kissed her hard. She pushed him away.
"Get out, Nick," Hayley said.
"You felt something, Hayley," Nick said.
"It wasn't what you wanted, Nick, it made me feel sick to my stomach, I
will not cheat on my husband, give it up and move on and leave me alone!"
Hayley said. He came over to her and kissed her again and didn't let her go.
She tried to pull away but he wouldn't let her. She gave into the kiss and
he sat her on her desk and they kissed deeply.

Chapter 5

Hayley sat in her office the next day thinking about the day before. Brian
came in and closed the door.
"Thanks for coming down here, Brian, I didn't know who else to talk to
about this," Hayley said.
"It sounded urgent, Hayley, what's wrong," Brian said.
"I suppose you hadn't talked to Nick yet?" Hayley asked.
"No, not since the day before yesterday," Brian said.
"He came to my office yesterday, he came onto me," Hayley said.
"Hayley, what happened," Brian said.
"He kissed me, he had me pinned against the file cabinets and he kissed me
hard, I pulled away and told him to leave, he came over and kissed me again,
he wouldn't let me go, I gave in and he sat me on the desk," Hayley said.
"Is that all?" Brian asked.
"No, that's not, Brian, Nick and I had sex, hot, wild sex, on my desk,"
Hayley said.
"Hayley, you are married," Brian said.
"I know, if Ryan finds out, he'll leave me and I couldn't bear it, I don't
know what was wrong with me, I don't know why I did it, Brian, you have to
help me, Nick will think I will leave Ryan for him, he thinks that just
because he and I had sex, it will be the end of my marriage and he will have
me, you have to talk to him for me, tell him that I can't leave my husband,"
Hayley said. Brian looked at her.
"I will try, Hayley, but it might be best if you tell him yourself," Brian
said. Hayley nodded slowly. Nick came in and saw them. Brian left. Hayley
sat at her desk.
"About yesterday," Nick said.
"Never happened," Hayley said.
"You don't mean that," Nick said.
"Nick, I am a married woman, I don't know why I did it, but it will never
happen again, if you think I'm going to give up my marriage to be with you,
think again, what happened yesterday was a mistake, a mistake that will
never happen again, do you understand," Hayley said.
"Yeah, I do, goodbye, Hayley," Nick said. He walked out the door. Hayley
sat there thinking about everything. Ryan came in and saw her.
"Hey honey, I have a meeting tonight so I'll be home late," Ryan said. He
kissed her on the cheek and went out the door.
That night, Hayley was at Cafe Russe with her parents. She was talking with
her father when she looked and saw something that made her heart drop. At a
table in the corner of the restaurant was her husband kissing another woman.
Her father followed her glaze and saw Ryan and the woman.
"Oh my god," Mr. Hardin said. He got up and went over to Ryan's table.
Hayley ran to the bathroom and leaned on the counter and cried. Mrs. Hardin
came into the bathroom and comforted her daughter.
"Oh god, Mama!" Hayley said hugged her mother. They walked out and Ryan
stood there. Hayley punched him. He landed on the floor holding his cheek
and he looked up at her.
"Our marriage is over," Hayley said pulling off her rings and throwing them
at him. She left with her parents and they took her to their house. She went
to her old room and collapsed on the bed and cried herself to sleep.

Chapter 6

Hayley laid in her old room and stared at the ceiling. It's been two days
since she saw Ryan with another woman. She heard that her father told Ryan's
father and they disowned Ryan. There was a knock at the door.
"Honey, Brian Littrell is here," Mrs. Hardin said. She got up and opened
the door and saw Brian. They hugged. He came in and she closed the door.
"Brian, thanks for coming," Hayley said.
"What's up," Brian said. She told him the whole story.
"I don't know what to do, Brian, I know I want to divorce Ryan," Hayley
said. Brian looked at her.
"Go through with the divorce, come clean with your affair, but it's him who
will lose because you had one time and Nick will vouch for that, Ryan had an
affair for two years, it's clear who will win, you will, I know it," Brian
said. Hayley nodded.
"Can you talk to Nick for me?" Hayley asked.
"Yes, I will talk to Nick," Brian said.
"Thank you," Hayley said.
The next day, Hayley went to work and saw Nick sitting in her office and he
wasn't alone.
"What's going on?" Hayley asked.
"Hayley, this is Frank, my lawyer, he will help you with the divorce," Nick
said.
"Hello Hayley, if you will tell me everything, I will get the ball rolling
for your divorce," Frank said. Greg came in and handed Hayley some papers.
She read them and put them down.
"It won't be necessary, seems that Ryan went to the Dominican Republic and
got a quickie divorce, he is on his way to Las Vegas to marry again," Hayley
said.
"Thanks for coming, Frank," Nick said. Frank left. Hayley sat there.
"It's like he didn't even love me, how could he hurt me like this, why did
I marry him," Hayley said.
"I told you not to marry him," Nick said. Hayley looked at him.
"I didn't know this would happen," Hayley said.
"You could have not married him and save the heartache," Nick said.
"I still love him, god I hate him but I still love him," Hayley said.
"I gotta go, I have to go pick up my girlfriend," Nick said as he went out
the door. Hayley sat back. AJ came in.
"AJ, who is Nick dating?" Hayley asked.
"Paris Hilton," AJ said.
"So he's over me?" Hayley asked.
"Yeah," AJ said.
"How's everything with you?" Hayley said.
"Fine, me and Amanda got back together, I'm finally ready to commit," AJ
said.
"That's good," Hayley said. They talked for awhile and he left. Hayley
looked out the window and wondered what she would do from now on.

Chapter 7

Two years went by. Nick and Paris were still together and the hottest couple in the world. Hayley went to work and was sitting at her desk when Paris came in. Hayley looked at her.

       "Hi Paris," Hayley said.

       "Hi," Paris said.

       "What brings you by?" Hayley asked.

       "I met someone else, someone I fell hard for, I broke up with Nick, he's hurting real bad, I think he needs a friend," Paris said.

       "He's got the guys to turn to," Hayley said.

       "I think he needs you, I know how much he wanted you before, I think he still does," Paris said.

       "Paris, I'm focused on my work, okay, I don't have time for relationships anymore, I'm fine alone," Hayley said.

       "He is hurting deeply, Hayley, I think he needs you," Paris said.

       "Paris, I said I'm not interested of being Nick's rebound or in a relationship of any kind right now," Hayley said.

       "Paris, Nick's looking for you, he said you are late for dinner," Brian said coming in. Paris looked at Hayley. She ran out the door.

       "Brian, did they really break up?" Hayley asked.

       "No," Brian said.

       "I knew it, he's trying to hurt me because I hurt him by not being with him," Hayley said.

       "Don't worry about it, don't fall for it, anyways, Leighanne and I are wondering if you could watch Baylee tonight while we go out to dinner, Leighanne and I need alone time," Brian said.

       "Sure, I am his godmother after all, I adore the little guy," Hayley said.

       "And he adores you," Brian said.

       "I'll be there," Hayley said.

       "Okay, see you at seven," Brian said. He went out the door. Hayley finished her work and headed home to shower and relax before heading over to Brian's to baby-sit.

Chapter 8

Hayley was sitting with Baylee watching a movie when the front door opened
and closed.
"Brian, Leigh!" Nick said. He came into the living room and saw Hayley and
froze.
"Hello, Nickolas, Brian and Leighanne went out to dinner," Hayley said.
"When will they be back," Nick said.
"Late tonight," Hayley said.
"Oh," Nick said.
"Your girlfriend came to see me today, saying that you needed me because
you two broke up, Brian came in and told me the truth," Hayley said.
"Oh," Nick said.
"You are an idiot, trying to make a fool out of me, trying to get back at
me for not being with you, why couldn't you understand at the time that I
couldn't be with you, I was engaged at the time and didn't know that Ryan
was cheating on me, okay, you know what, after what you did, any chance of
being with me is totally gone," Hayley said. Nick glared at her and walked
out the door.
Two hours later, Baylee was in bed and Brian and Leighanne returned home.
"How did it go?" Brian asked.
"Fine," Hayley said. Leighanne went upstairs.
"Nick showed up at the restaurant with Paris, they had dinner and talked to
us and Nick and Paris informed us that they were calling it quits," Brian
said.
"He was here looking for you, he didn't say much," Hayley said.
"He was planning to call it quits with Paris," Brian said.
"Well, any chance he had with me is gone," Hayley said.
"Hayley," Brian said.
"I have to go, goodnight, Brian," Hayley said. She left and went home. She
walked up to her door and unlocked the door and opened the door and she was
grabbed from behind and a hand covered her mouth and she was pushed into her house and the door shut and locked. She was turned and pushed against the
wall and she looked up and saw Nick staring at her. He held her arms down
and held her against the wall to where she couldn't move. She was stuck and
she didn't know what he was going to do.

Chapter 9

Hayley woke up and saw Nick gone and she knew he was gone. She laid there
thinking of last night. She sat up realizing that what happened last night
was wrong and she got up and got dressed and went to Brian's. She rang the
doorbell and Brian opened the door and saw her. She went in and looked
around.
"Is Nick here?" Hayley asked.
"No, why?" Brian said.
"He was at my house last night when I went home, he grabbed me and pushed
me into the house and locked the door and held me against the wall, Brian, I
think Nick raped me," Hayley said.
"You think?" Brian asked.
"Yeah," Hayley said.
"Hayley, Nick was just here, he admitted that he did rape you," Brian said.
"Why did this happen to me?" Hayley said.
"I don't know, he feels really torn up about it," Brian said.
"Well, he should, rape isn't a good thing," Hayley said.
"No, it isn't a good thing," Brian said. Hayley went to her office and
closed and locked the door and looked around and she sat down and looked out the window. There was a knock at the door. She didn't move. She got up and looked out and saw Nick standing there. She moved away and sat on the couch in her office and prayed he went away. He knocked again. She got up and opened the door and glared at him.
"I just wanted to apologize for what I did," Nick said.
"Not accepted, you raped me, Nickolas, and you will pay," Hayley said as
she closed the door. She sat down and went through her papers and found a
way to make Nick pay for what she did. She smiled and looked out the window.

Chapter 10

Three weeks later, Hayley was sitting in her office when Nick came into her office and glared at her.

       "I had angry fans show up on my doorstep, why is that?" Nick asked.

       "I have no idea," Hayley said.

       "You did this, you are trying to get back at me for what I did, look, I said I was sorry, okay, I feel alot of guilt and I want to make things right again," Nick said.

       "You think you can just rape me and expect everything to be like they were before, think again, Nickolas, you raped me, okay, you took me against my will and I told you that you will pay for what you did," Hayley said.

       "I wanted you, okay, I had to have you, I’m not proud of how I did it, okay, I feel guilty, I want to go back in time to change everything, but I can't, okay!" Nick said. He looked out the window.

       "You can't change things, Nick, you ruin any chance of being with me," Hayley said.

       "I am willing to do anything to make it up to you," Nick said.

       "Why are you doing this?" Hayley asked. Nick came over to her and gently took her hands.

       "I want to make things right, I am deeply sorry for hurting you, it hurts me that I hurt you and I hate that, I want to make you happy again, I want to be with you, please give me a chance to make everything up to you," Nick said.

       "All right, you have one chance, but if you mess it up, no more, you understand?" Hayley said.

       "I understand," Nick said.

       "Come back around seven, I'll order Chinese food," Hayley said.

       "Okay, I'll see you then," Nick said. He went out the door. She sat down and looked out the window. She hoped that she was doing the right thing.

 

Chapter 11

 

Hayley sat in her office. It was eight and Nick hasn't shown up. She got her stuff together and grabbed the food and locked up her office and went downstairs and locked up the building and got into her car and drove off. She went home and went inside and locked up and put the food in the fridge and called Brian.

       "Hello," Brian said.

       "Hey B," Hayley said.

       "Hey girl, how are you," Brian said.

       "I feel like a fool, Nick came to see me today and he wanted to make things right, so I said for him to come back at seven and eat Chinese food and talk, well, seven came and went and no Nick, I waited until eight, I gave up and came home," Hayley said.

       "Damn him, how could he do that to you, I knew he wanted to make things right, I didn't think he would mess up like this," Brian said.

       "Well, he did, Brian, that was his chance and he blew it," Hayley said.

       "Yeah, he did blow it," Brian said. Hayley heard her other line beep.

       "I have another call, Brian, I'll talk to you later," Hayley said.

       "Take care, sweetie," Brian said. Hayley switched over.

       "Hello," Hayley said.

       "Hey, it's me, don't hang up, I can explain, I did show up but you were gone," Nick said.

       "I waited for an hour, Nickolas," Hayley said.

       "I'm sorry, okay, I had a family emergency," Nick said.

       "What kind?" Hayley asked.

       "My mother was arrested for assaulting my dad's girlfriend," Nick said.

       "Are you telling me the truth?" Hayley asked.

       "Yeah, I wouldn't lie about something like that," Nick said.

       "Chinese food at my house if you want it," Hayley said.

       "I'll be there," Nick said. She hung up. She called Brian back and told him the story.

       "This has to be the last chance for him, Hayley," Brian said.

       "It is, who would lie about their mother being arrested?" Hayley said.

       "Not Nick, that's for sure, just be careful, okay, take things slow," Brian said. Hayley said.

       "I will, don't worry, bye," Hayley said. There was a knock at the door. Hayley opened the door and saw Nick standing there. She let him in and closed the door. She got out the Chinese food and started warming up the food.

 

Chapter 12

 

       "What made you give me another chance?" Nick asked.

       "I knew you wouldn't leave me alone until I did," Hayley said.

       "So you do have feelings for me," Nick said.

       "Ever since you first kissed me," Hayley said.

       "Why didn't you tell me?" Nick asked.

       "I was engaged, then," Hayley said.

       "Yeah, you were," Nick said.

       "Oh god, Nick, I should have listened to you, I should have just left and not married him," Hayley said.

       "Hey, you loved him, you didn't know what he was doing to you, plus, you were doing it for your father," Nick said.

       "If I listened to you, I wouldn't have married him and gotten hurt, I told my dad everything and he said that I should have left and been with you if I could tell what was going to happen in the future," Hayley said.

       "Your dad knows about me," Nick said.

       "Yeah, he said that he hopes we get together and be happy," Hayley said.

       "I want that," Nick said.

       "What?" Hayley asked.

       "Us, together, happy," Nick said.

       "Let's take it one day at a time," Hayley said.

       "I can do that, I just want to be with you, Hayley," Nick said. He leaned over and kissed her lips softly. She got up and sat in his lap and kissed him again. He cupped her cheek and deepened the kiss. She pulled back and looked at him and got up and pulled him up and led him up to her bedroom and closed the door. She stood close to him and looked at him.

       "Make me yours, Nick," Hayley said. He picked her up and laid her on the bed and they removed each other's clothes and he gently and slowly made love to her. He pulled her close and held her close.

 

Chapter 13

 

(Author's note: I am going to have this story go a different way. I made it look like it was a dream with no point of origin.)

 

Hayley woke up and looked around and saw she was in her living room. Ryan came downstairs.

       "Hi baby," Ryan said. She looked and saw her engagement ring. She looked at him.

       "Hi," Hayley said.

       "Are you okay?" Ryan asked.

       "Yeah," Hayley said. The doorbell rang. Ryan opened the door.

       "Hey Brian, come on in," Ryan said.

       "Thanks," Brian said coming in. Ryan hugged Hayley and went out the door. Brian sat down. Hayley told him everything.

       "Hayley, it was a dream," Brian said.

       "I need to know if it's true, I know you said it was a dream, but it seemed so real, have Nick and I done anything bad?" Hayley asked.

       "No, you haven't, Nick would have told me, you would have told me, you two are friends," Brian said.

       "Nick wasn't trying to get me?" Hayley asked.

       "No, he hasn't, he's dating Paris Hilton," Brian said.

       "She'll hurt him, I know it," Hayley said. The phone rang.

       "Hello," Hayley said.

       "Hi, my name is Jessica, I have been seeing your fiancée for almost two years now, he recently told me that he had to end things because he was marrying you, I just wanted to tell you what he has been doing, he has been sleeping with me for almost two years," the woman said on the other line.

       "Thank you," Hayley said. She hung up the phone. She looked at Brian.

       "What is it," Brian said.

       "It's true, only it was one woman, her name is Jessica, he dumped her because of me, he has been sleeping with her for almost two years," Hayley said. She covered her face and cried.

       "Oh man, Hayley," Brian said.

       "How could he do this to me!" Hayley said. Brian hugged her. The door opened and Ryan came in.

       "I forgot there were no classes today," Ryan said.

       "You bastard!" Hayley said going over to him and slapping him.

       "What did I do?" Ryan asked.

       "I know about Jessica, she called here and told me everything, how could you do this to me!" Hayley said.

       "Hayley," Ryan said.

       "Get out, we are so over!" Hayley said.

       "If you let me explain," Ryan said.

       "Jessica told me enough, get your stuff and get out, I'm going for a walk, you best be gone by the time I get back or I will call your parents and tell them what I know," Hayley said. She went out the door with Brian behind her.

 

Chapter 14

 

Three weeks later, Hayley was in her office. There was a knock at the door. She looked up and saw her mother standing there.

       "Hi honey, I came to check on things for your father," Mrs. Hardin said.

       "Everything is running smoothly," Hayley said.

       "How about you, your father was disappointed that you called off your engagement to Ryan," Mrs. Hardin said.

       "Mama, promise you won't say anything to anyone," Hayley said.

       "I promise, baby, what is it?" Mrs. Hardin said.

       "Ryan has been sleeping with another woman for the past two years," Hayley said.

       "How dare he do that to my daughter!" Mrs. Hardin said.

       "Mama, you know what will happen if Daddy finds out, he'll tell Ryan's father and Ryan will be disowned," Hayley said.

       "Honey, he has a right to know, no more protecting Ryan, he hurt you deeply, it's time for revenge," Mrs. Hardin said.

       "You're right," Hayley said. Mrs. Hardin hugged her and left. Brian came in and Hayley looked at him.

       "My mother is going to tell my father everything, Ryan will be disowned by his family," Hayley said.

       "He deserves it after what he has done to you," Brian said.

       "I know," Hayley said.

       "Nick broke up with Paris, things weren't working out," Brian said.

       "Is he okay?" Hayley asked.

       "He wants to see you," Brian said.

       "I'll go after I get done here," Hayley said.

That night, she went to Nick's house. She rang the doorbell. The door opened and saw Paris standing there.

       "Hi Hayley," Paris said.

       "Uh, hi," Hayley said. Paris stood aside to let her in. Hayley went in.

       "What brings you by?" Paris said.

       "Brian said that Nick wanted to see me," Hayley said. Nick came into the hallway from the kitchen.

       "Hayley, thanks for coming, let's go out back," Nick said.

       "Brian said you and Paris broke up," Hayley said.

       "We did, she was just getting her stuff that she left over here," Nick said. Hayley looked at Paris who nodded. Hayley followed Nick out back.

       "So what did you want to see me about?" Hayley asked.

       "Brian told me about what Ryan did to you, how do you get past the pain of all this?" Nick said.

       "Well, take it one day at a time, that's all I did," Hayley said.

       "The other reason for me asking if you could come over is I was wondering if you would like to hang out sometime?" Nick asked.

       "Sure," Hayley said.

       "We are in the same boat, Hayley, both single and alone, and we both got hurt by the ones who was suppose to love us," Nick said.

       "Yeah, I know," Hayley said.

       "Let's get together tomorrow to hang out, maybe go out on my boat for a picnic," Nick said.

       "Okay, I'll see you tomorrow," Hayley said. She left and went home.

 

Chapter 15

 

The next day, Hayley and Nick were out on his boat. They talked and ate lunch. An hour later, one thing led to another and they were making love on the deck of the boat. Nick drove the boat back to the dock by his house. They got off the boat and she saw Paris coming towards them. She and Nick hugged. Hayley looked at them.

       "You two never broke up, did you," Hayley said.

       "Well, not really," Nick said.

       "I should have known," Hayley said.

       "Hayley, if you let us explain," Paris said.

       "I don't think so!" Hayley said. She ran up to her car and got in and went home and went to her room and collapsed on her bed and cried. The doorbell rang. She went down and opened the door and saw Brian standing there. He came in and she closed the door and told him everything. He hugged her close and sat her down on the couch.

       "I can never trust men again, well, except you, Kevin, AJ, and Howie, but not Nick, not after today, he used me, for sex!" Hayley said.

       "Hayley, I think I know what is going on," Brian said.

       "What," Hayley said.

       "Nick wanted Paris to realize what she was missing, to get her jealous enough to want him back, she broke up with him over the phone," Brian said.

       "I don't care, Brian, he blew it with me, I want nothing to do with him ever again!" Hayley said.

       "So that means no more helping us sell our stuff," Brian said.

       "Your stuff, but not Nick's," Hayley said.

       "Hayley, we are a group, it's all of us, or none of us," Brian said.

       "Don't make me do this," Hayley said.

       "Hayley, Nick is part of the group, if you don't sell his stuff or advertise it, then we won't have a choice but to remove ourselves as your clients," Brian said. Hayley said.

       "Brian, I'm going to let someone else take over the BSB account, but I can't deal with Nick anymore," Hayley said.

       "I understand that, you know I'm here for you," Brian said.

       "Thanks," Hayley said. Brian hugged her.

       "I better go, Leighanne has a doctor's appointment," Brian said.

       "How is she doing?" Hayley said.

       "Fine, she wants you to be godmother to the baby," Brian said.

       "Tell her I'll be honored," Hayley said. Brian kissed her forehead and went out the door. Hayley locked up and went upstairs and laid down and went to sleep.

 

Chapter 16

 

Three months went by. Leighanne had a baby boy. Hayley was spending alot of time with them. She was at the house when Brian came in with Nick behind him. Nick saw Hayley holding the baby and he froze. She looked up and saw him. Brian sat down.

       "Where's Leigh?" Brian asked.

       "Taking a nap, she needed it, I could tell, Baylee is being an angel," Hayley said.

       "Brian, I'm going to go," Nick said.

       "Nick, hold up, Hayley, Kevin is pissed," Brian said.

       "Why," Hayley said.

       "Sales of our stuff is dropping, none of it is selling because the guy you gave the account to isn't doing anything," Brian said.

       "Oh great, I better go get this straightened out," Hayley said handing the baby to Brian and grabbing her purse and went to the office and went to Matt's office. He looked up and saw her.

       "Ms. Hardin, what can I do for you?" Matt asked.

       "I want the Backstreet Boys account back, you aren't doing anything for them," Hayley said.

       "I was going to," Matt said.

       "Three months after you are given the account, I'm sorry, but that's not how it works here, we are here to make clients happy, the Backstreet Boys aren't happy," Hayley said. Matt got up and closed the door and locked it and shut the shades and turned on the light.

       "I don't care," Matt said grabbing her and pushing her against the wall.

Nick arrived at Brock Advertising looking for Hayley. He heard a scream and saw an office closed up and ran to it and kicked the door in and saw a guy on top of Hayley, raping her. He pulled the guy off and knocked him out and called the police. He helped Hayley up and got her dressed and police came and arrested Matt and got their statements and left. Nick looked at Hayley.

       "You ok?" Nick asked.

       "Thank you for coming in when you did," Hayley said.

       "No one should do that to you what he did," Nick said.

       "You did hurt me," Hayley said.

       "I know but not that way, I didn't rape you, I made love to you," Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

       "Made love?" Hayley said.

       "After you left that day, I told Paris that I fell in love with you, that's why all the rumors about me abusing her surfaced, she was trying to ruin my reputation, she was hurt because I wouldn't take her back," Nick said.

       "I can't forget what you did, Nick, I need time to think about everything," Hayley said.

       "I'll give you time, I really want us to give it a try," Nick said. He went out the door.

 

Chapter 17

 

Hayley was in her office. She got word that Matt was released on bail

and told the guys and they got bodyguards for her. She was writing when she

heard her door close and lock. She looked up and saw Matt standing

there.  She called security but he grabbed the phone and disconnected the

phone. He grabbed her and threw her against the wall and he raped and beat her. He ran from the office. Kelly ran in and saw Hayley on the floor unconscious. She reconnected Hayley's phone and called 911. Greg came in and saw Hayley.  He looked at Kelly as she got off the phone.

       "How did this happen! She was suppose to be protected! You were

suppose to be watching for Matt!" Greg yelled.

       "I was at lunch, she said she would be fine, the bodyguards were

here!" Kelly said.

       "Well, they weren't here now, where did they go!" Greg said.

       "I don't know, I came back and saw her door open and the bodyguards

gone," Kelly said. The paramedics arrived and put Hayley on a stretcher and took her to the hospital. Kelly rode with her. They got to the hospital.  Kelly called Brian and told him to come to the hospital. Ten minutes later, Brian came in with Nick, Kevin, Howie, and AJ behind him.

       "What happened, Kelly," Brian said.

       "Matt raped and beat Hayley, I don't know where the bodyguards were, she sent me to lunch, the bodyguards were there when I left, but when I

came back, they were gone and the door was open so I went in and saw her unconscious on the floor," Kelly said.

       "Damn them! They were suppose to be protecting her!" Kevin said.

       "I'll find out what happened," Howie said. He went off to call the bodyguards.

       "How is she?" Nick asked.

       "I don't know yet," Kelly said. The doctor came out.

       "I'm Dr. Davis,  are you all here for Hayley Hardin," he said.

       "Yes," Kelly said.

       "I'm here, too, I'm Hayley's mother," Mrs. Hardin said coming up to the group.

       "Mrs. Hardin, your daughter has been beaten badly, she hasn't woke up yet, she was also raped," Dr. Davis said.

       "Who did this!" Mrs. Hardin said.

       "Matt Peterson, Mrs. Hardin," Kelly said. She told her everything.

       "Why was he let near her!" Mrs. Hardin said.

       "Someone called the bodyguards pretending to be us," Howie said coming

back over to them.

       "Dammit!" Kevin said.

       "I will let you know more as soon as I'm finished examining her," Dr.

Davis said. He went back down the hall.

 

Chapter 18

 

Nick sat beside Hayley's bedside, holding her hand and watching her. She had bruises all over her arms, her face, and her legs. She had two broken ribs and a broken arm. Brian came in and leaned down next to Nick.

       "Nick, it's been three days, you need to go home and rest," Brian said.

       "I can't leave her, man, she is the one for me, I can't lose her," Nick said. He felt her squeeze his hand. He looked at her and saw her looking at him.

       "Hey," Nick said.

       "I heard what you said," Hayley said softly.

       "I meant it, every word," Nick said.

       "Hey girl, Nick has been here for three days, tell him to go home and rest," Brian said.

       "I don't want to leave  you, not until you leave the hospital," Nick said.

       "Did they catch Matt?" Hayley asked.

       "No, it's like he disappeared," Brian said.

       "Oh god, he's still out there, he could get me again, you guys could be in danger because he's after me," Hayley said.

       "Not unless we get him out of hiding if he is still in the area," Nick said.

       "What do you mean?" Hayley asked.

       "We are going to make it so you got into a car accident so he'll think he didn't do anything wrong or didn't hurt you like he thinks he did," Nick said.

       "Nick, it's lying," Hayley said.

       "If we want to catch him, got to do whatever we can to do it, the cops are in on it, they think it is a good idea," Nick said.

       "I hope it works, I can't go through this again, he might kill me next time if he gets ahold of me," Hayley said.

       "I won't let him touch you, no one will," Nick said.

       "I hope so," Hayley said.

       "Hayley, this is Billy, one of our bodyguards and he will not leave your side unless you tell him to, no one can make him leave, he is your bodyguard now, you are the only one who has the power to make me leave," Brian said.

       "Hi Billy," Hayley said.

       "I will not let anyone hurt you again, Hayley," Billy said.

       "See, you are in good hands, Hayley, Billy has kept me safe for a long time," Nick said. Hayley smiled and looked out the window.

 

Epilogue

 

Three months went by. The police caught Matt and put him in jail. After the trial, Hayley was free to live her life. She and Nick were getting along great. They were now living together and enjoying being together. They took it one day at a time and never did anything to hurt each other. Hayley never saw Ryan again. She heard from her father that he moved to California to become an actor. Her father met Nick and told her that she found the right guy for her. He treated Nick like a son. She knew everything was going to be okay. All the times she thought about running from her life were gone.
