Hayley was working at the mall at one of the shops called Sports Authority. She sat at the counter, bored out of her mind.  She heard voices and she looked up and saw Kevin and Nick of the Backstreet Boys. They were talking.

       "Kev, why are we here," Nick said.

       "I'm looking for someone, okay, I'm asking everyone at the mall," Kevin said.

       "Yeah, okay, but why am I here with you," Nick said.

       "You said you wanted to come," Kevin said.

       "I know, oh hi there," Nick said looking at Hayley.

       "Hi, can I help you guys," Hayley said.

       "Yes, I'm looking for someone," Kevin said.

       "I found someone," Nick said coming over and leaning on the counter, smiling at her. She smiled back.

       "Nick, it's not time to flirt with every girl you see," Kevin said.

       "Not every girl, Kev, just one, hi, I'm Nick," Nick said.

       "Hi, you are a hot guy," Hayley said.

       "And you are a hot girl," Nick said smiling at her.

       "You want something, don't you," Hayley said.

       "A date with you would work," Nick said.

       "I guess that could work, depending on the day and time," Hayley said smiling at him.

       "Friday night, seven," Nick said.

       "That would work, I work til five that day," Hayley said.

       "Cool, how about I pick you up from work and we'll go from here," Nick said.

       "That would work," Hayley said. Nick smiled.

       "Cool, it's a date," Nick said.

       "Now can I have a turn?" Kevin said.

       "She's already going out on a date with me," Nick said.

       "She didn't tell you her name, dufuss," Kevin said.

       "What is your name?" Nick asked.

       "Oh, sorry, my name is Hayley Hardin," Hayley said. Kevin and Nick looked at each other.

       "We don't have to look anymore," Kevin said.

       "What do you mean," Hayley said.

       "I was looking for you," Kevin said.

       "Me, why me?" Hayley asked.

       "You are my wife," Kevin said.

       "Huh?" Hayley asked.

       "I got this in the mail, and I took it to my lawyer, it's real," Kevin said handing her a paper. She looked at it and saw that it was a marriage license.

       "OMG," Hayley said in shock.

       "Yup," Kevin said. Nick walked out the door.

       "I guess the date is off," Hayley said.

       "I'll talk to him, okay," Kevin said.

       "Thanks," Hayley said. He went out the door to find Nick. He found Nick leaning against the wall.

       "I can't believe this, the girl I asked out is your wife," Nick said.

       "Nick, go out with her," Kevin said.

       "She's your wife, Kev," Nick said.

       "It's not a real marriage, not yet, she and I don't know each other, got to get to know each other before it's a real marriage, you asked her out, she wants to go out with you, go for it, little bro," Kevin said.

       "Are you sure?" Nick asked.

       "Nick, go for it," Kevin said. Nick went back into the store and saw Hayley. She looked up and saw him.

       "Are we still on for Friday night?" Hayley asked.

       "Yes, Kevin said it was okay," Nick said.

       "Cool," Hayley said.

       "See you Friday," Nick said.

       "Yup," Hayley said. Nick smiled and went out the door. Hayley smiled and sat there in shock. She was married to Kevin and had a date with Nick.

Chapter 2

Friday night, Nick arrived at Sports Authority and saw Hayley there. He went in and walked up to the counter.

       "Hi," Nick said.

       "Hi Nick, let me change and we'll go," Hayley said. She grabbed her bag and went in the back and closed the door. Nick stood there waiting. He heard the door open and Hayley came out.

       "I'm ready," Hayley said. Nick looked at her.

       "You look beautiful," Nick said.

       "Thank you, you look hot and sexy," Hayley said. Nick grinned.

       "Only for you," Nick said. They left and went to the docks where Nick had his boat parked. They got on and went out on his boat. Nick stopped a half hour later. He came down below and got out some stuff from the fridge.

       "I got sandwiche’s, and chips, and pop, is that okay," Nick said.

       "It's fine," Hayley said. He got the food out and they ate and talked. After they were done eating, Hayley went out and noticed rain clouds. Nick came up.

       "Nick, it looks like rain," Hayley said. Nick felt the wind.

       "I think it's the beginning of a tropical storm," Nick said. He headed back to shore and the workers on the dock got his boat out of the water and moved it inland. Nick and Hayley got into Nick's truck and he took off down the coast.

       "The workers said it's moving northeast, so my place is out of the path," Nick said.

       "Okay, I hate storms," Hayley said. He drove to his house and they went inside.

       "Looks like some of it might be here, but not the worse," Nick said. Lightning flashed and Hayley jumped.

       "You okay," Nick said.

       "I hate storms, they scare me," Hayley said.

       "It'll be okay," Nick said. Hayley hugged him. Lightning flashed and she buried her face into his chest. He held her close. He checked the news.

       "Shit, it's coming this way, it changed directions!" Nick said.

       "Oh god," Hayley said.

       "There might be flooding, since I love to live by the ocean, it's going to be bad," Nick said. He went out and boarded up the windows and doors. He came back in and locked up.

       "Hopefully we'll be okay," Nick said. The power went out.

       "Oh god, I hate the dark!" Hayley said.

       "So do I, my flashlight is around here somewhere," Nick said. Hayley heard a crash.

       "Dammit!" Nick said.

       "What happened," Hayley said.

       "I cut my hand on something," Nick said. He found a flashlight and looked at his hand.

       "Oh god," Nick said.

       "Come on," Hayley said. They made their way into the bathroom and Nick got out his first aid kit and Hayley got out bandages. She took his hand and rinsed it off and put ointment on the cut and bandaged his hand. She put the first aid kit away. She turned and saw Nick looking at her.

       "Thank you," Nick said.

       "You're welcome," Hayley said. They just stared at each other.

That night, Hayley was in the guest bedroom that Nick made up for her. She laid there hiding under the covers. She heard thunder and shrieked. She heard the door open.

       "Hayley," Nick said. Hayley pushed the covers off and got up and went to him. He hugged her close.

       "This is scaring me, Nick, the thunder, the lightning, it's so creepy," Hayley said.  They heard someone knocking on the front door. Nick went downstairs and opened the door and saw Kevin.

       "Hey, man, what are you doing out in this weather," Nick said as Kevin came in.

       "I was worried about you guys, everything okay," Kevin said. Lightning flashed and they heard a shriek. Hayley ran downstairs and into Nick's arms.

       "Hayley is scared of storms, every time lightning flashe’s, she jumps," Nick said as Hayley buried her face into Nick's chest.

       "Well, I just came to check up on you guys and I went to the courthouse up in Orlando, I ended the marriage, Hayley, you are single now," Kevin said.

       "Oh, that's good, I guess," Hayley said.

       "And you can date anyone you want, like Nick here," Kevin said.

       "Yeah, I definitely want to go on more dates with you, Hayley," Nick said. Hayley looked up at him.

       "Really?" Hayley said.

       "Yeah," Nick said.

       "It's clear up at Orlando, Hayley, if you want to go home," Kevin said. Hayley looked at him and looked at Nick.

       "I live in Tampa," Hayley said.

       "Tampa?" Nick asked.

       "Yeah, in an apartment, I tried to find an apartment in Orlando but the rent was too high, I went to Tampa and found one just right," Hayley said.

       "It's clear in Tampa, too," Kevin said.

       "Do you want to go home," Nick said.

       "Yeah, I do, can we do something tomorrow, I'm off tomorrow," Hayley said.

       "Sure," Nick said.

       "Kev, since you are taking me home, I'll give you my address to give to Nick or you can tell him where the apartment is," Hayley said.

       "Okay," Kevin said. Hayley hugged Nick and left with Kevin.

Chapter 3

Kevin drove to Tampa and Hayley told him where to go. She looked at him.

       Thanks, Kevin, be sure to tell Nick where I live, okay, Hayley said getting out.

       I will, take care, Kevin said. He drove off after she made it in the door. Hayley walked to her apartment and she was pushed against the wall and she saw her ex-boyfriend, Adam.

       What are you doing here, I have a restraining order against you! Hayley said.

       You are mine, Hayley, mine, no one elses! Adam said pushing her into her apartment and slammed the door and pulled her into her bedroom and pushed her on the bed and got on top of her. She fought him but he held her down and slapped her. He ripped her clothes off and pulled his off and he began raping her. After he was done, he got up and got dressed and left. She curled up in a ball and cried. She got up and picked up the phone and dialed a number she saw at Nicks house.

       Hello, Brian said.

       Is this Brian? Hayley asked.

       Yes, whos this, Brian said.

       Um, Im not sure Kevin told you, Im Hayley, Hayley said.

       The girl who was his wife? Brian asked.

       Yes, the marriage is over now, he found a way to end it, I was at Nicks house today, Nick and I are sort of dating now, we had a date yesterday but there was a tropical storm, Hayley said.

       Yeah, Nick just called and told me everything, he has really got the hots for you, Brian said.

       Yeah, he is a sweet guy, and I know its too early but I have a feeling that he’s the one for me, I am going to see him tomorrow but something happened and I need to see him now, do you have his number? Hayley asked.

       Ill call him and tell him to come up there, Brian said.

       Tell him to call Kevin because Kevin brought me home and Nick doesn’t know where I live, Hayley said.

       Okay, I will, bye Hayley, Brian said.

       Bye, Hayley said. She hung up and wrapped a blanket around her and cried.

Two hours later, there was a knock at the door. She slowly got up.

       Hayley, its Nick, Nick said. She wrapped the blanket tightly around her and went and opened the door and saw him. He came in and closed the door.

       Thank god you are here, Hayley said.

       What happened, Nick said.

       My ex was here, when I got home, Hayley said.

       Oh, Nick said.

       I have a restraining order against him, but he won’t stay away, Hayley said.

       Did you call the police, Nick said.

       I can’t prove he was here, Hayley said.

       What did he do to you, Nick said.

       He raped me, Hayley said. Nick looked at her face.

       Oh god, Nick said. She got up and went to her bedroom. She got some clothes and went in and took a shower. She got out and got dressed. She came out and sat down. Nick looked at her.

       How about moving down with me, Nick said.

       Nick, Hayley said.

       I don’t want him near you, if he’s going to hurt you, I don’t want him near you, Nick said.

       Are you sure, Hayley said.

       You have a mark on your face, I don’t want there to be another one, you have a beautiful face, Nick said gently stroking her cheek. She looked at him. He leaned down and kissed her softly. He pulled back.

       Sorry, I just wanted to kiss you, I have wanted to since I first saw you, Nick said.

       Its okay, Hayley said. She pulled him close and kissed him tenderly. The kiss deepened and they laid on the couch kissing.

       Be my girl, Hayley, Nick said.

       Yes, Hayley said.

       I will never hurt you, never, Nick said.

       I know you won’t, Hayley said. He kissed her neck.

       I want you, I’ve wanted you ever since I first met you, let me make love to you, Hayley, Nick said. She nodded and they pulled each other’s clothes off and made love. They laid there holding each other.

Chapter 4

Nick got up and got dressed as Hayley slept. He left a note and left. As the door closed, Hayley woke up. She looked around and saw Nick gone. She saw a piece of paper. She opened and read it.

Hayley, I’m sorry but we can’t see each other anymore. I just can’t do it. I’m sorry. Nick

Hayley laid there and she felt tears in her eyes. She got up and got dressed and started packing. She called and found a condo by the beach. Three days later, she was moved in and unpacking. She went to work and was sitting behind the counter when Kevin came into the store.

       Hayley, Kevin said.

       Hi, Hayley said.

       I went to your apartment and found out that you moved, Kevin said.

       Yeah, long story, Hayley said.

       I talked to Nick and he told me that he ended things with you, Kevin said.

       Yeah, its funny, he and I made love the night before and he asked me to be his girl, then the next morning, I wake up and he’s gone and I get a note, Hayley said.

       Damn him! Kevin said.

       What, Hayley said.

       I thought he changed, but its obvious he hasn’t, Hayley, Nick is a player, he would flirt to get a date, and then go on a date, and then once he sleeps with a girl, he leaves a note saying that he can’t see them anymore, he does this every time he meets a girl, the guys and I tried to stop him, Kevin said.

       Oh god, Hayley said.

       I can’t believe him, Kevin said.

       I fell in love with him, and it was all a lie, he doesn’t love me, Hayley said.

       He is going to get it, I’m going to find him, you take care, Kevin said. He went out the door.  He went to Nicks house and rang the doorbell. Nick opened the door and saw him.

       You are an asshole, Kevin said.

       You talked to Hayley, Nick said.

       Yeah, and now she has a broken heart, she knows what you are now, I thought you changed, Nick, but obviously not, I can’t believe you, she is a sweet girl and this is how you treat her, like she’s nothing to you, she has fallen for you and you use her for sex, Kevin said.

       Kevin, leave me alone, you don’t understand, Nick said.

       Tell me and maybe I will, Kevin said.

       I’m protecting my heart, Kevin, I don’t want to date anyone who wants me for what we do, I want someone who wants me for me, Nick said.

       She does! Kevin said.

       You don’t know that, Nick said.

       Nick, how do you know she wants you for being a Backstreet Boy, Kevin said.

       She would have told me no when I wanted to make love to her, Nick said.

       So you assume that since she wanted to make love so soon that you know she wants you for being a Backstreet Boy, didn’t it occur to you to ask her, Kevin said.

       Well, no, Nick said.

       Nick, you need to talk to her, she is in love with you and you hurt her deeply, Kevin said. He left. Nick stood there.  He went to the mall to the Sports Authority. He saw her sitting there. He hid from her view and stood there thinking of what to say and do. He went in and looked around for her. He went up and rang the bell and leaned on the counter and hung his head. He looked up and saw her standing there.

       What are you doing here, Hayley said coldly.

       Can we talk, Nick said.

       No, Hayley said.

       I want to explain why I did what I did, Nick said.

       No, please leave and never come near me again, Hayley said.

       Hayley, please, I know what I did was wrong, but I want to explain, I am sorry that I hurt you, Nick said. A girl came in and Nick looked at her and looked back at Hayley.

       Hi Hayley, who is this handsome fella, the girl said.

       This is Nick Carter, Jessie, Hayley said.

       Hi there, Jessie said. Nick didn’t look at her. He looked at Hayley.

       Hi, Nick said.

       I know I’m early, Hayley, but my car broke down this morning, and I didn’t have a way in and Tyler brought me on the way to work, and he couldn’t be late so I came in early, Jessie said.

       Its okay, I have to finish unpacking anyways, Hayley said clocking out. She walked past Nick and went to her car. A hand covered her hand.

       We need to talk, Nick said.

       No, we don’t, will you please leave me alone, Hayley said.

       No, I can’t, we have to talk about this, I know what I did was wrong but I want to fix this, Nick said.

       Forget it, Nick, I want you to leave me alone, you already broke my heart, what else is there, huh, Hayley said. He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her deeply. She pulled away.

       Nothing you do will make up for what you did, just stay away from me, okay, Hayley said. She got into her car and drove home. She went into her condo and sat down and closed her eyes.

Nick went to Kevin’s house. He rang the doorbell. Kevin opened the door and saw him.

       Well? Kevin asked. Nick shook his head.

       I messed up, she hates me, why am I so stupid, Nick said.

       You act before you think, Kevin said.

       I want to be with her, Kev, she is the one for me, Nick said.

       Then we got to work harder, Kevin said.

That night, the guys were at the venue for a concert they were doing for charity. Kevin and Brian invited Hayley to the concert. Brian found her and they were talking. He brought her backstage and she looked around and didn’t see Nick around.

       Where’s Nick, Hayley said.

       In his dressing room, he said he won’t come out until the show begins, Brian said.

       I’m going out to my seat, Hayley said. She went out and sat down. The guys came on and Hayley watched Nick. He was normal, entertaining the crowd, flirting with all the girls. Then he saw her and froze. Kevin and Brian got him moving and Nick went on to performing but stayed in front of her and he flirted with her. After the show, the guys were backstage in the showers. Hayley came backstage. Howie and AJ came out.

       You must be Hayley, AJ said kissing her hand.

       Yes, I am, Hayley said.

       If you and Nick are over, we could hook up, AJ said.

       I thought you were dating Amanda, Hayley said.

       Yeah, I am, thanks for the reminder, AJ said. They left. Kevin and Brian came out of the showers.

       Hey, Nicks still in there if you want to go on in, Brian said.

       Okay, Hayley said. She walked into the showers and saw Nick standing there letting the water flow over his body. She just stood there staring at him and his body. She went back out and saw Brian and Kevin.

       Can you keep everyone out of the showers? Hayley asked.

       Just pull the curtain there, Brian said. Hayley pulled in and walked towards Nick. She stripped off her clothes and stood behind him. She wrapped her arms around his waist from behind. He jumped a little.

       Hey, its just me, Hayley said softly. She moved around in front of him.

       Hayley, why are you in here, Nick said. She kissed his neck.

       I heard a rumor that you want me to be your girl, Hayley said as she kissed his jaw.

       Yeah, I do, Nick said.

       Well, here is your chance, make me yours, Hayley said.

       Here, now, with everyone out there, Nick said.

       Oh right, them, lets go, Hayley said. They got dressed and went to Nicks house. He picked her up and carried her up to his room and laid her on the bed after stripping off her clothes. He pulled his off and laid on top of her and they made love. Afterwards, they laid there holding each other.

       I do want to be with you, Hayley, you are the one for me, I know it, Nick said kissing her forehead.

       I’m yours, Nick, Hayley said. He smiled and kissed her deeply and they went to sleep holding each other close.

Chapter 6

Hayley snapped out of her daydream as she sat there behind the counter at work.

       Hi Hayley! Jessie said.

       Hi, I had the longest daydream, Hayley said.

       What about? Jessie said. Hayley told her everything.

       I must really be losing it, I mean, what is the odds of Kevin and Nick coming in here and Nick being interested in me, Hayley said. Jessie shrugged.

       Who knows, Jessie said.

       Anyways, got to go, see ya! Hayley said. She got her stuff and went to the food court.  She got some food and headed home. She went to her apartment and saw two guys sitting by her door. She went to the door and started to unlock it.

       Hey, are you Hayley? one of them asked.

       Yes, Hayley said as she looked at them. Her eyes widened and she recognized them. It was Kevin and Nick.

       I’m Kevin and this is Nick, um, can we come in, there is something we have to talk to you about, Kevin said.

       Uh, I guess, Hayley said. She opened the door and went in and they followed her. They sat down.

       The reason we are here is that I got this in the mail this morning, Kevin said handing her a paper. She took it and read it, and gasped.

       Oh god, Hayley said.

       You and I are married, Hayley, I don’t know how or why, Kevin said.

       I can’t believe this, this is real, Hayley said rubbing her face.

       What do you mean, Nick said. Hayley told them about her daydream. Nick and Kevin looked at each other.

       Maybe your daydreams predict the future in a way, Kevin said. Hayley looked at the marriage license.

       So, what do you suggest here, Hayley said.

       I’m an old fashioned guy so why not make a go at it, Kevin said. Hayley looked at him.

       You mean, be married, Hayley said.

       Yeah, Kevin said.

       We hardly know each other, Hayley said.

       We can get to know each other, Kevin said.

       I don’t know, Hayley said.

       We can do this, Hayley, Kevin said.

       If you say so, Hayley said.

Three weeks later, Hayley was living with Kevin. The guys came over and they had a barbecue. Nick was the only one there with Hayley while Brian and Kevin went to the store. AJ and Howie haven’t gotten there yet. Hayley and Nick were in the pool. They had gotten close the last couple of weeks and became good friends. She had a bit of a crush on him. They were chasing each other around the pool. They came to a stop when he cornered her.

       Okay, you got me again, Hayley said.

       Looks like it, Nick said. She looked at him. He looked at her. They leaned in and their lips met. He pulled back and looked at her. They kissed again. She wrapped her arms around his neck and held onto him as they kissed deeply. Their tongues were exploring each other’s mouths. They heard two car doors and the front door open and close.

       Anybody home! Nick heard AJ call. Nick broke away and got out.

       Out back, Bone, Nick said. Hayley got out just as AJ and Howie came out.

       Hey Kaos, AJ said.

       Hey Nick, Howie said.

       D, Bone, this is Hayley, Kevin’s wife, Nick said. AJ came over and took her hand and kissed the back of her hand.

       Its a pleasure to meet you, Hayley, AJ said.

       Nice to meet you, AJ, Hayley said.

       Are you a fan? AJ asked.

       Yeah, until I found out from Kevin that I was his wife, I still am, I mean, I have to be if I’m married to one, Hayley said.

       Its nice to meet you, Hayley, Kevin told us about you and we have a feeling that you will fit in our little family, Howie said.

       Welcome to the Backstreet Family, Hayley, AJ said.

       Thanks, Hayley said. She went inside to get a drink. Nick came in.

       We have to talk, Nick said.

       Nick, it can’t happen again, I’m married to Kevin, I can’t hurt him, he has been so sweet to me and caring, that is a first for me, Hayley said softly.

       What do you mean, Nick said. AJ and Howie came in.

       Id rather tell all of you together, about my past with guys, so you all know what might happen, Hayley said. Brian and Kevin came in with groceries.

       Um, Kev, Brian, I think we all need to sit down, Hayley has something she needs to tell us, Howie said. They went into the living room. Hayley put on a pair of shorts and stood by the fireplace. She looked at the five guys sitting there looking at her.

Chapter 7

The guys sat there looking at Hayley. She looked at her hands. She looked at them.

       Hayley, what is it, Kevin said.

       I have been in only one relationship, and it ended badly, my ex, he was abusive, the night I broke up with him, I ended up in the hospital, in a coma, I was in the coma for three weeks, the doctors said I wouldn’t wake up, but I did, he has tried to rape me but I have learned self defense and fought back, but that night, he wasn’t alone, his buddy helped him, they are still around, I have a restraining order against them, but so far, they haven’t come near me, but have called me and threatened me, I have changed my number since then, but they would call me at work lots of times, he wants me back but I don’t want to go back to him, he said if I don’t go back to him, hell hurt my family, I told him that I can’t be with him again, so he went to my parents house, and..he.., Hayley said as she started sobbing. She went to her purse and got out a newspaper and handed it to Kevin.

       Two people found dead in their home, John and Laura Hardin were found stabbed to death in their bedroom by their son, Brad Hardin, there are no suspects in custody and no signs of forced entry, there are no leads at the time, their daughter, Hayley, refused to talk to the press or anyone except her brother, Kevin read.

       He killed them, AJ said.

       Yeah, but there is no proof that he did, I figured it out when he said he would hurt my family, he did, Hayley said crying. Kevin got up and hugged her close as she cried.

       I have an idea, Nick said.

       What, Howie said.

       We get him off the streets, we get the proof, Nick said.

       How? Brian asked.

       Record him, on tape, Nick said.

       How, Howie said. Nick looked at Hayley.

       Hayley will have to face him, she can record everything, Nick said.

       No, he might hurt her, Kevin said.

       We will be hiding, Kev, we won’t be far, Nick said.

       No, I’m not letting her go near him, Kevin said.

       I have to face him, Kevin, I have to do it, Hayley said.

       Kevin, we have to do this, for Hayley, he might go after her brother next, Nick said.

       Nicks right, Hayley said.

Three days later, Hayley stood in the park with her hands in her pockets. She had the tape recorder ready. She saw two guys.

       Adam and Ryan, Hayley said as she pushed record.

       So you changed your mind, you want to be with me again, Adam said.

       That depends on what you have to tell me, I want you to be truthful to me, Adam, no lies, just the truth, then we will talk about being together, Hayley said.

       We can do that, Ryan said.

       Yeah, Adam said.

       I can’t forget what you did to me, you were abusive, you sent me to the hospital, I was in a coma for three weeks, Hayley said.

       I’m sorry about that, I was out of my mind, Adam said.

       I figured out something else, Adam, did you kill my parents? Hayley asked.

       I did, Hayley, not Adam, Adam couldn’t do it, so I did, Ryan said. Hayley looked at them.

       They were my family, Ryan, that destroyed me, I thought Adam killed them but it was you, I can’t understand why would you would do this, to me, I never did anything to you, I tried to be your friend, and this is how you repay me, Hayley said. Adam saw her hand.

       What’s this ring? Adam said.

       I’m married now, to a great guy who hasn’t hurt me, Hayley said. Adam looked at her.

       You tricked me, you got us out here to tell you the truth and this is how it goes, you are married! Adam said.

       Adam Martin, Ryan Harris, you two are under arrest for murder and assault, Officer Smith said coming up behind them.

       How could you do this to me, I loved you! Adam said as the cops put handcuffs on them and led them to the cars. Officer Smith came over. Hayley handed him the tape.

       Thank you for helping us get your parents killer, Officer Smith said.

       It helped me deal with my parents death, its finally closure, Hayley said as Kevin, Nick, Howie, AJ and Brian came up to her. Officer Smith shook their hands and left. Hayley looked at them.

       You okay, Kevin said.

       Yeah, I’m fine now, I can put the past behind me, Hayley said. Kevin smiled and hugged her.  They went back to Kevin’s house.  Kevin started up the grill. Hayley sat down in a lounge chair. Nick sat down beside her.

       Nick, thank you for the idea, it really helped and it was a good idea, Hayley said.

       You’re welcome, Nick said smiling at her. He took her hand and kissed it. He let go of her hand and stretched. He saw Kevin looking at him and shaking his head angrily.

       I think Kevin’s mad, Hayley said. She went inside. Kevin went in after her.

       Are you happy, Kevin said.

       What, Hayley said.

       Are you happy being my wife? Kevin asked.

       Yeah, Hayley said.

       Then stay away from Nick, Kevin said.

       What, Kevin, you’re being ridiculous, Hayley said.

       I saw him kiss your hand, Kevin said.

       So, doesn’t mean anything, Hayley said.

       Kevin, we aren’t that quite together, we don’t love each other, we never slept together, its like we are just friends in a marriage, Hayley said. He kissed her deeply.

       Yes, Kevin said.

       I have fallen for you, Hayley said. They kissed again. They didn’t notice Nick standing there watching them. He went out the door and jumped into his car and drove off.

Chapter 8

Hayley went out and looked around. She saw Brian, Howie, and AJ talking.

       Guys, where’s Nick, Hayley said as Kevin came out.

       He took off, Brian said.

       Did he say why, Hayley said.

       No, but he was not happy, AJ said.

       Oh, Hayley said. She went inside and grabbed her keys and went out and got into her car and drove around looking for Nick. She found him at the beach. She went down to where he was.

       Hey, Hayley said.

       What do you want, Nick said.

       Why are you being this way towards me, Hayley said.

       You hurt me, when you kissed Kevin, Nick said.

       Kevin is my husband, I didn’t know there was a law where I couldn’t, Hayley said.

       We kissed, Hayley, and you didn’t stop it, you were into it, you felt what I felt, you can’t deny it, Hayley, I felt it when we kissed, Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

       You are jealous, Hayley said.

       Yes, you are, Hayley said. Nick pulled her close.

       I can’t, Kevin knows you feel something for me, and he has fallen for me, and well, I have fallen for him, too, Hayley said. Nick pushed her away.

       Just stay away from me, Nick said. He walked off. Hayley stood there. She went to her car and went home to her apartment. She sat down and sighed.

Three days later, she went to Kevin’s house and saw Brian’s car. She went in and saw Kevin pacing. Brian saw her.

       Kev, Brian said. Kevin saw her and came over to her and hugged her.

       Thank god you’re alright, Kevin said.

       I’m fine, I just went to my apartment to think about some things, Hayley said.

       What do you mean, Kevin said.

       I can’t do this anymore, I’m not cut out to be a wife, this can’t go any longer, please don’t fight me on this, I can’t do this, I just can’t, I’m sorry, Hayley said. She got her stuff and went out the door. Kevin came out and watched her drive away.

Three years went by since she left. She never received anything that said her marriage to Kevin was over. He didn’t even call. She went to work and sat down behind the counter. She turned around and did some stuff on the computer.

       Hayley? she heard someone say. She turned and saw Nick standing there.

       I remember you saying that I should stay away from you, I have been so why are you here, Hayley said turning back to the computer.

       I heard you left Kevin and been trying to find you, Nick said.

       Its been three years, Nick, why now, Hayley said.

       Because you and I are married now, Nick said.

       That’s impossible, Hayley said.

       Was it impossible when you and Kevin found out that you two were married, somehow everything got switched so you and I are married now, I just received the marriage license this morning, after Kevin ended his marriage to you yesterday, Nick said.

       He ended it yesterday? Hayley asked.

       He didn’t call you, Nick said.

       No, I moved and changed my number because of all the telemarketers calling, Hayley said.

       I’m sorry for what I said on the beach, I was upset, and hurt, but I know you were married to Kevin at the time so I should have took it better than I did, Nick said.

       Nick, I don’t like cheating, Adam always cheated on me, so I don’t cheat on the person I’m with, because its stupid, Hayley said. Nick smiled.

       That’s me, too, I wasn’t going to go any further than that kiss, Nick said.

       Nick, just tell me why you are really here, Hayley said.

       I want to be with you, I have not stopped thinking about you, you are in my head all the time, Nick said. He came around and stood beside her. She looked up at him. He pulled her up and pulled her close.

       Please tell me you want to be with me, we can be happy, I will not hurt you for anything, I would die for you, you are the one for me, Nick said. He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her softly. He pulled back and looked at her.

       I need to think about this, can I think about all this, Hayley said. Nick looked at her.

       Here’s my cell, call me when you have decided on something, Nick said handing her his card. He kissed her again and left the store. 

Chapter 9

Hayley went home after work and sat there. She looked at the card and laid down on the couch and thought about everything. She couldn’t deny that she was in love with Nick. Now she was married to him. She went to Kevin’s house and knocked on the door. The door opened and Kevin stood there.

       Hey, Kevin said.

       Can we talk? Hayley asked. Kevin stepped aside and she went in. They sat in the living room.

       So, what’s up, Kevin said.

       Nick came to the store today and told me that our marriage ended yesterday and as of this morning, I’m Mrs. Nick Carter, Hayley said.

       Yeah, he told me, its cool, Kevin said.

       I don’t know what to do, I mean, I ran away from our marriage, now I’m married to Nick, Hayley said.

       Maybe because you and I weren’t meant to be together but you and Nick are, Kevin said.

       Its okay, Ill live, Kevin said. Hayley said bye and left. Kevin sat down. Brian came in.

       Hayley was here, Nick talked to her at work and told her everything, he said he wants to be with her, she doesn’t know what to do, Kevin said.

       I hope she goes away, Brian said.

       Brian, its been three years, maybe she and I didn’t belong together, but now I know that she and Nick do, I am not mad, okay, or upset, Kevin said.

       She left you, cuz, and now she’s back and going to be with Nick, I can’t let that happen, Brian said.

       Nick, we have to talk, Kevin had a visitor today, Hayley came to see him, they talked, I came to tell you to not go and be with her, Brian said.

       Brian, I want to be with her, Nick said.

       What makes you so sure? Brian asked.

       Oh great, Brian said. The doorbell rang. Nick opened the door and saw Hayley with her stuff.

       Hey, Nick said.

       Hi, um, I thought about everything and I realized that I want to be with you, if you’ll have me, Hayley said. Brian came to the door and looked at her.

       No, he won’t, goodbye, Brian said pushing Nick back in and slammed the door. Nick glared at Brian.

       What are you doing! Nick yelled.

       Keeping you from getting your heart broken, you will thank me later, Brian said.

       No, you are an idiot! Nick said opening the front door. Brian slammed it shut.

       Nick, she walked out on Kevin, she might do the same, I was there when she walked out, Kevin was heartbroken, I don’t want it to happen to you, Brian said. Nick looked at him.

       Brian, this is my life, not yours, Nick said.

       I’m trying to be your friend here, and looking out for you, Brian said.

       You are trying to screw up my life! Nick yelled.

       I’m trying to keep you from getting your heartbroken! Brian said. Nick looked at him.

       If I get my heartbroken, so what, Ill heal! Nick yelled. Nick opened the door and saw Hayley gone.  He walked out and saw her car gone. He went back in and grabbed his keys.

       Get out, I don’t want to talk to you right now, Nick said. He got into his car and drove off. He went to the mall and went to Sports Authority and saw Jessie.

       Hi, I’m looking for Hayley, Nick said.

       She’s not here, she’s off today, Jessie said.

       Do you know where she lives? Nick asked.

       Who’s asking? Jessie asked.

       I’m her husband, Nick said.

       Shouldn’t she live with you? Jessie asked.

       Well, its a long story, but I need to find her, Nick said.

Jessie gave him Hayley's address and Nick thanked her and left. He went to the address, which was a condo by the beach. He knocked on the door. Hayley opened the door and saw him.

       How did you find my place? Hayley asked.

       Your work, the girl there told me, Nick said.

       Oh great, so much for privacy, Hayley said.

       I told her I was your husband, Nick said.

       Come in, Hayley said. Nick went in and looked around.

       I’m sorry about before, Brian didn’t have the right to do what he did, he was trying to protect me, but I can take care of myself, Nick said.

       Nick, he thinks I’m going to do the same thing as I did with Kevin, walk out, he doesn’t know that I actually want to be with you, Hayley said.

       You do? Nick asked.

       Yes, you are the one for me, Hayley said.

Three weeks later, Nick and Hayley were happy and enjoying married life. They have yet to make the marriage official by making love but they were taking it slow and easy and getting to know each other better day by day. Nick went to Kevin’s house and saw Brian, Howie, and AJ there.

       What is this, Nick said.

       They wanted a meeting to talk about Hayley, I’m telling them that I’m happy for you and Hayley, they don’t seem to understand or believe me, Kevin said.

       Guys, you need to get past that, it was three years ago when she left him, maybe she wasn’t ready for marriage then, she probably is now, Hayley and I have been together for three weeks and she has all her stuff there, if she wasn’t going to stay, she wouldn’t have brought all her stuff and gave up her condo, Nick said. He sat down.

       Nick, we are trying to be your friends here, Brian said.

       You are trying to ruin my life! Why can’t you guys be happy for me, why are you letting the past take over, Nick said.

       Nick, she left Kevin, she could leave you like she did him, Brian said.

       She won’t! Nick yelled.

       Brian, stop it, Kevin said.

       Why, Kevin, she walked out on you, I was there, Brian said looking at his cousin.

       I’m over it, she is with Nick, they are married and there is nothing we can do about it, I’m tired of you trying to ruin Nick’s life, we should be supportive of him! Kevin said angrily to his cousin.

       Be supportive? We will when he finds a girl who won’t walk out! Brian said.

       She won’t! Nick said.

       Lets go see, Brian said. They went to Nicks house and went in.

       Hayley! Nick called.  Silence.

       Hayley! Kevin called. More silence.

       Hayley! Nick called again. He looked around and didn’t see a note. He went upstairs and her stuff was still there. He went downstairs. He looked at the guys.

       Her stuff is still here, nothing is missing, Nick said. The door opened and Hayley came in with a bag of groceries.

       Hey guys, Hayley said going into the kitchen. She put the groceries away. The guys stood in the doorway. She looked up and saw them.

       What? Hayley asked.

       Brian, Howie, and AJ think you walked out on me, Nick said looking at them.

       Hayley, they think you will do the same thing to Nick as you did to me, Kevin said.

       Guys, that was three years ago, I have changed and grown up, I wasn’t ready for marriage then, but I’m ready now, I have no intention of leaving Nick, Hayley said.

       What did I tell ya, Nick said looking at Brian, Howie, and AJ. They looked at their feet.

       We are just trying to look after Nick, Brian said.

       I think Nick is old enough to take care of himself, he’s not little anymore, he is capable of looking after himself, I was going through a lot when I left Kevin, but I’m over that, I have grown up, Hayley said.

       We just don’t want Nick to get hurt, AJ said.

       The only way Nick will get hurt is if he doesn’t have your support, he wants your support, okay, he doesn’t want to fight with you guys, he wants you guys to be happy for him, and so do I, I have changed, guys, I’m not the same person as before, I’m a better person, Hayley said.

       She’s right, Howie said.

       Yeah, AJ said.

       Hayley, we are sorry for the way we were acting, its just that, Nicks our little bro, he always will be no matter how old he gets, we don’t want anything bad to happen to him, Brian said.

       I won’t hurt him, guys, I promise, Hayley said.

That night, Hayley got ready for bed. Nick got into bed and pulled her close. She rested her head on his chest.

       I like this, Nick said.

       Me, too, Hayley said looking up at him. He kissed her forehead and they started to fall asleep. Hayley woke in the middle of the night. She saw Nick asleep and she got up and went downstairs and got a glass of water. She went into the living room and laid down on the couch. She fell asleep.

Chapter 10

**Nick woke up and saw Hayley gone. He got up and got dressed and went downstairs and saw her gone. He looked all over the house and couldn’t find her. He looked around for a note. Three days went by and Hayley was nowhere to be found. Nick began to think she really did leave him. He called the guys. They came over and Nick told them.

       I knew it! Brian said.

       She promised she wouldn’t leave you, AJ said. The doorbell rang. Nick went and opened the door and saw Hayley. She was bruised and she had cuts all over. Her clothes were ripped.

       Nick, she said weakly as she fell into his arms. He picked her up and laid her on the couch. The guys came in and saw her.

       Oh my god, Kevin said.

       Hayley, what happened, Nick said softly.

       I wanted to do something special for you, so I went to the store, to get more food for breakfast, I was heading out and at my car when I was grabbed from behind, I passed out and I woke up in this cold room, the person who took me was Ryan, he escaped from prison, he told me I was going to pay for what I did, that he was going to kill me like he did my parents, but he wanted me to suffer first, so he beat me, and he tried to rape me, but I fought him off and ran, but he caught up to me and beat me again, I was knocked out and I woke up in the same cold room, only I was naked, turns out that he raped me a couple of times while I was out, when he saw me awake, he decided to rape me again, three times, he was rough, and it hurt like hell, he told me that I was a slut and if I fought him off, he would tell you that I cheated on you, that I wanted it, all I did was lie there and let him do it, I was afraid of what he would do, after he was done, he left the room, I got what was left of my clothes and put them on and found a way out of there, I hope he doesn’t find me, I don’t want to see him ever again, Hayley said.

       How about now, Ryan said. They turned and saw him standing there with a gun pointed at them.

       Yeah, I know, all five of you, away, now, or I shoot Blondie, Ryan said pointing the gun at Nick. The guys moved back. Ryan tied them to chairs from the kitchen. He locked the doors and windows and closed the shades. He turned on the lights.

       NO! Nick yelled. Ryan pointed the gun at him.

       Shut up, I’m in control here, Ryan said.

       Why are you doing this, Kevin said.

       She is going to pay for what she did, Ryan said. What Ryan didn’t know was that Brian had his phone and dialed 911. The operator was listening.

       Don’t you know that cops are looking for you, they know you escaped from prison by now, AJ said.

       They can’t find me, you guys can’t do anything, but watch, Ryan said. He moved over to Hayley.

       Haven’t you done enough, you already beat her and raped her, she’s been through enough, you made her pay, okay, just leave her alone, Nick said.

       I have only began to make her pay, Ryan said.

       You are crazy, she can barely move and you want to hurt her more, what next, you want her in the hospital? Nick said.

       I want her begging for her life, Ryan said. He sat down beside her.

       You are a psycho, Hayley said weakly.

       You are crazy, I never wanted you, you are sick, Hayley said. Ryan slapped her.

       Tell them or die, Ryan said.

       NO! Nick yelled.

       Prepare to die, Ryan said. He pulled the trigger.**

Hayley sat up breathing heavily. She saw that she was on the couch. She looked around and saw that it was daytime. She laid down and laid on her side and thought about her dream.

Chapter 11

Hayley heard a noise and she looked up and saw Nick coming down the stairs.

       Hey, about time you woke up, Nick said. Hayley looked at him and ran out the back door. Nick went out.

       Hey, what’s wrong, Nick said.

       I had this dream, it was bad, Hayley said.

       Do you want to talk about it? Nick asked. She told him about the dream.

       I hope that doesn’t happen for real, Hayley said.

       It won’t, I won’t let it happen, Nick said.

       I hope it doesn’t happen, Hayley said. Nick hugged her.

       It won’t, Nick said. She looked up at him.

       Nick, Hayley said.

       Yeah, Nick said.

       I love you, Hayley said. Nick smiled.

       I love you, too, Nick said. She smiled and he leaned down and kissed her softly. The kiss deepened. He slipped his tongue into her mouth. She moaned as he pulled her closer. She felt him against her.

       Nick? Hayley asked.

       I want you, Hayley, Nick said.

       Nick, I never have done this before, Hayley said.

       You are a virgin? Nick asked.

       Yeah, Hayley said.

Afterwards, they laid there holding each other. Hayley looked up at Nick. He smiled at her.

       Hello wife, Nick said.

       Hello husband, Hayley said.

       Our marriage is official, Nick said.

       Yeah, it is, Hayley said.

       I love you, Nick said.

       I love you, too, Hayley replied. They heard the doorbell ring. Nick groaned and got up and got dressed and went downstairs and opened the door and saw Brian.

       Hey Frick, Nick said.

       Hey man, you busy? Brian asked.

       A little, Hayley and me were laying down, Nick said.

       Oh, I thought you would want to go play basketball with me, Brian said.

       Yeah, sure, just a sec, Nick said. He went upstairs and into the bedroom. Hayley was lying there.

       Hey, Brian’s here, he wants to play basketball, so Ill be back later, okay, Nick said.

       Okay, have fun, Hayley said. He kissed her deeply and went out the door.

Nick and Brian were at the park at the basketball courts. They were playing a game. They sat down to rest.

       So, how are you enjoying married life, Brian said.

       I love it, I love being with her, Nick said.

       Sleep with her? Brian asked.

       Yup, just before you came over today, Nick said.

       Do you love her? Brian asked.

       Yes, Nick said.

       She had this dream, Nick said. Nick told him about the dream. Brian looked at him.

       Awww, Frack, Brian said smiling. They heard a click. They looked up and saw Ryan standing there with two guns pointed at them. They got up.

       That’s it, run and Ill shoot, Ryan said.

       I want Hayley to pay for what she did, Ryan said.

       You killed her parents, Nick said.

       You think she would let you get away with it, she wanted justice for her parents, you took their lives, you had to pay, Brian said. Ryan pointed the gun to his face.

       Okay, you two, move it, Ryan said. They went to Brian’s car and Ryan got into the backseat.

       Drive, Ryan said. Brian drove to where Ryan said to drive to. Nick closed his eyes and prayed they would make it out of this alive. Brian pulled up at an abandoned warehouse. Ryan ushered them in and tied them to chairs tightly.

       Nick, did you know that Hayley had a crush on Brian here, before you all even met, before she even left Adam, I bet she has feelings for him, Ryan said. He set up a speakerphone and dialed a number. He put it on speaker.

       Hello, Hayley said. Ryan motioned Nick to speak.

       Hayley, its me, Nick said.

       Hey, everything ok, are you having fun with Brian? Hayley asked. Nick looked at Ryan. Ryan wrote down something and held it in front of him.

       No, something has come up, I need to ask you something, Nick said.

       Nick, what’s wrong, what is it, Hayley said.

       Do you have feelings for Brian? Nick asked.

       Why would you ask me that? Hayley asked.

       Just answer it, Nick said.

       Nick, I used to have a crush on Brian, okay, it was when I was with Adam, but Im over that, and in love with you, Hayley said. Nick looked at Ryan.

       Hayley, please tell me the truth, Nick said.

       He almost killed me, Ryan, I couldnt be with him ever again, he abused me for no good reason, he did it for the fun of it, he tried to rape me, he sent me to the hospital, how can I be with him again if he did all that to me, Hayley said.

       Because he knew you were in love with Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys, and you still are, Ryan said.

       We are over, Hayley, our marriage is over, Im done, Nick said. Brian looked at him.

       Nick, don’t, Brian said.

       And our friendship is over, Nick said looking at him. They heard sobbing.

       Now, Hayley, how do you feel, Ryan said. They heard a click and then a dial tone. Ryan pushed the button. He redialed. It was busy. Ryan hung up.

       That bitch, Ryan said.

Three hours later, Ryan sat there. Nick looked at the floor. Brian looked at Nick. Brian looked around and saw Hayley sneaking in with a gun. Brian looked at Ryan. Ryan got up.

       What are you looking at? Ryan said.

       Im not sure yet? Brian said.

       He’s probably looking at your ugly face, Nick said. Ryan turned and pointed his gun at Nick.

       Don’t even think about it, Hayley said coming up and grabbing the guns away from Ryan.

       How did you find this place, Ryan said.

       Easy, I drove around and found Brian’s car here so I figured you had them here, Hayley said. She held the gun on him. She untied Nick and Brian and they tied Ryan to the chair.

       Do you want to know something, I would do anything to keep you from killing my husband and his best friend, so I lied, Hayley said.

       You what, Nick said.

       Honey, do you honestly think I would do anything to hurt you, I don’t any feelings for Brian, I just said all that to keep you alive, Hayley said.

       You bitch, Ryan said.

       Hey, I would say anything to keep my hubby alive, okay, and his best friends, Hayley said.

       You mean, you don’t want me or want to be my girl, Brian said. Hayley looked at him.

       Brian, honey, I already have a guy, and he’s all I can handle, Hayley said. Nick pulled her close and kissed her deeply.

       You two make me sick, Ryan said. The cops arrived and took Ryan away. Hayley and Nick went home and Nick carried her upstairs to their bedroom and he laid her on the bed and got on top of her and pulled her clothes off and pulled his off and he made love to her. Chapter 12

The next morning, Hayley woke up and saw Nick asleep. She smiled and reached over and stroked his cheek. Nick stirred and woke up and saw her and smiled.

Hayley went into Nicks house and found Nick out back staring at the pool. He looked up and saw her.

       I didn’t, Willa set it up to get you back, Ryan was in on it, they both are in jail, Nick, I swear, Brian and I didn’t do anything, we were hanging out, I ran off and he chased me because I teased him, and I was grabbed and thrown into a car and so was Brian, we were blindfolded and our hands were tied, Hayley said showing him her wrists. He saw rope burns.

       Oh god, Nick said.

       We both got knocked out and I woke up and saw that I was naked and so was Brian, I didn’t know what happened, Willa came in with Ryan, and she told us what she did, Ryan wanted me for himself and he came over and Brian punched him out and grabbed his gun and held it on Willa, I went over to her and punched her out, and called the cops, Hayley said.

       So it was a set up, the pictures weren’t real, you two didn’t sleep together, Nick said.

       No, we didn’t, I couldnt do that to you, Nick, I couldnt do anything to hurt you, I love you too much to hurt you, Hayley said. Nick got up and came over to her and hugged her close.

Hayley snapped out of her daydream. She looked around and saw that she was at work. She kept having these daydreams. She looked up and saw Jessie and their boss talking.

       Hayley, Jessie said you have been drifting off into dreamland, Matt said.

       Understandable, I thought you were bored, Matt said.

Chapter 14

Hayley put Emily in her playpen and sat down. Brian sat down beside her.
“Are you okay,” Brian said.
“I should have tried harder to find him,” Hayley said.

“I know, but why doesn’t he understand that,” Hayley said.
“He is too hard-headed,” Brian said.

“You didn’t have a way to get ahold of him, and you knew if you went

“You could have went public and said for Nick to find you,” Kevin said
sitting down.
“I didn’t want my ex to find me, that’s why I didn’t go public,” Hayley

“Oh right, that explains that,” Kevin said.
“Did Nick know where you work?” AJ asked.
“Yeah, he did, I don’t know why he didn’t come to see me there,” Hayley
said.
“I’m going to go find out if we can end this marriage,” Brian said. Hayley
looked at him.
“Okay,” Hayley said. Brian left with Kevin, Howie, and AJ. Hayley picked up
Emily and sat down with her.
“I love you, little one, you are my life, I will not let anyone take you
away from me, I will fight with everything I have to keep you,” Hayley said.
There was a knock at the door. Hayley put Emily in her playpen and she
opened the door and saw Brian.
“I just wanted to tell you that I ended the marriage so you are single,”

“We have a daughter to think of, Hayley,” Nick said.

some papers on the counter. She opened them.
“If we don’t talk now, I’m filing for sole custody of my daughter,” Nick

“How are you going to take care of a child with your career?” Hayley said.
“The guys and I are on vacation for a year,” Nick said.
“She is my life, Nick, and I don’t care how much money you got, but I’m not
letting go of my child, I carried her for nine months, I gave birth to her,
she has been my life since day one and I’m not letting anyone take her away

number, I had no way of getting ahold of you and telling you that I was
pregnant,” Hayley said. She pulled him to the backroom and closed the door.
“Also, I didn’t want to go public with all that just to get you to contact
me, I know you guys have private lives so I didn’t want to screw that up,”
Hayley said. She went back out and sat down. Nick came out and stood beside
her.
“I’m sorry, okay, it’s hard to explain but I regret leaving you that night,
but I was scared to go back,” Nick said.
“I almost lost her, Nick, when I was three months along, I almost lost her,
but she was a fighter and held on,” Hayley said.
“Hayley, I want to be there from now on, I want to be her father,” Nick
said. She looked at him. Matt came in.
“Hey Hayley,” Matt said.
“Hi Matt,” Hayley said.
“You can leave if you want to, I need something to do so I will take over
for you,” Matt said. Hayley got her stuff and left. Nick followed her. They
walked to her car. They were pushed in and Hayley looked and saw Ryan.
“Ryan!” Hayley said.
“I decided that you should pay for leaving Adam,” Ryan said.
He drove to an abandoned warehouse. He pushed them into a cold room and
locked the door. Hayley hugged herself and stood there.
“Why does he do this,” Nick said.
“He thinks it’s revenge,” Hayley said. She sat down on the bed that was set
up in there. Nick sat down.
“It can give us a chance to talk,” Nick said.
“Yeah,” Hayley said.
“I still think of that night, that we were together,” Nick said.

“Do you regret that night?” Nick asked.

Three days went by. Hayley and Nick were still in that room. Hayley was
scared.
“I hope Emily is okay,” Hayley said.

“Nick, you have been quiet, are you okay?” Hayley asked.
“No,” Nick said.
“Nick, what is it,” Hayley said.
“That night, when we slept together, I fell in love with you, from that
time on, I couldn’t stop thinking about you, I still am in love with you,”

“You heard her,” Nick said. AJ looked at them and left. Hayley looked at

Chapter 15

Nick decided to take Emily to see his parents out in LA. Hayley had to work

“I’ll call you when we get there, okay,” Nick said.
“I wish I could go, but Matt needs me at work, since Jessie is going on

“I could go stay with Brian, I mean, his place is closer to work, so I

“I’ll call and get you on the first flight to LA, so you can be with him
and Emily, you guys are a family,” AJ said.
“Thanks for understanding,” Hayley said. AJ hugged her.
“Hey, we will always be friends,” AJ said. She kissed him softly.
“Thank you,” Hayley said. They hugged.

Epilogue

Three hours later, she was on a flight to LA. Once the place landed, she saw
a limo with a guy holding a sign with her name. She got in and the limo took
her to the Carters’. She got out once she was there and went up and rang the
doorbell. The door opened and there stood Aaron.
“Hi, can I help you?” Aaron said.
“Yeah, is Nick here with Emily?” Hayley asked.

“Aaron, let’s go inside and get something to eat,” Jane said.
“Mom, this is Hayley, Emily’s mother, Hayley, this is my mother, Jane,”
Nick said.
“Hi Hayley,” Jane said.

“Hayley, call me Jane, okay, after all, you are my granddaughter’s mother,”
Jane said.

Hayley. They sat down.
“What is going on, why did you lie about work,” Nick said.
“Nick, I lied to get you away so I can deal with my feelings, once you left
me at Brian’s, I had a talk with him, Nick, the night before, I had a dream
that me and AJ were happily married and making love, I had feelings for AJ,
so I went over to AJ’s and he seduced me,” Hayley said.
“What!” Nick said angrily.
“Nick, calm down, so me and AJ made love, afterwards, I realized that it
was a mistake sleeping with him, because I knew from that moment on that my
feelings for him were gone, because my feelings for you took over,” Hayley
said.
“What are you talking about,” Nick said.
“Ever since that night we slept together, that one night when Emily was
conceived, I fell deeply in love with you, I love you, Nick, I have loved
you since that night and I know I will never stop, AJ is going to go see
about a divorce so I can be free and clear to be with you, you are the one I
want, Nick, I want to be with you, so much, you are the only one for me, the
only one, I don’t want to lose you or our daughter,” Hayley said.
“What are you saying, Hayley,” Nick said.
“Nick, will you marry me?” Hayley asked. He looked at her.
“Yes,” Nick said. She smiled. He hugged and they kissed deeply. She pulled
back.
“There is something else you should know,” Hayley said.
“What is it,” Nick said.
“After I had Emily, my doctor told me that I couldn’t have any more
children,” Hayley said.
“We can adopt,” Nick said. Hayley smiled.
“How about going somewhere, alone, where no one is, and you can make me
yours forever,” Hayley said. He got up and took her hand and they went to
the beach and he took her to a secluded spot where no one could see them.
They laid on the sand and pulled each other’s clothes off. She held onto him
as he made love to her. Afterwards, they laid there kissing.
“I’m yours forever, Nick,” Hayley said.
“I love you,” Nick said.
“I love you, too,” Hayley said. They got dressed and went back to the house
and went up to his bathroom and got into the shower and made love in the
shower. They got out and dried off and he locked the door to his room and
they collapsed on the bed and made love again. They held each other and
smiled.
Two weeks later, after receiving word that her marriage to AJ was over, Nick
and Hayley got married on the beach. With the guys present and Nick’s
family, Nick and Hayley were united in marriage and knew that they were
never again to be apart.
AJ stood there and watched. Brian stood beside him.
“I guess they are right, Rok,” AJ said.
“What’s that,” Brian said.
“When they say that love conquers all, well, it’s true, love does conquer
all,” AJ said.
“That’s right, Bone,” Brian said. They watched as Nick and Hayley were
pronounced husband and wife and they knew that Nick and Hayley would be
forever together.
